A new kid on the block. Very cool. I like the sounds and the freedom of the MIDI map editor, as well as the articulations system. And the toms sound great. I'll pick this up when I can.
Would be great, on the snare zones, to have a variable controller to randomize the chance of hit another zone, for example, I'm playing on center, but have just a 10% of chance to "miss" and hit in the middle zone of the snare... Think about it for an update 🙂
If all of the mixer options were turned off, would the raw drum sound be what's left? Or do the drum samples always have at least a bit of EQ/compressor processing on them?
I havebeat scholar and thought I might be able to export as a common audio file (n to midi), but cannot, I guess. Can I do that with MINDst Drums? Or, with both, can I only accomplish that within a DAW?
What's the CPU demand like...I mean, that's the key. These days there are a number of high quality drum VSTi's to choose from but a lot of them are CPU hogs which makes it difficult to use with multiple VST's open.
That part depends on your computer specs. On my machine with a Mac M1 max, Ableton Live with 44100, buffer of 128 it takes 7%. That's in the default preset that has most of the effects open. Closing the Reverbs for example gets it down to 5%. Switching to the init preset that has no effects reduces it to 3-4%.
I think it holds super well, check out our demos on SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/modalics/sets/mindst-drums Especially the tracks 'Human Followers' (Djent) and 'More Jello' (hard rock). There's also a Dream Theater drum cover done with it: ua-cam.com/video/V7IWEmfadNQ/v-deo.html
@@Tryggvasson That is what's called a "General MIDI Map" which depicts a certain generic mapping used by many developers - this is just a general standartization of which note should play which drum. Every kit has a different amount of pieces and as a developer you assign your kit pieces according to what's available in the GM map. Though some developers choose a different map alltogether.
Thanks for the kind words! We also include a freely updated bank of MIDI grooves from top drummers and producers (Over 300 files now) and our kit sampling depth is unmatched. We went all in on this kit instead of providing several with lower resolution.
@@Modalics i understand, and i understand the amount of work, but for a one kit it's still pretty expensive, compared to the other options. ssd just a deal for $50 the entire thing - i'm not crazy about them cause they're processed out of the box - and mld's got deals for $20 the kit. if you can come up with an excellent price - and somehow add 1-2 more toms :p - i'd like to buy them.
@@Tryggvasson Noted! We definitely want to start working towards adding additional kits / pieces soon. I hope that you'll see enough value in our product soon to consider a purchase! :) It's on us to make that happen!
Makes perfect sense :) If you connect your E-Kit module to your computer and send MIDI into it, you can easily map MINDst to work with your kit. If you run into any trouble just email us at info@modalics.com and we'll help you out.
I downloaded and purchased MINDst Drums last night and have already written/recorded a new song. How do I change the time signature in MINDst Drums? Seems every sample is 4/4. Thanks!
yesturday i got mindst drums from the site .. im having vdrums td 11 how i map my drums to natural sounding like the beats from the plyer can anybody help me set up my td 11 with the plug in
Hey! Probably a good start would be the Roland TD-50 kit, but it's possible some adjustments in the MIDI mappings might need to be made. Feel free to join our discord or write us an email to info@modalics.com and we'll help you out. :)
Yes, the default mapping is GM-compatible, and you can of course change that (there are map presets, and you can save your own). You can see more in the full tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/LsxkbrenGHs/v-deo.htmlsi=c1fRvsz47UGjH60q&t=375
AMAZING the alternate handing on the Hats!!! AMAZING! GREAT IDEA!
Best walk-thru. Great kit. You sold me!
Awesome! Thank you for your purchase :)

Thank you for the video! It's a great walkthrough! ❤
Sounds great. No trail version though?
These sound great! are any TCI files included for Slate Trigger at all?
Not yet, but we'll definitely add that to our update roadmap.
The set sounds fantastic, but is there only one set?
Currently yes, MINDst Drums only comes with one set.
If all of the mixer options were turned off, would the raw drum sound be what's left? Or do the drum samples always have at least a bit of EQ/compressor processing on them?
Everything is recorded completely RAW, and you can even use multi out mode to get the different mics.
Impressive !

Both Beat Scholar and MINDst Drums require a DAW in order to export Audio. Both can also export MIDI quite easily.
Can this be used stand alone? I just want to create drum songs, save as a sound file (MP3, etc) and use them as a track in garage band or something.
Hi do the grooves have fills connected to them already so when using a specific groove you only have to drag and drop in a track , thanks for response
Hey. :) The groove sequencer is pretty basic, it's just a lot of grooves and you can sequence them as you wish in your DAW.

@@Modalics that's actually not bad...looking forward to trying it out.
Very cool you guys!
Is that feature of drawing a hihat CC curve shown at 5:28 part of the MINDst software, or of the DAW?
The drawing itself is in the DAW. MINDst Drums has a Variable CC mode you can enable for that to work.
I looks beautiful. Sounds are great aswell. How well would you say it holds up in more heavy music?
I think it holds super well, check out our demos on SoundCloud:

how many toms does it have? cause looking at the kit piece list in the daw, there seem to be 5, while on the gui you only have 3.
Our kit has 2 toms and a floor.
@@Modalics thanks for the answer. it means the sequencer list in that demo was for another kit (?)

it sounds absolutely great, and the options are great. too expensive, for a single kit, in my opinion, though, even now, for black friday.

So can i use my e kit to play these drum sounds or is this just used for pre made drum grooves? Hopefully my question makes sense.

How a sample can have a time signature???
BPM is governed by the DAW, not the samples.

Absolutely, you can see some TD-50 demos on our channel, like this:

Is it compatible with Garageband for iOs?
No, Mac/PC only.
I might have regained access to my account. I might try to reinstall the application or relogin.
