I think The Infographics Show has confused the concept of "invading" with "occupying and subduing".
I was just looking for this kind of comment. The Infographics show put too much consideration into how the country defends itself, or how their allies help them when overcoming a war. The concept of invasion is to enter the enemy’s territory in order to loot resources or demolish structures, but not taking land or domesticating the local peoples.
Yeah. Invading, defeating, and conquering are all different terms.
I think they also know eff all about what "history has shown" when talking about Russia. Maybe we should ask the Mongols...

@groovinhooves when the Mongols invaded "russia" didn't exist, it was the kievan rus which was itself a lot smaller and divided into several principalities. Saying you can invade Russia and pointing at the Mongols as the example, is almost equivalent to saying you can invade the USA and then pointing at Europeans beating up the natives as the example.

I'm not sure about the army...because the battles fought by army mostly depends on the terrain and will rather than manpower or high tech equipment. As for the Navy and Airforce, yeah the US is unbeatable in those regards.

I thought the reason it would be impossible to invade Canada is because there is only one road across it, so even if you got in, it would be difficult to conquer both the east and west coast. 🤣
Canada could be easily invaded, as most of the population lives within 100 miles of the US border. There is, however, only one country that would be in a position to take advantage of that, which is the USA. That said, an external invader could seize parts of the country but would likely face US involvement
No offense to Canadians, but the rest of the world view Canada as a part of USA or one of their northern states. I don't know how Americans exactly feel about Canada, but Europe or Asia would never dare to cause trouble in Northern America (Canadian lands), simply because of the close proximity to U.S. military. It's just asking for suicide. ☠️ That's why some people hate USA. There is no way to come out on top, when facing the true super power on this planet, militarily or economically.
Same goes for attacking Mexico, you WILL get U.S. military involvement and that is just a monumental headache for the invader.

You forgot to mention Bhutan , they are one of the few countries in history which have not been invaded by any other country. also they have difficult terrain for armies and have got protection from India.

New Zealand, Chile, Iceland, Norway, etc. These places have difficult terrain (New Zealand has quite many volcanoes), mountains, and are isolated.
Norway was invaded and conquered by Germany in WWII. Iceland was invaded in WWII by Great Britain.

You forgot Australia. With our physical isolation, and surrounded by sea, the only way to attack us is by ship... and we have a fairly strong navy. We can also call on New Zealand for help, and like Canada, we're allies with the United States. We would come to their aid and they would come to ours.
We also have a landmass roughly equivariant to the continental USA... and can hide troops and resistance forces in the desert.

I think Switzerland also deserves to be on this list. Their natural geography in the Alps mountains makes the entire country a natural fortress. They also have mandatory military service and by law every citizen has to own and be able to operate a gun.
On their highway and railways they have rigged bombs on them to stop any enemy entering through flat terrain.

I think Mongolia Would be quite hard to invade as well not only because of the harsh conditions, the Goby desert, etc but also because there's no way to enter it unless you cross China or Russia.

Australia should also be on the list. It has a formidable military force, not to mention the hostile terrain of the Outback, which is so vast and inhospitable that it’s nigh impossible to take. Not to mention that it’s crawling with some of the most deadly wildlife on earth. The same goes for Brazil and the rest of South America. The Amazon alone makes it’s impossible to conquer. The dense jungles make for impossible odds to invade and hold, just ask the Spanish Conquistadors of that. Every single micron of that rainforest would be out to get any intruder. America also has a size and terrain advantage because we have a multitude of different environments and plenty of people that are willing to fight off any invasion even if the military or government falls. Many people know of plenty of places that it would be incredibly hard to effectively conquer and hold indefinitely. From Texas’s 1 million gun owners, to the mountain in the Appalachian states, to the deserts of the western states, to the swamps and forests of the southern states and even brutal winters in the northern states. The sheer size of our terrain alone is enough to give pause to any wound be conquerer. That’s why Germany never attempted an invasion in WWII (even though they had plans for it eventually) and why Russia or North Korea won’t attempt it now. They can soften it up with a nuclear strike but there would still be many survivors that would immediately work to retaliate. They might succeed in taking out a few vital targets but ultimately too many survivors would make them regret the decision by returning fire with our own nukes. In the end attacking the US is a suicide mission because of the mutually assured destruction that will follow.

As a texen I can confirm there are way more gun owners willing to fight.
I agree Australia would be hard to invade simply because of it's size and harsh terrain, however it's military is far from formidable. Our army is very small. Our air force has about 50-75 active fighter planes at any given time and our small submarine fleet is rapidly ageing and won't be replaced by US hunter killer subs until about 2040-2050. The navy does have some fairly capable ships but not enough for such a massive coastline. Our only real major military benefit is our alliance with the US. But Australia is so huge and spread out it would be almost impossible to occupy. An invading force would most likely take a port/airfields/city in the north like Darwin and try to establish a foothold.
I'm Canadian. The only country I've ever worried about invading is the US.

Afghanistan was conquered dozens of times by multiple different empires throughout the last 2 thousand years; only in modern times has that changed. The various horsemen tribes of the steppes (Huns, Mongols, etc) conquered Afghanistan repeatedly.
As for Canada, yes we're a beautiful land with giant boreal forests. You can invade us all you want as long as it's as a tourist 😁

Best way to attack a country with multiple time zones, is attack the area with the furthest ahead time zone first and then attack the zone a hour behind, they won't even know that you've invaded at all yet. :)

Most of Canadians do not live in the Arctic. Not including the border with Alaska, about 80% of Canada's population lives within an hour or so drive of the American border. And even at its most northern point, the border is still hundreds of miles from even the most southern point of what could be considered the Arctic.
You don't need to conquer the whole difficult landscapes of a country, you just take down several major economic centers and industrial bases will be enough for a subdual.

This is one of the reasons why (besides technology & such) the ancient Celts of mainland Europe didn’t stand a chance during the rise of the Roman Empire: because they were just a bunch of tribal groups that refused to work with each other most of the time.

Maybe it's not in everyones mind, but I would say Turkey also. During the world War 1 the United Kingdom, France, the ANZACS and many other allies tried to invade turkey 2 times and lost. And the amazing thing is, Turkey didn't have much military equipment to that time. Also the population was shrinked. As the Ottoman Empire felt, Turkey was there to stand his ground. They all woul rather die then getting invaded by the enemies. A Culture with people who wouldn't hesitate to protect their borders and families with their lives. Nowadays the Military strengt of turkey isn't to left out also. For example the Ukrainians use turkish drones which is their most important weapon against Russia

impossible is not correct. navy is very small in proportion to costal area; that main power line, if damaged put more than 50% of the country without energy/communications and often small planes with drugs fly in, undetected, from countries in northwest region. May not be easy but far from impossible.
The thing about the north korean military is that almost all of their equipment is positively ancient and most of it doesn't actually work because the parts dried up fifty years ago.

Per capita, Switzerland by far. They have very few pases through the mountains and all are littered with military bunkers. Nearly every house has a bomb shelter and many citizens have firearms. They have an incredibly strong military for their size and have remained neutral throughout every major European conflict. They are surrounded by NATO countries, meaning that an invasion of Switzerland would inherently mean invading NATO. The only countries that could avoid involving NATO are Austria and Liechtenstein, both of which would be annihilated by the Swiss army. The only way Switzerland could ever be invaded is if NATO attacked (I cannot imagine a scenario in which this happens). NATO could invade any country on the planet in the event of a war anyways

North-western part of J&K is a part of Indian territory and India shared a small land border with Afghanistan as well. Same goes for North-eastern part of J&K is entirely a part of Indian territory and China is far away from borders. You can check more on this over the internet. Hope that you fix this error in future videos.

As far as Afghanistan goes. I do believe it can be conquered. It all depends what kind of war you fight, and if you follow the Geneva convention. It can 100% be taken. The variables I mentioned are what holds countries back.

To invade Russia play defensively one the west and start your invasion from southeast, hold your big battalions on the west and push in from the east which has less cities and resistance it’s also warmer in the west of Russia during winter and once both sides are close enough put the west on the defensive. Also bring lots of food using air drops. Of course you could only do it over controlled territory but it would get close enough to ship to battle. And you would need lots of oil. So basically Europe and China would have to work together which is unlikely.
