That was probably the gentlest tarantula pairing I've seen. Slowly approached each other, coupled without issue, and immediately backed off and went their separate ways. You can't ask for it to go any better than that.
After I saw that screen, I was like “oh no. The days of Petko not noticing when his camera stops recording are over.” Good to know my fears were totally unfounded hahaha!
Astonishing how you 'upgrade' the allready stunning Dark Den! I have ONE (imo Huge) Trinidad chevron lady, and that's enough! brrrrrrr hihi Keep it up! Superchannel! 🔆
You make everything look so easy. Congrats to your fluffy boy! He did a good thing! I felt a little bad for him when he freaked out on your hand though. Plop. Lol. But he survived it all! I'm super excited to see what's going to happen with that aquarium though. And the Nephila!!
Regarding your internet connection. We had that problem too in our house. No wifi repeaters could reach the basement. BUT the solution was to go for a FRITZ powerline setup. It is a bist costly, like around 150€ but it works like a charm since it transfers the signal through the power wires of the house. Hope you see this Petko! :)
Also, powerline adapters vary with your electrical system. In my experience 9 times out of ten they aren't effective. Your refrigerator, a/c or heating unit, etc. can interfere with the signal and if you're in an apartment you probably have no chance at a good connection. For about the same price you can get a router or switch and run ethernet instead to maintain your full connection speed.
Hey Petko! I just say this is my favorite UA-cam channel ever! I went from being deathly afraid of any and all spiders to owning my first 2 slings now. I got a GBB and a Antilles pink toe (C. Versicolor) as my first and they are amazing! I learned everything about their care basically from watching you and your "cute little fuzzers" and they're thriving! I would love to see you do some species specific videos, especially on the versicolor since there's so misinformation surrounding them. But thank you for everything you do!
So excited for the Nephila babies!! I love coming across an orb weaver on its web outside my house; they're so beautiful and fun to watch (when they're actually active😅). It'll be really interesting to watch them grow!
Wow, this is really early. Your videos usually show up around 2pm central US time, this time it was 2AM Central US. Couldn't sleep so noticed the video. Nice to have something to watch while I have insomnia.
11:32 They're so gorgeous and furry! And the females coloration is so pretty, she's almost peachy on her toes and kinda strawberry blonde further up her legs and the male is a nice, soft toupe color with a touch of moss. They're both so beautiful. I'm so glad their pairing looks to be successful and that your boy survived the encounter. He's such a handsome guy, would be a shame to lose him in that manner.
It would be really cool to see one of the underwater spider species in the aquarium! I know we have fish/tadpole eating marsh spiders here in the UK but never seen one! :)
I like the new arrangement. The only concern I have is, you had the table against the wall to keep escapees from getting back behind the table. Did you block off that corner behind the monitor? Also, sorry about your green tree monitor woes. I was really looking forward to that addition.
If trying to extend the Ethernet cord from your router to your basement turns out to be too hard, I recommend getting a WiFi signal booster. Some even have built in Ethernet ports you can use for nearly the same internet speeds
Woah, pairing 2 pairs simultaniously! I could not. But you have much more experience, i let my T's mate only twice . I was more afraid than my male T, really i was sweating like a hog during both times lol! Awesome vid again!
That mantis looked interesting. Is it a Gongylus gongylodes? We have a Hierodula membranacea named Venus (after the fly-trap plant.. 😎). I am thinking about getting some taratulas, perhaps Dilochoetele diamantensis and Psalmopoeus cambridgei. Need to persuade the wife and daughter first. My six year old son on the other hand, thinks big hairy spiders is an excellent idea. 😀
Dude, great video! On the wall that you just rearranged with two sets of shelves, It looks like the second shelf from the top on the right side is bending due to the weight of the six tarantula habitats. Could use some extra bracing. You can really see it at 1:15
Fab update on all your new projects. I have to say I laughed when you said he was a mature male and I don't blame him running for cover when she started to make an appearance.
Rough but gentle sexy time, also googled the smallest tarantula... you have to wonder if they can see the tiniest details being that small sometimes. (like plant cells or tiny granules we can't normally see individually)
Please, please, please!!! Make sure when you start your streaming you use a direct line, wifi isn't the best for it. I'm not a collector but absolutely love your channel. You actually are inspiring. Keep up the great work.....
Hey petko, have you considered trying some powerline adapters for your network? It essentially is a plug with Ethernet ports. You have one by your PC and one by the Router and if the basement is on the same circuit (I think) as the upstairs, it should give you internet to your PC! I use TPLink ones personally and they're awesome!
Haha don't let the door hit you on the way out 🤣 i never thought i would hear you say something like that. Awesome pairing quick and a safe exit 🤞 its a success 😊 Speaking of babies do you think Mia would let you show us a photo of her growing belly pregnancy is such a beautiful thing and such a blessing all 3 of my eldest children have all just had baby boys 24th July 26th July and 16th august so I now have 5 grandchildren 2 beautiful girls Mia 4 years old.and Sophie is 3 years old and the 3 boys 😊😊 i am very blessed
@The Dark Den, before you consider streaming. You should buy one of those Microscopes that connet to a computer. So you can do that type of streaming too. Look up-close on dead spiders and what not.
U can get a wifi booster that will match the speed as up stairs and if them company say they will provide a certain amount of WiFi through put the house they should provide the booster too
the Router and modems should be installed in basement as the send a signal like a half bubble ( wifi all around , but nothing under) hope that makes sense and helps .
Are you setting up a shrimp tank?! (You seem to like inverts) If you are I highly suggest getting Neocardinas (dont mix colours) and Atya gabonensis they make a perfect community. Atya are incredibly beautiful and clean beautifully and are like naked hamster shrimp haha
Good to see another video the Dark Den is looking AMAZING!!!!!!! Your much braver than I would have been I would have taken the male out right away I'm a chicken like that when it comes to the female potentially getting aggressive though he took much coaxing in the right direction I think he did well with help from you that is LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Petko ! Don't want to say shit but your P. Pulcher male looks weirdly more like a P. Cambridgei isn't it ? If it's the case I can't wait to see this "hybrid" offspring xd
Hey bro.. I was just going to say that you haven't done a hubba hubba video in a long time...😉😆 They should be a video due by now... But I will say this the enclosure are too small for them to do haba haba time in. So in the future I would try to put them in something else so they have room (male) to back up and get out of there if they need to safely.. just speaking my mind
I been watching alot of tarantella videos lately and it really had me wondering alot.. See i used to have a Tarantella.. (Dont know the species but i live in Norway) I used to handle him everyday like holding him, letting him run onto my arms to my shoulders and generally just letting him climb around me or on my table. i would say on average i had him free and holding him 4-5 hours every week. Now i see alot of people saying DONT handle them without gloves and etc.. Soooo was i just incredibly lucky not to EVER get bitten or? :S
I would so love to be able to order some of your slings from these pairings one day! I'm in the US so I know it's unlikely to happen but a girl can dream right! Lol

be4 finishing the full video, id like to add that a before and after would be a good comparison of the remodeling you did
indeed, I have before and after pictures that I will post on IG though, this video got released earlier by mistake y.y

Much easier to just drill a hole through the floor and run a direct cable and not depend on wifi at all.
@@rdizzy1 drilling through the floor is not always easy^^ Especially on old houses^^
Love your videos and the enthusiasm you have for all of your beasties
What a morning treat! So excited to hear about all the upcoming projects!

New camera positioning looks awesome.
I love that tiny male.
Setting the Enclosure up like a Cheep Motel with Mirrors on the walls and Ceiling all you needed was Sexy Time Music and a Vibrating Bed. LOL!
he did have some sexytime music on :D
What a gift!
Surprised that you uploaded it early. Good thing I'm already awake. 😬

A fishing spider or diving spider would be super cool. Never actually seen one hunting before.
Only on a film from Sir Attenborough, but never live sadly! The fishing one is a wolfspider type?

You can breed Davus pentaloris once the female reaches 4" in legspan. So breed them before that aswell

Hey Petco have you considered delivering the little guy via tube? Get him right where you want him with a kitchen roll tube?
@The Dark Den, before you consider streaming. You should buy one of those Microscopes that connet to a computer. So you can do that type of streaming too. Look up-close on dead spiders and what not.
Excellent video loved it
I love the changes in the den room
WiFi signals and radio frequencies have a hard time traveling underground so if you are in your basement expect your WiFi to be weak most of the time.
you seem to have great sucsess with pairing i know its normal for her to eat him but I'm
always so happy when he lives to see another day :)
the face when the MM falls off your hand was priceless
you can look into MOCA adapters to convert any pre-existing coax port into ethernet if there is one coax in your basement
Hello from Scotland! 🎉

I had a very tiny MM as well. He was a harpactira pulchripes. I thought he was too tiny for pairing but I never tried it.
Do you keep a logbook of all the successful and unsuccessful pairings?
Seems marriage has given you newfound passion and its showing even in your thumbnails! Lol you look so funny!
Not sure if it’s a visual effect made by the camera but the shelves look like they are bowed down in the middle..
How can I see the female is adult?
I bet the H.himalayana hasn´t spun a sperm web already, have you seen one in that tiny 25ml cup?

If you're planning on live streaming, you should run a cable down anyway. WiFi is way too unreliable to stream on, especially when cable is an option
