Steve just had it with all the bs that happened in past years. Hes a great drummer and deserved better treatment overall.
Steve was a founding member. Yet cut him off. Im so glad he's now filled the shoes of the now defunct Tom Barnard. Steve is a fun personality.

@@TheJinjo75 this is more than just the songs. Both gorman and the other guitar players were fundamental part of the SOUND. And that is more than just the two brothers. It was a band.
If either of the Robinson bros. say that someone was a negative force you know they are just projecting. The Robinsons are their own worst enemies.
Marc Ford and Steve should at least be part of this 'reunion'. 92-96 was the best lineup.

You're exactly right. Incredibly talented those two brothers. But they can't seem to get out of their own way. And they'll blame it on anyone except themselves.
Rich essentially told jimmy page to buzz off when he offered to write with them and kept that exhchange a secret for years. Says it all , really. No matter how great a rock band you have, not you nor anyone else can even touch zeppelin , and you have to have something wrong with you to turn down jimmy page without whom there would be no bands like the crowes
Ego is the reason. What a fucking shame. Imagine some of the songs that could have been created.
Without Sven Steve or Marc it’s just the Robinson brothers. Not the Black Crowes. I have been a Crowes fan since 90. If half of the book is true, and I believe it is, it’s astonishing to me that Steve lasted as long as he did. Just the fact that Rich insulted Jimmy Page by turning his offer to help down was probably the dumbest move in Rock band history. Who does that?
Jimmy Page was at the time still on the smack and a mess. Doing a few shows is one thing...joining the band entirely different.

I believe that it's "all good." It's just that I remember how good it truly was with Steve, Jeff, Marc, Johnny, and Ed. There were problems, sure, but the music was driving it all onward and upward--their creativity in full swing. That's the point in their arc when you wanted to catch that band, because it sparked of magic, and they delivered on that promise.
Everyone hates everyone. That said I still caught the recent tour and the brothers kicked ass. Was great to see Sven up there too

No way to disguise or sugar coat it. The comments on this video show the fans know the real story. The book Hard to Handle really connected the dots as to why this Band was dysfunctional. Rich Robinson did make history; who else could be that dumb to turn down Jimmy Page? Magpie Salute rekindled the Robinson Ford connection. Not sure why Marc wasn't given a chance to do the reunion. Perhaps, it is all about the money. Shake your Money Maker eh Rich and Chris?
For one they was two kids just out of high school thrown into a adult world finding plenty of trouble for both to get in to! Brothers fight! They grew up! 30 plus years and the band is still awesome! And still kicking ass on tour!

@@babaganoosh105 yeah I don't understand this money grab thing. They are a band and bands get paid to tour. That's what they are doing. The reason Gorman is nothing the line up is they fell out. There is no question the brothers are not angels (being polite) but it doesn't change the fact they are entitled to tour. I've also heard fans moan about Marc Ford not being back in the band. He hasn't officially been a member of the band in 20 odd years.
Without him the sound and magic isn’t the same. The 93-94 line up is critical to the sound. Marc Ford is critical, I don’t understand these great bands thinking that others are dispensable. I will never go see the Crowes without Gorman, just won’t sound like the Black Crowes. We PAY you to play together, we don’t care if you like each other. We suffer due to saving money or big egos.Just like KISS, without the Original 4 they suck. Guys, get the Southern Harmony musical companion band back together and I will buy 4 tickets tomorrow, no matter the price. Let’s go!

What a passive- aggressive lil punk, these toxic siblings drove Marc Ford into rehab, and ruled the day with their drama. Johnny Colt, Steve Gorman, and Marc Ford have no desire or need to join this "tour" and Eddie Harsch has passed on (to Rick n Roll heaven?).

Yea, in 2016 Rich was taking the piss outta Chris for the shares/interest demand Chris responded with (mentioned in this video) , in an article I read . Now, all of a sudden it's Steve who gets the piss taken out of. Everyone is a hypocrite , no one is perfect, but c'mon : is your little band so precious that it should destroy life long bonds and relationships? They should have phoned of Johnny, Marc and Steve -met for dinner and drinks and hammered out a real reunion. Let's be honest here: they were a great band , but FFS, they aint Led Zeppelin, or the Stones or Van Halen etc...

LIVE have once again broken up, its almost the same problem with the Black Crowes. Now Ed Kowalczyk is the only singer and member left, he fired everyone. So its the same situation, with Chris and Rich Robinson starting over in 2022

Apparently they were fantastic at New Orleans jazz festival a month or so back.
If the Robinson brothers ever go out of their way to address anything, it's always only when they're guilty as charged. Two meaner people might not exist.

It’s a damn shame they put all of this petty stuff behind them and just go out and play.
Great drummer. But, anyone who admits no faults in a decades long relationship falling apart is not telling everything. Notice there's 2 Black Crowes on their merch, thats because it was the Robison brothers who wrote the songs, melodies, etc. The Black Crowes would've made it without Gorman (esp the first 2 albums) but it's not safe to assume Gorman would've been nearly as successful as a drummer without the opportunity with the Crowes. Read his history.
I will say he added some great drumming to the songs....great drumming and it's unfortunate that he is no longer in the band. It's tough to heal a familial relationship with a third party intermixed. I'm not saying the guy lies. I am stating he is telling a story from his perspective and his perspective sees himself as not contributing to the BS. Life and decades long relationships don't work that way.
After all that, I do wish they could've worked things out.

For all the haters out there. I started going to shows since the 90’s. I love all prior band make ups. I followed magpie and trigger hippy, and CRB. Their dad is dead. They finally got back together as BROTHERs. I’d happily listen to brothers of a feather or the new black crowes but first family needs to mend. And they sound actually incredible right now. Isiah is finally firing off and the rest are all finding a groove. It’s good to see them happy. So the rest of you can get over it.
Listen up, all you haters. I’ve been seeing the Crowes live since 1990. Isaiah Mitchell is absolutely killing it. Marc Ford will always be the #1 guy on the long list of guitarists in that slot. I put Isaiah Mitchell at #2. Luther Dickinson #3. Audrey Freed at #4. Paul Stacey at #5. Jackie Greene at #6. And guess what? Jeff Cease, the “original” band member is in last place. Am I forgetting anyone? Johnny Colt didn’t matter a bit in the long run. Gorman, yes, very important. However, life goes on and he doesn’t want to be there. Neither does Ford. So to say you refuse to see the Crowes now because of their absence is silly. Hell, Gorman didn’t even want to be in Magpie Salute! I saw the Crowes last night in Bend, OR and thought about Gorman for about 5 seconds.

I am not a huge BC fan, but I want to pick up their "1972 EP." As for the feud, Gorman was a drummer and the BC music would have been just as great without him. BC is not like Led Zeppelin, The Who or even The Beatles, where a drummer change would make a difference in the sound. Gorman needs to let his animosity go. The BC always was the Robinson band.
