When Ainz, disguised as Momon, hears what the Adventurer's Guild report about Shalltear, he wanted to do his best to divert attention and was about to tell them that that vampire's name was actually Carmilia, but then he remembered that This name is widely used in games or Anime for female vampires and if a Player from their world heard it, they could deduce that Shalltear is someone from Ygdrassil. So, flustered and hurried, Ainz made up Honyopenyoko's name without thinking of anything specific, except that it sounded completely different from Shalltear and Carmilia. Hence the name he invented is so silly. Adventurer Igvarge was a real piece of trash. He originally wanted to become a hero, but to do so he didn't mind resorting to dirty tricks like spreading false rumors about himself or using his companions as meat shields. For him all the others were but steps for him to reach the top. However, he was a hard worker and trained intensely, which caused him to intensely dislike Momon, who seemingly appeared out of nowhere and attained his mithril class in a single adventure. In the novel, Igvarge ran away alone when Albedo set out to kill all of his team members, but he unknowingly ended up trapped by one of Mare's spells. Mare then pinned him down and killed him by crushing his skull with her staff. The treasury door was designed by Tabula Smaragdina, the creator of Albedo, who as we know loved the Gap Moe very much. But he also had others passions and one of them was Alchemy, to the point where his player name meant "Emerald Tablet" which is a very famous Greek text on the subject and was believed to contain the secret to making the Philosopher's Stone. The password that Ainz pronounces is the translation of the line that is in Latin and that is a fragment of this Tablet. Even his three creations are also based on the Emerald Tablet. And since we talked about it, I should tell you that, although in the Anime they take too many time to mention it, Albedo has two sisters. The three were named and designed as an allegory to the three processes of Alchemy: Nigredo (putrefaction), Albedo (purification) and Rubedo (reconstitution). To this day we know almost nothing about Rubedo, except that she is very powerful and hides on the eighth floor. But we do know about Nigredo, who is an NPC specialist in magic detection and in the novel she is the one who locates Shalltaer. Pandora's Actor's name and theme is seemingly based off of the Greek Myth of Pandora's Box, where a single mortal woman named Pandora was gifted a box that contained all of the world's evils within by the Gods and was specifically told by them not to open it, but due to the Pandora's immense curiosity, she opened it and released all the contents into the world. This, in turn, is the basis to Pandora's Actor's role as the Area Guardian of Nazarick's Treasury, of which he is tasked with protecting the 11 World Items currently housed within that all possess the power to completely alter or possibly even destroy the world. The most significant sentence Pandora's Actor says to Ainz in the novel is: "Indubitably so, Lord Ainz! For as I was made by you, if you desire me to do battle with the other Supreme Beings, I shall charge into the fray without hesitation!" It is at this point that we confirm what I mentioned earlier: Normally NPCs will obey the orders of their creator even before those of other Supreme Beings. Now a new level of Ygdrasill's magic is revealed to us. For level 100 players the 10th tier of magic was the maximum and they had to use it carefully because it consumed a lot of MP and also some spells could consume Experience Points, which meant losing levels. This didn't matter much in the game because a player could recover Experience Points by killing monsters or doing quests, but in the New World it's not that easy. Ainz has many powers and powerful summons that he does not dare to use for fear of not being able to recover the Experience Points that they would cost. Also, there is a kind of eleventh tier of magic, which would be Super Tier Magic, however, its characteristics are different. First it doesn't consume MP, so it's more like a skill. So, bit of info about the guardians is that Shalltear is the strongest floor guardian who is capable of acting independently. Gargantua has higher stats, but isn't capable of acting without explicit orders, kinda like a robot. Albedo, Sebas, and Cocytus are considered to be on a similar level to each other, and outside of Victim (who we haven't met yet), Aura is the weakest guardian in single combat, since she relies on her pets instead. IIRC, Demiurge is also not especially powerful in combat, and Mare should be pretty strong. Shalltear stands above them all in combat prowess. That's why she guards three whole floors. And while it's true that Shalltear is a horrible match for Ainz (holy magic is strong against him, and her weapon prevents him from using his necromancy much), there's something more at play here. No guardian would be able to beat Shalltear in a 1v1. She's just too good in PVP. But Ainz isn't some pre-programmed NPC come to life. Ainz was a reasonably strong PVPer despite having a role-playing build that really isn't that well optimized for PVP. He is more flexible than the guardians are, even if several of them are smarter than him on paper (like Albedo and Demiurge, who are both considered super-geniuses). This part isn't really mentioned all that explicitly, but it's not really a spoiler to tell now. The state Shalltear is currently in is that she was mind-controlled, but left in place without orders. If you remember, the person who used the world item on her, lady Kaire, was impaled by Shalltear's attack right after, so she wasn't able to give Shalltear any orders.
The fact that Shalltear destroyed some of the enemies raised a question if the mind control happened at that moment and not a bit later, thanks for clarifying!

The part about Pandoras Actor being extremely embarrassing to Ainz is because the way he acts is a reflection of the way Ainz used to act during the time he made Pandoras Actor. All the Guardians seem to greatly reflect the nature and mannerisms of their creators, except for anything that is explicitly written in their "Lore". Some Guardians (and other NPCs) have very detailed, and comprehensive "Lore" and programing, and some have very little.

japan tand to relate americans and nazis as simbols of power. given the ww2 history. most Japanese males tend to go through a phase of roleplay. the player behind ainz never quite outgrew that phase. that's why you see him being so dramatic in his acting. also ains build is not really strong for PVP, he is top of the mid tier because he plans a lot of strategies. pandora's actor was created in this same manner.... over dramatic and cunning in battle. when they entered the room he never met albedo but knew tabula was her creator, he took on her form to lower her guard. there are 3 NPCs that are stronger than ains. RUBEDO who is mentioned but never shown, and one of Alberdo's sisters. GARGANTUA. whom you will see next season and SHALTEAR because she has a type or elemental advantage over the undead. her red armor is full PVP gear.
Honestly, I love how they really leaned into the MMO aspect of the backstory. One of the players in the guild was a Paladin, but his name was “TouchMe”, because 15yr old players would totally put a dirty joke as the name of a Paladin.

Honestly, I love how they really leaned into the MMO aspect of the backstory. One of the players in the guild was a Paladin, but his name was “TouchMe”, because 15yr old players would totally put a dirty joke as the name of a Paladin.
1. TouchMe is referring to how untouchable he is in a fight
2. He was an adult
3. I totally thought it was an immature joke as well till I read up on it.
