Thanks for the update my friend! Remember great things take time and I cannot stress enough how worth the wait a green tree monitor will be🦎! Thank goodness you didn’t fall for the scammer! Unfortunately the last few months there has been a surge in tree monitor sale scams which is super discouraging. Anyone wishing to purchase one should exercise extreme caution or purchase solely from reputable breeders! The enclosure is looking amazing. Reminds me that I have to get started on my adult enclosures for Sabzi and Basil soon! I think your idea to put orb weavers 🕷in that enclosure for now could be super interesting! I feel like Chips would just freak out in there 😂. Message me when you have any new tree monitor leads! Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏼🦎
There seems to be an upsurge in people scamming in the pet trade. Last summer it was dog scams in the Dallas Tx area. Not sure if they are still doing the scams though.

Same dude has made posts in Australian reptile sale groups stating he's in Australia and tried to offer tortoises for sale... which due to our native species only laws and that we have no native tortoises, outed himself immediately and left the group when a big group called him out for attempting to scam or if he legitimately was here for smuggling.
Yes, I agree. I want to get 2 emerald tree skinks as my first lizards. I have priced out what I need for a living habitat for them and hope to get it set up this month and then there is a local reptile show in the beginning of october that I want to see if there are any local breeders. Unless I can strap a saddle on and ride it to work, I'll take the 2500EU for a car payment. EDIT: Ok I wasn't the first person to think car money. Great video! And maybe you can write it off your taxes, because I can't!
Make sure you get a captive bred baby from a breeder, not an import. The WC or farmed (which just means they are WC from private property!) ones are very fragile after all they've been through being captured and transported in bags.
Before Covid i was seeing Green trees at around £500-£600, but at some point they jump to £1500-£2000, if you want something at a lower price, look at Timor monitors (you could get a trio), or even a trio of Austrian ridge-tail monitor 'Ackie's' full of character, but will need the enclosure more like the Bearded dragon (Dryer).
That first company seemed to have a need for a new public relations/response handler... he likely didn't communicate well and needed a translator and mistranslated your messages.
Actually there is A LOT of scamming going on in the animal breeding business- do you think maybe you might talk about it in a future video, maybe to inform people how to buy from good responsible and reputable breeders? I mean I know what to look for and what are immediate red flags, but maybe for some beginners it could be really helpful!
Sad thing is, that actually i have to deal with scams like that on daily basis, since i work in a bank. A lot of ppl send the money in a situation like this one. Good for you that you verified it and didnt lost your money. Great video as always, but i am sad you couldn't find the Green Tree Monitor. I was really looking forward to housing him in that EPIC enclousure.
It’s very common in the reptile trade to have a deposit for booking an animal. I’m a breeder. I personally don’t, I don’t really see the point in asking for a deposit from the buyer.. but I don’t often bring the animals to expo’s and such. The customer has to come to me and pick up the animal, maybe sometimes I meet up a buyer at some parking lot in the city (I do live kind of out of the way from everything) but usually it’s not much of an issue to get the customer to pick up their animal from my home. I also take some pride in that I won’t sell to just anyone. I interview potential customers to make sure that they know what they’re getting in to.
I love seeing animal breeders that don’t breed them just for profit then toss them into inexperienced people. I like that you make sure they know what they’re doing :) keep it up
@@calliebrown1005 well inexperience is not the only thing in play.. At some point to get experienced you need to just get the experience, you know. So i have no issue with letting someone purchasing their first snake from me. I look for other signs that the animal will go to a good home. I’m not a fan of the 11y/o that will take good care of the animal for a summer and then just stop caring.
That was a really exciting story you told us! Really hope that you find a breeder, cause we’re all looking forward to seeing a green tree monitor in the Dark Den. 😊👍
Great vid as always man and such a shame they attempted to scam you. Keep on searching! One point though - don’t put Chips in the enclosure as a gap filler, especially if just for a short time only. If he’s already a timid, stress-prone animal then putting him in a giant enclosure temporarily will do more harm than good. Keep him happy in his correct sized enclosure, and don’t piss him off more 🤣🤣
The Golden Orb Weaver sounds awesome. They are beautiful spiders. And huge. Sorry about the troubles you aer having in finding the monitor. You will find one eventually. The Den looks great.
I say "sir" and "ma'am" all the time, it doesn't matter the age of the person it's showing respect to the person I'm talking to..but as I get older and I'm the one being called ma'am by someone younger..it does make my eye twitch just a little lol
I call ppl sir and ma’am all that time. My family has been n the army for generations, and that’s just considered to b respectful. But I live n the US. I’m sure other places have different perspectives on it
Such a shame Chips is so skittish. A lot of Guineapigs are like that too because they are a prey animal ☹️. It can take years of them getting used to you. Feeding by hand usually is the best way.
I'm a snake breeder here in Europe and 25-50% deposit is a quite common thing. Even if you have a stand, you don't want to bring the more delicate species to the shows (unless you are 100% sure you will sell them) and risk unnecessary stress/parasite contamination etc. It happened to me multiple times that people swear to pick up the animal and never show up while I turned down other offers because of them. It's not fun :D also... I don't understand how a bike photo from Munich proves the guy is a scammer... Maybe he is, I don't know, but this seems little bit premature.
Sounds like the person that tried to sell me a trio of Uroplatus phantasticus a few years back. They wanted a 35% down payment even though they were taking them to the pet show that was going to happen that weekend. I said I would be at the show and pay the full amount there after seeing them. Never got a response back from them and they weren't even registered as a vendor at the show. Be careful when doing business online like this. Never pay anything upfront if they only want a certain percentage of the price. Most of the time they are scammers. You should see the price on some ball pythons in America. I've seen them go for over $6.000 UDS.
@@kpeezyforsheezy Not sure where you live but in Germany the average price for one is about 200 Euros for a CB baby. If you are talking about U. phantasticus. Emerald Tree Monitors you are going to be seeing them go between 1,500 Euros to 2,500 Euros for CB babies. In the States U. phantasticus go for 250 USD the last time I got some.... though that was over 12 years ago and at the San Diego Reptile Show. The nice thing about most shows is you can get a discount when you get more then one. As for Emerald Tree Monitors you're looking at around 2000 to 3000 USD the last time I looked at their prices.
Ball pythons are $60 all day and free if you have a little time to walk in the woods. I live in south Florida and pythons and boas are out of control. I had a 8 foot red tail boa constrictor I found that was as docile as a kitten. She got to about 10 foot and was to much snake for my apartment. I was able to find her a home and I just asked for 200$ for the vet bills I had up to that point. I thought it was a fair deal.
@@chrisleach4245 Yes for a basic wild form you can get for less than 100 USD but most morphs are well over 100 USD and some are well over 1k USD with some going for as much as 50k in the past. Look at Emerald Tree Monitors just 15 years ago, wild caught ones were going for 20+k plus import fees. One of my good friends and owner of a few pet stores in San Diego was one of the first in the country to get an adult pair of ETMs. Not sure if he kept them or not or even tried to breed them as I moved out of country not long after that and have lost touch with him. He spent nearly 60k for the pair when all was said and done. So the price of them today for CBs is well worth it, at least for someone like me where ETMs are a dream pet. But like most I just can't make myself shell out that kind of cash for one.
Personally, I think digging deeper and catching the guy in his lie was a really smart move instead of just bailing as soon as you figured out his scam. Idk. I believe catching a crook in the act is a lot more damning as evidence than finding their fingerprints.
When I'm good and ready I plan to buy a blue tree monitor from Brandon at Canadian Cold Bloods. I got my ackie from him and the little guy is doing excellent for the past 6 months that I've had him. No parasites, came healthy, and ate for me after getting acclimated in the first few days
In Germany I know two "pet shops" that maybe can get this monitor, Zoo Zajac and M&S Reptilien. They probably will not have them in "stock", but maybe know breeder that breed them and if they get them they are 200% legal.
Zajac often has imports and wildcaught animals, I dont know if thats the case with V. prasinus but a LOT of other animals are often times in.. well not really the best condition
Zajac could really have or can get one.but his prices are crazy. A baby jumping spider for 45€??? I think a monitor from there would cost 6000€ 😆 but you can buy a monkey there, why not a monitor
@@miximareike I know right?? I saw the baby jumpers last time I was there and forgot how to breathe for a sec LOL Only two animals I ever bought at Zajac were a green anole (which is still doing great to this day, he's been breeding perfectly!) and a baby gartersnake which passed away roughly 4-5 months after I bought her.. my care was perfect and she just randomly passed.. my guess is she got killed by the "random gartersnake death syndrome" which can happen when the animal was wildcaught and had endoparasites, which would mean they lied to me about her origins because when I asked if she was captive bred they said yes, she was bred in the zoo.. very weird
@@claytonsanchez5264 duh I know there another specie's that's my point. There nothing alike. And he wants tree monitors. And i meant to put that on a different persons comment who said tree monitors are like emerald tree skinks which there not. But I guess I accidentally put it on your comment instead.
I could imagine the german company had someone with pretty bad english skills. A lot of (especially) elder people have some... interesting language skills. They're most of the time just much more confident in german and don't like speaking english, although they could.
I NEVER buy from the internet. I have good connection with the terrarium store close to me (De Kameleon). They provide me with information about animals. They have a huge collection and know alot of breeders from years of connections. They are doing this for years and years and have good quality breeders animals. Even their feeder animals are only from tusted breeders and are always healthy. IF you want I can ask for you, Petko? Maybe I can help. I am going there this saturday.
You had Felix looking all adorable while he was sleeping. Then you get to Despacito looking like he was attempting to get comfortable 🤣 and of course Chips, jumps and hides, but he’s still amazing!
Best birthday ever ^^ waking up to a Dark Den video I have had two wild golden orb weavers in my garden, they are so beautiful ^^ they both laid a golden egg sack and then passed away as they do a few months after, the egg sacks have both just hatched last week and now I have about 600 babies that I am going to spread around my garden and my neighbours garden (they said it was fine XD) Most beautiful creatures and very Photogenic
100% get the orb weavers. They’re amazing. Been a arachnophobic all my life but from watching this channel and seeing how you are with them I managed to go into the open orb weaver enclosure at London Zoo. And they are amazing to look at.
Seems like everything has gone up in price due to COVID. Even green tree monitors. Makes sense to wait until the market cools down and use the enclosure for something else. Looking forward to whatever you put in there bud!
Lmao I love everything about this channel but I have to say I’m surprised you didn’t check the price and availability on them before setting everything up! Whatever does go in there, is going to be very happy. The orb weaver idea is pretty dope tbh. At a zoo around here, they have a couple of them and they’re only enclosed at night. During the day, the glass gets taken away and they’re basically there in all their glory. It’s quite a crazy sight.
Green trees in my area are $1500 usd and they are imported wild animals. Always surprises none reptile people when I tell them all of my snakes where 900-1300$ usd and that’s somewhat cheap. Reptiles are expensive monitors are in another league. We have been looking into a couple different monitors. $4000-$9000 is common. 4K being wild caught and 9k being captive breed. Gj in your hunt hope you get something. Love the channel.
I'm not sure if you're interested in looking within the UK, but I know there's some here! My local reptile shop (Reptile Cymru) has had some very recently
I know how you feel man. Last year I attempted to find a Golden Retriever puppy. Couple of people I contacted gave me the run around. One gave me a discription that the dog would be a maximum of 13lbs as an adult. Goldens should be 55lbs-60/65lbs. If not more.... (looking at my 110lbs golden.)Another one would not give me pictures or prices, and the third said they had just moved to L.A. California. I eventually gave up when I found multiple posts with different phone numbers with the same stock google pictures. Apparently the three people I contacted were the same scammer. I think they were trying to pass off pomerainians, or some other small breed dogs as golden retrievers. Keep searching, you will find your monitor, and it will be well worth the wait. Love your videos.
As someone who dabbles in electrical wiring, I squirmed when Petko showed his electrical outlets were right next to a plastic water tank. My safety senses are screaming that's a bad idea.
Talking about animals prize, I was looking for buy a new chow-chow (breed of dogs) that I really love them. I contacted couple of official breeders here in Spain and they all tell me the same, 1800-2500 per puppy. Insanely expensive!!! At the end I am going to go to a rescue for a lovely dog that will need my help. Pity that there is not reptile rescue to help them and you.
I’m an American and I’ve helped my father raise and sell puppies. He will give people as much information about his dogs as they want. No hesitation. The way you sell the animal is by being a good businessman and being respectful of people’s situations. A question as simple as the size of the monitor is so easy to answer. I agree with you. I imagine they would be easier to find in the US but I guess you can’t safely ship them that far. Best of luck man!
My local reptile store had one, also has a lot of contacts she could ask. Animal Corner Pijnacker in the Netherlands, they usually have a stand at the reptile expo in Houten
I absolutely love that you are sharing this story!🥳🥳 There are sooooo soooo so many scam artists out there🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟...that are screwing people out of their hard earned money! It's like a bunch of vultures out there. It's like get a real job and stop hurting others! Nice job Petco!😎😎 Give them hell!😡🤬😡
Well 1000€ for a V. prasinus is a really good price rn, the other species from the Prasinus genus are all going for 1500€ or even more. They are all that expensive cause there are not much people that have luck breeding them often and frequently, and they are also all rare species.
My goodness that enclosure deserves a special animal! I'm sorry for the attempted scam, my wife and I experience a similar situation. I'm not sure what the market is like in EU for certain reptiles, but if you're looking to fill that enclosure have you considered a leachianus gecko? They are particularly cute when they are socialized adults. Maybe they are a little more affordable while you're building the warchest to purchase a green tree monitor.
i remember different sellers when i went to an expo in belgium but sadly no expos till covid is done, i think maybe, if you go to hamm , you can check the table list and see wich breeders sell what
Don’t worry my dear Petco, i am positive you will indeed get your Tree Monitor very soon. Just be a little patient, and you will definitely have a beautiful specimen in your lovely display. Peace & (lots of) Love ✌️ Your best friend, From the UK 🇬🇧
If you’re not 100% committed to a tree monitor you should check out gastropholis prasina. You could have a pair or trio easily in there. They are like smaller green tree monitors in my opinion. Very active, and they make lovely display animals. They can be handled if you tame them down like you would a monitor. They are very curious lizards!
Underground Reptiles out of FL tried to scam me. Refused to ship a purchased animal for over a month then wouldn't offer a refund, wanted to keep 20% These people need to be named and called out.
One day you will be the proud keeper of one very happy and healthy monitor 🥰 The care you're providing is both exceptional and thorough. Great job leading by example!! You deserve every rewarding moment you're going to have with your future companion and we'll be looking forward to seeing it all coming together when that happens. Keep on keeping on! 🐛🍃🦋
Good for you, Petko, for trusting your instincts. It's not that green tree monitors are expensive, it's that people are trying to inflate the price in hopes of making more money. I like the idea of putting orb weavers in the enclosure, but whatever you decide to do will be good, I'm sure. Take care & stay safe. See you next Monday.
Buying a puppy in the US currently costs $3,000-$5,000 for purebred dogs but also all the recently “created” breeds of various mixes. The demand for dogs is so incredibly high because of Covid that breeders have just continued raising their prices for the past two years. It’s absolutely crazy. Five years ago or sheltie puppy from a high-quality breeder would have been about 800 USD and now it’s between $3000 and $4000.
@@TheDarkDen in America and also Canada it is standard practice in the reptile industry to ask for a non refundable 25% deposit for an animal you are asking to be held. Canadian Cold Blooded Reptiles where Dayyan purchased his tree monitors practice this and it is on their website terms page. I can’t speak for any other interaction you had with the seller but the deposit part is standard. Especially for a rare and highly sought after reptile like a tree monitor. Good luck in your search.
In Belgium it is super common when giving all the informations that there is a non refundable deposit when you want to reserve a reptile (all the breeders I know and myself ask a 25 to 50% deposit even if people tell us they will come the next day or some days later or at a show because we have SO MANY people saying yes I buy it and then find excuses not to take the animal that we loose a lot of time and opportunities to sell the animals to someone else) So I am not shocked by that either
Petko, I could be wrong but I think the thermometer attachment you have in the Terrarium is for underwater. The hard plastic or nylon one is for water the metal one is for open air. You might have to calibrate that thermostat a couple degrees.
Thank you for All the content You put out . I also really enjoy that for your base is tarantula , but you also show other spiders and reptiles and other insect . And you use a schedule for your show. But the part that I was really imp impressed with is that you showed the reality of How scum artist not a typo can come from aNYwhere . But the best was also how you even broke it down on how you were able to show him his b.s even tho. You could already smell it .this could really help someone else who is new and younger or gullabull. So again much respect for the hour's that you have put in , but gj on keeping it on a theme but we while adding things I wasn't expecting to see the disecting of the scammer.
I understand how you feel about this and I really wished there is anything how I could help but actually I have zero experience with it. I love to watch your Videos but I dont have any pet myself. Only spiders who are nativ here and coming in the house from outside.
Hey Petko, where'd you get the thermostat you're using for the deep heat projector? Or what brand is it? I can't find any dimming thermostats here in Czechia :( How bad would you say an on-off thermostat would be for the deep heat projector? Also, I wish you good luck with getting your dream monitor :)
Petko, have you thought about going to that reptile show in Holland, I think that is where you said it is. You may have a better chance at getting the animal you want from a reptile show. If there is one close enough to you, I think it has got to be worth a try.
That UFO building is called "Futuro House". Designed by Finnish Architect Matti Suuronen. It's a prefab gig and it represented the embracing of the future in the 60s and 70s. Cool building really often turned into off grid dwellings!
I mean, I bought a pair of Gastropholis prasina from Snake Discovery and Emily required a 50% deposit on them. So I don’t think asking deposits is that uncommon. Which BTW, if you haven’t looked into the prasina lizards, you need to. They are like little green tree monitors. Super smart, super fun to work with, and they have a fantastic feeding response.
@@TheDarkDen Yea, he also does stuff like that on expos asking you for detailed pictures of the enclosure and stuff before selling and will sometimes even outright tell you to leave if you don't "look like his clientele"
If you still can't find it, I think you should contact the reptile seller in indonesia, the price will be from 1000$ only, the reptile keeper in Vietnam is still raising them, they are quite beautiful
I don’t know how it happened but you disappeared from my subscriptions section for a whole month! I was wandering where you went and I was quite surprised you had been posting when I went to check on your channel. Hi thanks for your video it made my day as I was recently scammed by that person for the same animal but as a new person in the reptile hobby did not know any better and did not catch on quickly enough 😞 and has now put me off for finding animals outside the UK
Hey Petko, There is a place in Essex, called Cold Blooded they are really friendly and they sell alot of different types of reptiles and such. You can give them a go. Kind Regards, Boba.collector.
Glad you didn't get scammed, that would have been a major setback (financially and also for your motivation to get a monitor). The enclosure looks better and better! And I like the plan of putting orb weavers inside, although you would probably need new feeders (not sure if the web supports roaches). I see you still got the little bearded dragon on the floor, any updates on his health situation? Whilst I'm glad it is still enjoying your loving care I'm still worried about that little bugger, it looked so sad when you featured him in the ant queen video!
Sorry about the GTM, but I am excited about a GOS! The pics and videos of the monitor made me want one. They look so trainable and friendly. But a huge orb weaver sounds awesome too. Good luck finding either of those. 🦎🕸
Sorry to hear you encountered that kind of breeder. Breeders that feels that answering ppl's questions are a waste of time are not professionals and does not deserve your business.
I am also a spider owner. I think that the animals are basically sold too cheap in Europe. They are animals, living beings. The high price for a varan is justified in my opinion. So people are first sorted out, who only (I exaggerate now once slightly) want to make a party joke with such a beautiful exotic animal. As I said. It is a hobby. We are enthusiasts. So it may also cost something. Then the appreciation is incomparably higher than if it is hawked for low prices. Interesting vid as always. Thank you very much.
Petko. A quick web search revealed a male& female pair for $2400 and a juvinile for $1400 here in the US Prices do seem to have gone up on everything since the lock down etc. Those prices do not include shipping which would be an additional $80 It has been a long time since I have kept monitors but 2700 euro seems a bit high to me. Good luck with your search, I'm sure you will find a legit breeder.
Dang, that sucks. Maybe this is just not the time. Glad you didint get scammed and thanks for sharing and spreading awareness of what to look out for. Man, I didint think theyd be nearly that expensive eather. Yeiks! Good luck! Hope you can get a good captive baby for a reasonable price soon!
Pro tip. When you are communicating via text or email and the other party gives short answers, does not capitalize or punctuate correctly, uses slang spelling (ppl instead of people), just stay away. These are not definite signs of a scammer, but they are pretty good indicators. Plus, who wants to deal with someone who can't be bothered to communicate clearly and correctly, especially when conducting business.

Correction: Australian ridge-tail monitor. I would have edited my post, but i'd lose my Petko ❤ 😁.
That's pretty crazy. Around here you can still find people selling them for around $700-1000 for adults.
Yes, COVID pandemic changed animal marked. Now is harder to buy animals and prices gone up, meanwhile the range of them got poorer
You can find Varanus Prasinus at the Ferme Tropicale in Paris but they cost 3000€... On the other a green tree python would be perfect there!
I don’t think they are captive bred.
But, I could be wrong.
I remember when they had blue tree monitors. The price was unbelievable.
Bugzuk has orbweavers for sale and ships internationally. I believe they have several different species available at the moment
Thanks, I'll check it out!

Thanks for the reference, I love orb weavers and I'm gonna check them out
@@feroxsayshello518 no worries!
Do they still ship to EU despite Brexit?

Sir is just a sign of respect I live in the south of U.S and people call everyone sir. Huh difference in people around the world
The term Sir/Madam isn't often used in Europe like it is in the US
Great vid as always man and such a shame they attempted to scam you.
Being called ma'am has always bugged me lol. But I definitely call everyone sir for some reason lol
As a man, I can confirm it is weird being called ma'am
@@qpeluso Lol. Sometimes what some men find weird, others insist on when shopping at say umm..Game Stop!
I call ppl sir and ma’am all that time. My family has been n the army for generations, and that’s just considered to b respectful. But I live n the US. I’m sure other places have different perspectives on it
When someone calls me ma'am I tell them it is better if they call younger ladies 'MISS'.... I LIKE THIS BETTER
Such a shame Chips is so skittish. A lot of Guineapigs are like that too because they are a prey animal ☹️. It can take years of them getting used to you. Feeding by hand usually is the best way.
That's a impressive set up 😱🦎 good luck in your search!!
Good to know! I was just looking online for one and got a little discouraged by the prices I saw. I’ll keep looking :]
@@chrisleach4245 thank you so much for not contributing to that.
The last braches really made it the perfect enclosure for a Green Tree Monitor. Looks awesome! 🔥🦎
I saw the baby jumpers last time I was there and forgot how to breathe for a sec LOL
Only two animals I ever bought at Zajac were a green anole (which is still doing great to this day, he's been breeding perfectly!) and a baby gartersnake which passed away roughly 4-5 months after I bought her.. my care was perfect and she just randomly passed.. my guess is she got killed by the "random gartersnake death syndrome" which can happen when the animal was wildcaught and had endoparasites, which would mean they lied to me about her origins because when I asked if she was captive bred they said yes, she was bred in the zoo.. very weird
That enclosure would be great for a pair of Emerald Tree Skinks!
In my opinion there way different in looks.
@@MGk-Farmer Well of course they look different, they're another species.
@@claytonsanchez5264 duh I know there another specie's that's my point. There nothing alike. And he wants tree monitors. And i meant to put that on a different persons comment who said tree monitors are like emerald tree skinks which there not. But I guess I accidentally put it on your comment instead.
Skinks also aren't that intelligent and interesting compared to monitors. Imho not even an option
@@need_more_kittens that's exactly what I was thinking.
Hmm sure, send me a dm on IG!

Best birthday ever ^^ waking up to a Dark Den video
I have had two wild golden orb weavers in my garden, they are so beautiful ^^ they both laid a golden egg sack and then passed away as they do a few months after, the egg sacks have both just hatched last week and now I have about 600 babies that I am going to spread around my garden and my neighbours garden (they said it was fine XD)
Most beautiful creatures and very Photogenic
100% get the orb weavers. They’re amazing.
Been a arachnophobic all my life but from watching this channel and seeing how you are with them I managed to go into the open orb weaver enclosure at London Zoo. And they are amazing to look at.
Seems like everything has gone up in price due to COVID. Even green tree monitors. Makes sense to wait until the market cools down and use the enclosure for something else. Looking forward to whatever you put in there bud!
Hmm you think the pandemic is also affecting pet prices? That's interesting, any idea why or you just guessing?
With him calling you Sir. That's a sign of Respect here in America
To be honest here you're stretching. Because I wont meet with no one without a deposit either. I see nothing sketchy from this dude
I'm not sure if you're interested in looking within the UK, but I know there's some here! My local reptile shop (Reptile Cymru) has had some very recently
This guy is notorious for his scams, he uses a lot of stolen pictures
hate all the damn scammers in the hobby.
Dabbling with electrical wiring isn't necessarily safe either.
Well, no leaks for now :P
I would be Interested in this monitor too. Do you have an adress of this store?
2:12 the music and Petko poking the probe fits so well hahaha
i remember different sellers when i went to an expo in belgium but sadly no expos till covid is done, i think maybe, if you go to hamm , you can check the table list and see wich breeders sell what
I love the enclosure!!
Don’t worry my dear Petco, i am positive you will indeed get your Tree Monitor very soon. Just be a little patient, and you will definitely have a beautiful specimen in your lovely display.
Peace & (lots of) Love ✌️
Your best friend,

If you’re not 100% committed to a tree monitor you should check out gastropholis prasina. You could have a pair or trio easily in there. They are like smaller green tree monitors in my opinion. Very active, and they make lovely display animals. They can be handled if you tame them down like you would a monitor. They are very curious lizards!
Underground Reptiles out of FL tried to scam me. Refused to ship a purchased animal for over a month then wouldn't offer a refund, wanted to keep 20% These people need to be named and called out.
One day you will be the proud keeper of one very happy and healthy monitor 🥰
The care you're providing is both exceptional and thorough. Great job leading by example!!
You deserve every rewarding moment you're going to have with your future companion and we'll be looking forward to seeing it all coming together when that happens. Keep on keeping on! 🐛🍃🦋
Sadly there are alot of bad people out there.. well, nice terrarium.
So true!.
Facebook apparently doesn’t have a button for reporting a seller as a scammer. The closest thing I found was spam, but he’s not a robot.
Got one of those "space ship" houses over here in the states too. One close to me is in Ohio. Interesting to see them else where lol.
The enclosure looks so good!
Sabsi and Basil cameos! ♥️♥️♥️

deposit is pretty standard, at least for dogs. i got my dogs from breeder and had to pay deposit.
yeah but I assume deposit was not the first thing it was mentioned when discussing xD
In Belgium it is super common when giving all the informations that there is a non refundable deposit when you want to reserve a reptile (all the breeders I know and myself ask a 25 to 50% deposit even if people tell us they will come the next day or some days later or at a show because we have SO MANY people saying yes I buy it and then find excuses not to take the animal that we loose a lot of time and opportunities to sell the animals to someone else)
So I am not shocked by that either
Petko, I could be wrong but I think the thermometer attachment you have in the Terrarium is for underwater. The hard plastic or nylon one is for water the metal one is for open air. You might have to calibrate that thermostat a couple degrees.

Petko, have you thought about going to that reptile show in Holland, I think that is where you said it is.
You may have a better chance at getting the animal you want from a reptile show. If there is one close enough to you, I think it has got to be worth a try.
Meining terraristik in Stuttgart Germany sells a prasinus 1.0 from 10/2019 for 2999,99€ that’s the only one I could find in the hurry.
That UFO building is called "Futuro House". Designed by Finnish Architect Matti Suuronen. It's a prefab gig and it represented the embracing of the future in the 60s and 70s. Cool building really often turned into off grid dwellings!
Nice video. You seem like a chill dude. Sorry for the struggle with the monitor. Hopefully, it all works out for you.
Exactly my experience with German Monitors, the owner doesn't seem to want to sell anything

He is no far more active than it got here so he is definitely better!
Check Backwater Reptiles or Underground Reptiles for the monitors, however I'm pretty sure they only ship in the USA, not international.
Petko.
A quick web search revealed a male& female pair for $2400 and a juvinile for $1400 here in the US
Prices do seem to have gone up on everything since the lock down etc. Those prices do not include shipping which would be an additional $80
It has been a long time since I have kept monitors but 2700 euro seems a bit high to me. Good luck with your search,
