Tiff's enthusiasm has always been infectious and listening to him touch on his racing history and adventures was a joy. Shame it came to an end so quickly.
Great to see him back with another show. He was excellent in 5th gear, still as enthusiastic as ever.
One of the great voices of British Motoring
His rant about modern F1 ... *chef's kiss*
Tiff is one of the greatest!, I watched most if not all of 5th gear and his more driving enthusiast approach in comparison with silly TG really worked for me. It is unbelievable he is still active in this way at his age; completely in awe with this.
Tiff is absolutely epic, and his review of the ford puma was one of the best things I have ever seen.
my favorite was M5 and the famous quote: "And now for diesel lovers it's time to make the tea" :)
Lovely stories, not many F1 drivers from such humble beginnings. Id say he was in-between the grafters as he put it and the drivers with god given natural talent. He put his life on the line in some of those le mans cars too . Respect...
Wasn’t aware of Tiff’s show on Amazon until coming across this podcast. Great show!
Brilliant interview Tiffs a proper racer
Great channel gentlemen. Congratulations!
Tiff is such a lovely guy.
I could have happily listened to another hour of Tiffs amazing life with cars.
Fingers crossed The Intercooler will have him back for a second podcast.
The year that Tiff finished third at Le Mans was my first of many visits. We went with Chequers Travel. En route we picked up a gentlemen at King’s cross, who sat behind us on the coach. on the return journey, he told us he was Tiff’s dad! - and I’m pretty convinced he was telling the truth…
Indeed he was! No budget for helicopters in the Needell family so 74 year old Dad joined the fans to make the trip ...
Another superb episode. Loved the James May episode & now Tiff. Great stuff
Tiff is a class act all the way!
Great podcast; and Tiff is such a wonderful guy
I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that Tiff Needell is British broadcasting and motorsport royalty!
Also makes a cracking podcast too
Tiff the legend love him on Fifth Gear 😊❤
Gotta love Tiff, talent aside he just seems like a great guy, I would love to have a pint with him.
Top bloke Tiff. His autobiography “Tiff Gear “ is a great read if you can get a copy. I remember him at the Motor Show with Clarkson and Quentin Wilson: they were a great treble act !
What a life.
Could you guys please get VBH on for an interview?
Good shout!
He’s right about Indycar. It’s a great watch, have been a avid viewer since 2020 and it’s fantastic
Legend...
Love tiff and love the podcast. There were moments where it felt like you were taking over tiff which was irritating. I’m sure it’s the delay or something though.
I hope they get Chris Harris to do an episode here or there... They had great chemistry when they compared the 458 and GT3 on 5th Gear.
They are great onscreen together. I thought it was awesome when tiff showed up in Harris' comparison of the 918 P1 and Laferrari
@@memememine1That was a fabulous video... They really are great sparring partners, elite level wheelmen and bring the laughs while getting sideways. They make it look so deceptively easy.
Two of the best... Maybe THE two best.
Spliff Neeedle is the absolute GOAT 🐐 ❤
The dream of which Tiff speaks of is Moto 2 in Bike racing. They all have a to run the Triumph 760cc engine and either a Kalex or Speedup chassis no mater who the Manufacturer is. The playing field is as level as it gets in a GP class.
Tiff how was the Dome rc83 to drive? I have a scale diecast at home, one of my favourite racecars based on looks, it clocked very fast on the hunaudieres with those huge long Venturi tunnels
Hosts interrupting guests non-stop
Tiff the real life “SkidSolo”😄
@40:30 I know Brian Redman, he is my grandfathers neighbor, he is a great guy, very funny, he has a skin graft on his face from his upper thigh, he likes to greet people with a peck on the cheek then tell them they "didnt have to kiss his ass like that!"
Have always followed and admired Tiff . What a career. Being a similar age totally agree when he talked about real cars programmes of EARLY Topgear and Fifth Gear not the rubbish that followed when Clarkson took over.....NOT a car programme. Have even waiting for another season of On The Road, but don't have Amazon Prime ! Annoying.
27:29 You could use a GMA T50. Break the old record using the modern day F1.
I agree with Tiff with the British obsession over F1. People were spitting out their tea that someone doesn't know Martin Brundle and there is a world of Motorsport out there. Endless analysis of boring races its not just the Americans who struggle to get into F1.
Always wanted to ask Tiff why he revs the engine before turning it off. Every time I do that people tell me it’s a bad idea.
Probably is a bad idea but it just seems the right thing to do!!
It's just like a pear cider, made from pure pears.
Formula one made itself obsolete and it's not anybodies fault, unless you consider technological advance wrong. So the only way to make it interesting again, would be to go back so to speak - loose technology.
What would totally defy the purpose, as formula 1 was conceived to be the pinnacle of technology in automotive racing. What fans really want, is historical F1.
Sorry I don’t have 45 minutes: did they ask Timothy how he came to be called Tiff instead of Tim, and whether he thinks a name like “Tiff Needell” furthered his career, because it’s… memorable?
was christened Timothy, but when he was born his three-year-old brother had trouble getting his tongue around the name and pronounced it Tiffamy, and it stuck.
@@laurencemajury8422 Thanks muchly
If he was then who he is now, a bitter hypocrite, his mentality was probably a bigger problem than his name.
I was a fan and started watching him here on YT love cars F1 and then I found what Tiff and his side kick where really like, nasty bitter old men
@@yerrie1908do tell
These Englishmen would not be moaning about F1 if Lewis, Lando or George were dominating in the Newey cars, they would be praising the "amazing" talent. And Rosberg was a bloody good driver, his whole career from Jr racing to F1 backs that up. Absolutely ridiculous to be blaming the rules when Lewis get's beaten by a team mate in the same car! That's a lot of blaming, as it happens a lot!
Didn’t he say that Verstappen was a natural talent? Don’t think it has anything to do with being English you mad racist
Afraid there is truth in this. Let’s be honest, who you support will make a huge difference
Just as the Dutch and max fans are praising him to the hilt, when he has one of the most dominant cars in f1 history and a doormat of a teammate
@@user-dv3fi7zs3tyep, if they allowed someone to challenge max it would make a huge difference. Hamilton had nico and valteri, sienna had Prost etc max has no team challenger
@@stevenmoorman2187 I like Verstappen but current F1 cars are awful.
