    Very solid review of the Challenger. I just took delivery on the 2020 Challenger deepwater metallic. You describe the bike perfectly. One thing I would mention on the mapping page, for OCD guys like me that like to see true course direction and not "North UP" on the GPS screen, if you just touch the N icon on the screen it will convert your map to Course up and then show the compass so you know which direction you're heading. Other Indian owners may already know this but I though it might help to mention. Thanks again for your in depth review and for not thrashing a brand new bike that hasn't been broken in yet.

    You have your foot massager here, your reclining seat here, your all wheel drive button here, your auto pilot right here and your auto park button right here and if you press up up down down left right left right B A select start you and the second rider get 30 lives. Give me a carb, start, stop and throttle by cable and that's all I need. FWIW I love how my HD clunks smoothly in gear, lets you know it's locked in. Thanks for sharing

    I am in the minority and a old fart. I love the classic Indian look and my Roadmaster has enough power for me and my wife. The new bike is nice and will appeal to the younger generation or speed demons. I like old cars with lots of chrome to . Us old farts are dying off so Indian needs to modernize. Having said that we old farts have better taste lol just kidding sort of.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 роки тому

      I would not say that you have better taste, just got the luck of the draw for the best generation of machines and design. I believe that there is a time and a place for every machine that is out there, Roadmaster, Challenger, Chieftain, Street Glide, Road Glide, Ultra Classics, and whatever else might show up. For a good solid cruise around the country that Roadmaster is going to be the one to go with for all around comfort as the passenger has a throne and the rider one of the best stock touring seats around, the Challenger would be a great solo touring, but add a person and they will be like, hey where's my backrest? My trunk space? etc.

    Hello Thank you for the video.
    Very interested by this bike. Wanted to buy a Roadglide Ultra in 2017 but because of the wind buffet for for my passenger I bought and Electra Glide.
    So is the passenger getting buffet once the windshield is up? Around 70 MPH
    I think I would buy a longer waved windshield but interested in your opinion for riding passenger comfort with open\half helmet?
    Thanks,
    Mario

    • @RabidHedgehog

      My passenger was 5'3" and did not experience any buffeting with the windshield fully up and had a little bit of wind when fully down at highway speeds of around 70 or so. If your passenger is taller may experience different results.

      It is not a copy, it is an idea, Harley did not make their own fairings until the late 70s. Electra Glides, like Gold wings were not equipped with fairings until later in their production. BWM was the first motorcycle company to offer a production motorcycle with fairing in 1976 with the R100RS. Harley used Vetter fairings and the first "Bat Wing" was made in the mid-60s, but was not of HD origin either. Competition drove HD to use fairings, competition drove Indian to build this bike, Competition has forced HD to make a BMW GS series and a Ducati Monster if you want to call out copying, fine we'll do it. But this is not a copy, it is original, it has more character lines, it has a better chassis, it has a better engine, it has better equipment in general. It is a healthier competitor to the Road Glide, but not a copy.

      @@RabidHedgehog - Royal Enfield, 1958. First fairing'd motorcycle. And it's gonna be a copy forever... That's what you call it when you are imitating something because you need one too, regardless of mechanical differences or cosmetics. It was produced to entice buyers away from Road Glides and to an Indian in the hopes of turning them into long term owners and devotees. Most of Indian's product line is because they're trying to get the market share. You don't even have to know someone in Indian to know this, you can tell just by looking at the lineup and how it changes to handle HD's gains or misses.

      Not even close... I worked for Harley, been on many road glides, stared into their ugly faces over and over again and I can tell you they are worlds apart. Same idea, but totally different. Also How's Harley's BMW GS series coming along? Or The Harley Ducati Monster? There is no copying there either, just competition getting spicy.
