    Sorry folks! For some weird reason, Universal flagged an 8-second clip at the end.
    I had to "trim" this out using the tool on UA-cam. So that's why the ending is a little....weird.

      @@redsed1565 people tend to look at the past with rose colored glasses on. That everything was better back then and how horrid the present day is, but people tend to look at the art, fashion, music, architecture, etc of different decades and make a conclusion that it was the best, but ignoring all of the negative and dark things that happened. Each decade has that, things that werent so amazing. For example say you romanticize and love the 1920s, it might be amazing say for a white person but if you were and person of color that time was terrible. I have that with the 1980s, im 24 and love everything about the 80s but I know there was a lot of messed up stuff that happened in that decade and i need to remind myself of that

      @@CheerUp2 And messed up stuff is not happening today ? I remember the sixties/seventies/eighties as they were, so when you say "people tend to" do you mean all people or just some people, need to be more specific. What negative dark stuff ? are you saying that people are somehow better today, or do you have a tendency to look at today with rose tinted glasses, I can assure you as much "dark stuff" happens today as it did then, reality is "dark stuff" happens to us by chance unless we seek it out, as some do, for the vast majority we lived normal lives less tech, no dark stuff at all.

The twins from Harry Potter make a cameo in a blink and you'll miss it performance and they are both doing a scene with both leading actresses at the same time. Well, I was a teenager at the time. Although I lived 200 miles away, my parents often took my sister and I to London. I've walked around Soho, many times, from the late 50s to the 70s. I can assure anyone that this movie's portrayal of that period is the most accurate and evocative I have ever seen. I really enjoyed this film. Suggest everyone watches "Blow Up". It was made in 1966 and shows London in a very tempting, alluring and authentic Swinging 60s way.

    I've seen the film and it was fabulous! If anything, Last Night in Soho should win Best Editing at the Oscars! I only say that is because the Academy Awards are weird when selecting the nominees. Hence my hesitance to say best actress etc...

    • @MrJagermeister
      @MrJagermeister 3 роки тому +8

      100% deserves to be nominated for best film editing and sound editing/design and production design. And I say that after having seen Dune 3 times in a week and The French Dispatch as well as this one twice now. So much quality in such a short amount of time. I hope this doesn’t get overlooked because it’s a master class in film making. I was worried that it wouldn’t hold up a second time but seeing it again in the Dolby Theater was just as intense and thrilling as the first time, even knowing what happens.

    This movie is like a candy bar: every little bit we get right now from the trailer to Anya singing Downtown, to this behind the scenes thing it just makes you want to crave that candy bar even more with every small bite. I can’t wait to see and have this movie in my collection when it comes out the DVD because I want can’t wait to see all the behind-the-scenes things all the extras I think this movie is going to be one of the best thriller movies I’ve been out in a while and it’s not cliché and all the scenes that you can kind of think are going to happen you’re still gonna be surprised by it because it’s gonna throw you off guard and I think that’s what makes last night in Soho such a game changer for the thriller horror psychological
    Genre and I have to apply the writer of the Director all the cast that this is one of the few thriller movies that I actually wanna see and not just because of Anya and Matt this whole thing just entrance me from the first trailer and I’m I’m actually excited for this

      @@CheerUp2 My biggest problem was that if Eloise had such a strong "connection" with Sandie, why didn't she feel anything with Miss Collins? They never really explained why Eloise is the way she is at all, the whole thing of her seeing her dead mom in the beginning felt like it was going to be a plot thread to explain that, but it never did. Is she just crazy? As for the ending, I think it would've fit better if Eloise died from the poison...it would've fit the whole movie's idea of anti-nostalgia in a much more cynical and clear way, or at least in a more "adult" way than Sandie blowing her a kiss in the mirror. Romanticizing the past is a way to kill you/lose yourself & all that. Also I just thought all the ghosts stuff at the end was poorly done from a CGI standpoint and really didn't...add anything.

    Saw this movie later than I wish, but it blew me away! That said, this was the WRONG movie to watch on a Red Eye flight....nearly snapped my lunch tray off I was gripping it so hard. And sleep? Dear Lord, forget sleep....

    13:10 the comment about Edgar allowing being an idiot while writing a movie: I highly recommend watching bts stuff of him with Simon Pegg on for example Hot Fuzz! They were so laid back you kinda wonder how they achieved actually shooting that movie. 😂

    LOVED this movie!! The trailer was definitely misleading and made it look like a horror monster movie for some reason. Its more in line with Hitchcock or Shyamalan than it is a horror movie. Just watch it and trust me... you'll enjoy it!!
