i swear to god there was a comment saying they were only singing octaves. now it just looks like i decided to point out that the harmony is a major third interval
Mac, Pierce, Peter and Joe are the most chilled guys I've ever seen. Mac, especially. They are so laid back. While people might consider their talent minimal, I think they have a bunch of talent, just not in the way other musicians or band have IT.
Agreed. They're not technically amazing, but they're really creative. I love how they work neck bends into their riffs, and their melodies are unlike anything I've ever heard.

Mac Demarco is so rock and roll. Saw him perform at the student bar at my university a couple of weeks ago. They played whatever they thought was fun. They played some Skynyrd and Rammstein along with some originals. Fucking psyched for the new album, been playing the last two albums over and over and over ever since I saw Mac live.

I remember seeing Mac live in 2014 when he opened up for Dr.Dog. I would give everything to go back to that night and reexperience the golden age of Mac. I will always love his music.
I come back to this video every few years. Saw them play the Void in SD right before the summer this was recorded. I'm convinced this is the best live recording when pete was still in the band.
I saw them less than a week ago too! I saw them in Houston and Mac tried to stage dive twice but both times were failures as the crowd failed him, but it's surprising though because the crowd were crazy, where'd you seen them?
+Steven Cruz New Orleans(civic theater), our crowd was super cooperative but psycho for mac. Those never go together but somehow they did(: I accidentally deleted my comment sorrry this apple phone got me tripped out.
+Levi Dieter I think that sure, pete was a great guitarist, but he also looked half asleep, even at crazy sets, but andy looks like he has a fun time he plays and he always is happy haha
yeah, it's a very typical comment about live shows in europe or something. here, in south america (i'm from Chile) when an artist come to visit any of our countries they get really surprise for the energy that they recibe by the crowd. pd. sorry for my bad english! Mac come to Chile!
Andres Pulido i think its also because it feels much more exciting when u go to a concert irl than when u're watching one on youtube, which makes the concerts on youtube seem kinda boring
His solos in live versions of Still Together is my number one reference point for liking him more than Andy. Pete comps a lounge-y solo that fits the song like a glove whereas Andy stops the show completely and starts playing around with octave and delay pedals in pseudo prog-rock form.

Am I the only one who thinks the harmonizing in stars keep calling is just like the best thing ever?
major third interval on "i just wanna go"
+berry greetings fellow Phalous fan
i swear to god there was a comment saying they were only singing octaves. now it just looks like i decided to point out that the harmony is a major third interval
HOLY FUCK, YES!!! I AM TRYING TO DO SOME OFFICE WORK AT HOME, AND THAT WAS THE BEST THING
I fucking love this guy, little kind, little humble, little crazy
dendr0apsis No one compares to the Mac. (except maybe Elvis)
lil' jazzy, little Creamy, little funky. He's the father of Jizz-Jazz.
I love how unorganized and free this show is. No big production or flashy lights, just a few guys playing quality tunes.
true but there's a lot of flashy lights behind them lol
I just think it's the way they are is so loose and light-hearted
Ethan Buter
This is literally the example for a big production with flashy lights.
r u joking
Props to the audio and video guys jeeez

I agreed
They’re Mac, Pierce, Peter, and Joe and they’re gonna play some rock n roll music for you this evening
Petes' solo in stars keep calling my name is brilliant!
What made this show good, for me, was THEM having so much fun performing...
It's contagious..
This might be Mac’s best performance I’ve ever seen. The energy is indescribable and Peter’s solos and back up vocals. This is on another level.
this is some great video quality
Kevin Buckley audio too!

This concert is unbelievable. I don't even know how to describe it.
Mac Demarco is so rock and roll.

Var líka svo góður í Silfurbergi! Og ekki leiðinlegt að hitta hann svo niðrí bæ og spjalla:)
Djammaðirðu með Mac Demarco?
Hitti hann bara á Harlem og átti skemmtilegar samræður við hann. Mjög næs gaur!

@@wileydowler7822 lol "the beetles"
chril born hah i’m dumb
Love this show in particular, the way how it devolves into madness.
Micah Chambers crazy how bad Mac looks now compared to back then haha
he's only 22 here, mental
fella and this is probably my favorite recorded performance of them
Did no one else hear Mac's rewrite at 33:05? I fucking died. And that was right after he killed his solo.
"2" is definitely one of my favorites of this year I hope mac keeps up with good music :)
I watched this set so many times after it first came out. Takes me back a little bit to being 17
Yo same here. I remember being obsessed with this performance my freshman year of college. Constantly watching it in my dorm.
All of those people in the crowd, left with something they'll truly never forget. Really wish I could've been at this show.
pete was amazing in rock n roll night club, I like andy, but i fucking miss pete and his solos
+Scot Macmillan Yep... love the second album
isnt it midnight snack?
+Scot Macmillan its damn good!! i love pete!!!
+Gonçalo Norberto actually, mac played all the instruments on his albums. pete and the other guys just play in the gigs.
I know, I'm talking about this particular gig.
Am I the only one who thinks its hilarious that Van Halen is playing after them
haha
+Jordan Balzer it was a joke
+RJ nice the joke worked
This is the most beautiful video of a concert I have ever seen
The drums are mic'd so beautifully. I'm crying
I remember seeing Mac live in 2014 when he opened up for Dr.Dog. I would give everything to go back to that night and reexperience the golden age of Mac. I will always love his music.
i dont know why it made the band name a link. Dont click it.
lucky bro i would give anything to experience that show
thank you pitchfork for filming this
pearce should just release a full version of their blackbird cover. Seriously, that is by far my favorite cover of that song.
these guys are just genius free jazz musicians in disguise as rock musicians
I feel like Mac looks up to Ornette Coleman for some weird reason
always thought this
44:37 still cracks me up every time
Still one of the best Mac sets ever recorded.
so many good acts on the pitchfork festival
love how pete homeshaked the shit out of message in a bottle
a band of such amazing musicians. great set

wow
I come back to this video every few years. Saw them play the Void in SD right before the summer this was recorded. I'm convinced this is the best live recording when pete was still in the band.
they sound so solid. great performance.
Andy is such a fucking great guitarist, idk what the fuck you guys are talking about, he's made Mac Demarco's live shows so much tighter
Those never go together but somehow they did(:

+Levi Dieter I think that sure, pete was a great guitarist, but he also looked half asleep, even at crazy sets, but andy looks like he has a fun time he plays and he always is happy haha
Steven Cruz I completely agree

mac demarco is so cool. loved seeing him live at pitchfork
Hahah mac calld out some dude during the bass solo ....#epic
amazing!
Am I the only one that finds Mac oddly handsome with this mustache look?
Love how mac kisses the security after the crowd surf. Much respect.
The backing vocals on ''Baby's wearing blue jeans'' are just so perfect, I miss Pete :(
Best performance of Annie Ive heard so far!!
Wow amazing! Definitely Mac's best show!
best cover of message in a bottle i've ever seen
This guy is so freaking cool.
I'm so excited to see him play in NYC in november!!!
Man of the year
Titties, ass, hands in the air
Most amazing video I've ever seen! I need to see Mac live, come to redding california please!!
Man I wish I could play music live
i think every live video i've ever seen on youtube has comments about the "lame crowd"
yeah, it's a very typical comment about live shows in europe or something. here, in south america (i'm from Chile) when an artist come to visit any of our countries they get really surprise for the energy that they recibe by the crowd. pd. sorry for my bad english! Mac come to Chile!
Claudio Soto
no, its because they mute the crowd in these performances
Andres Pulido i think its also because it feels much more exciting when u go to a concert irl than when u're watching one on youtube, which makes the concerts on youtube seem kinda boring
THOSE COVERS ARE AMAZING
I miss these days of Mac he was such a hipster king
they're getting way better...
Great performance

His solos in live versions of Still Together is my number one reference point for liking him more than Andy. Pete comps a lounge-y solo that fits the song like a glove whereas Andy stops the show completely and starts playing around with octave and delay pedals in pseudo prog-rock form.
