Truly one of the most informed frag head tubers out there. But your nose leans a bit more to powdery scents than mine. I love the info and history and tidbit trivia you always offer. You can definitely articulate your thoughts through your vocabulary skills. Good work. I like that you offer up low cost, mid cost and COSTLY fragrance reviews. In these tough times most can’t afford what’s sitting on your shelf. Scent memories don’t have to be expensive.

I love PDM! Herod & Carlisle were the ones that really introduced me to the niche world. I was blown away from the second I sampled and I owe my fragrance addiction to the house. I also prefer Layton Excusif over Layton for the reasons as you. I also enjoy Kalan but I’m not familiar with 3 of the 5 from the set. I bought Dua’s version of Delina and I actually love it but my wife doesn’t really like floral fragrances. Looking forward to visiting the Boutique in NYC once it’s safe to travel and plan on dedicating at least a day exploring fragrance boutiques. I hope to attend the next Scent Explore as well. Great content as always & looking forward to the master class!

The icey thing in Percival? I get that in Layton and according to Aaron Terence Hughes it isn't geranium, it's eucalyptus. Although eucalyptus isn't listed as a note. I enjoy that Side note, I actually thought it's the geranium for almost 2 years and had been wondering about it for quite some time until Aaron responded to one of my comments after he smelled Layton!
I have seriously regretted getting rid of Percival and in the future have to reacquire it. I only currently own Herod, Habdan and Pegasus is on the way. I have pegasus and herod, to be honest i put just one time pegasus i don't know why , but Herod its amazing, the problem is we can't see inside a botle and its heavy to take a jugment. Hug from France

It’s very frustrating that I have to pay to try something that I may not like. I find Herod projects more, but Carlisle lasts waaaaay longer. Herod is more approachable, but Carlisle is more complex. They're both beautiful, and it's so hard to choose. There are some elements of Herod and Layton in Carlisle, but they're all vastly unique. Sample first - don't blind buy! Facebook has groups you can get samples from. A good way to sample and save money on failed blind buys.
Most things are cheaper in the US than the UK, but fragrances at times seem to be an exception. Most PDMs retail for £200 ($250) in the UK and even Carlisle is £215 ($269), so surprised they are more expensive in the US. Is it due to import taxes?

I’ve wanted to love parfums de marly but so far they unfortunately aren’t calling out to me. Still have to try Carlisle, Oajan and Layton Exclusif so we will see if anything else ends up winning me over. I’m more of a niche guy and haven’t found tons of character in these fragrances. My favorite actually has been Delina which I find lovely on my girlfriend. Herod closely follows and is very beautiful but unfortunately I’m just growing out of spicebomb type fragrances lately. It's bad that they reformulated Herod. I had 2017y batch and it was better performer than my current 2019y batch. What people are saying it was even much more stronger till 2014.
Just bought Layton and it blowed me away how sexy it smells. I bought it blind. I can say that every dollar was worth it. It’s my new favorite scent.

I haven't found anything that can top SMW, Millesime Imperial or Erolfa for freshness. I will have to try Sedley, Wet Stone or Oceania.
