Herod is a masterpiece and Carlisle is also one of the best signature scents out there but Layton is the Best of all worlds. Personally I love to have a fragrance that does it all for me and it is versatile to be worn everywhere and it's a big factor for me choosing a fragrance and Leyton is the one that does it for me. So Layton is a safe 10/10 for everyone who has sniffed specifically women!!!

I don't mean to be rude to you in any way but to assume that I don't express my own opinion about the fragrances feels like a disrespectful assumption. Haltane is my signature scent and an absolute banger. Love Herod - that sweet tobacco and vanilla is so good. Recently picked up Carlisle and waiting to experience it in cooler weather (Texas heat and humidity is brutal, at the moment). Sedley, Greenly, and Galloway are fantastic summer fragrances with Sedley being my favorite.
The Lady has very good taste. Totally agree Herod is the most unique and also the most awesome PDM fragrance. & I am Not a big fan of layton. I think Pegasus is also really good, but I want it to be a bit less sweet. So going to try exclusif soon. You should have compared Oajan also, not as good as herod, but still a solid choice. I was avoiding godolfin(because of lather) & carlisle(because of Nutmeg & heard its similar to layton), but since the lady said its really good, will give it a try.

Herod and Oajan are my favorites. I do wish Herod had better performance, but I've gotten several reactions from women gushing over how it smells. A couple months ago, I was hanging out with some guys from work and a lot of them had their wives / girlfriends there. I was wearing Herod, and every woman there came up to me at one point or another just to get a better smell of the scent. I had them all talking about it. At one point, 4 women were standing around me, asking what the fragrance was. Herod is no slouch. I've also gotten a lot of positive reactions to Layton Exclusif, but mostly from women 30s and older. I usually wear it when I'm well-dressed and feeling confident.
I see PDM, I click, that simple. And much like you, I love that House. I honestly think that Herod is the single best/sexist scent I've ever smelled in my over 40 years on this planet.

Compliments and sexiness are different things right? So she’s right. Layton was my first niche fragrance. I still think it smells nice and it’s versatile plus people respond well to it but I don’t it’s as interesting any more. I’m a big cardamom fan so I enjoy but if I had to get rid of one of three I own (Layton, Herod and Carlisle), Layton would be the one to get the boot. And it’s possible that 6 months later I could be fine with that OR regret it and buy it again!! :)
I feel the same, Layton is fantastic but there are cheaper alternatives in the situations in which you would use it. What situations would you opt for Herod over Carlisle? I don't own Carlisle only Layton & Herod. Wondering if I should add it. Seems there is enormous overlap between lovers or Herod and Carlisle.
@@ThatBigCactus I think I would opt for Carlisle over Herod in situation where perhaps I want a bigger and stronger scent bubble. Herod is amazing and I think I would prefer it in more intimate or situations where you’re closer to another person. Where as Carlisle I think projects more. But that said, I think practically speaking the times you would use them are similar. I guess it comes down to how much you love that scent profile. There’s stuff like ambers and tobacco fragrances where I have a bit of overlap and others where one is enough. What are you’re top 5 or 10 frags?

My collection isn't huge maybe 20 bottles, but I've gone through lots of small decants though. Also, I'm also 26 so can't pull off the mature segment yet. That being said, top 5 would be: Herod, ADG Profumo, Acqua Di Parma Oud EDP, Layton, Boucheron Pour Homme, and don't hate me but I love Sauvage EDP... For fresh scents I seem to always lean away from Percival or Elysium, which are highly recommended. They are just too fruity for me. I like my fresh scents to have a bit of bite like the pepper in sauvage or incense in Profumo. As for winter I love tobacco, amber, cardamom, pepper, vanilla, cinnamon. I avoid leather. ADP Oud is the only frag I dont mind the leather note. In L'homme Ideal EDP, Amouage enclave and Armani code absolu, the leather base note really brings me right into the aisles of a dollarstore.
I thought layton was more a night scene kinda perfume but after watching this video., I wore it today at work and got A LOT of attention from women. A 7/10 is a very harsh rating to be honest.
@COTE Official, I don't think the 7/10 rating is harsh at all. She was rating it based on "Sexiness" scale not mass appeal or compliments scale. Layton is by far the more popular scent if you ask many people, but the key here is Sexy versus being more popular. For her Layton wasn't as "sexy" as the others. Never take other people's opinions on a fragrance personally. We all have different tastes. Carlyle is my favorite PdM, but I was actually surprised she rated it so high on the "Sexy" scale because in my experience Layton often gets more Ladies attention than any of her top 3. Just remember it is all subjective.

Hi! I love them both! Tobacco Vanille is a fantastic tobacco but Herod is part of my fragrances for life (part 2 coming up soon) and I'm just addicted to it! To me herod is sweeter and also has a different kind of sweetness that I enjoy more and the tobacco is different as well. TV is a great scent though and it crushes Herod when it comes to the performance.. Can't go wrong with any, but I'm addicted to herod so going with that one😊 Have you tried both? Which one you enjoy the most?

My top 3 would have to be 4 fragrances 🤣🤣 1. Layton & Layton exclusive ( can’t really seperate them ) 2. Carlisle 3. Percival . Herod for me is overrated. I think it’s good but the performance & projection sucks .

A little bit more than a year ago I got a travel-size delina for myself and a travel-size Pegasus for my husband he sprayed it once on himself and he immediately brought it to the room and said I think this one is for you too. Lol. My husband wasn't that into it as something that is his cup of tea and I did end up using the entire decant, it actually gave me a hypnotic poison kind of vibe but with the almond heavy. I am subscribed to four monthly subscription services and these came from scentbird. For whatever reason at the time they had Pegasus listed as a men's only fragrance it wasn't even listed as a unisex said because I know how to get colognes for my husband and he is never into anyting that's unisex. And for the most part I'm usually not into unisex fragrances either I feel like it's usually a smell that I'd rather have my home or my bedroom smell like rather than a perfume but I enjoyed Pegasus.

It's basically smooth almond with florals and good for someone who loves the scent of almond and enjoy floral fragrances. Kalan is definitely an interesting perfume from PDM that people seem to either love or hate 🙃 It's definitely different from the rest of the PDM collection! 👍 I REALLY wanted to love Kalan.. I really tried it over and over and over again.. But on my skin it did not impress me that much the first few times.. It's been growing on me a bit and nowadays I kinda like it.. 😊 But it's not my favorite from Parfums de Marly.

I honestly prefer Layton exclusif over Layton. To me it has everything Layton has and much more! Herod is my favorite of the house though, i just wish it lasted and projected more! Currently in my possession I have 9 PDM fragrances with 3 more on the way. Can you tell I absolutely adore this house?? I just cracked open Pegasus tonight, it smelled of pure alcohol on first spray, followed shortly after by almonds.. I will let it oxidize after maceration and see what happens! Cheers!

@@rottenrebels I haven't tried Pegasus Exclusive yet, but I ordered it yesterday as it is back in stock in the 125 mL bottle! ;) It is one of the 3 that are on the way to me, along with Percival and Darley. I have read that Pegasus Exclusif is Pegasus with Layton added, so it should be really interesting if that is true. I definitely noticed a lot more notes on Pegasus last night after the dry down. It was just that strong alcoholic note on first spray that surprised me, this is a powerful fragrance for sure! But the sweetness with almonds, vanilla, and a hint a lavender came out after it settled down a bit. I look forward to many more sessions with Pegasus! =)
@@5litremania yeah sometimes that first spray is an overload on the nose. Things settle quite quickly and the 'real' scent comes forward. Then you have one of my fragrances for life on the way! Love Percival 😍🙌
Good review but for future reference you should let your guest give their opinion of the scent before you give yours, that way you don't seem to be influencing them.

layton exclusif is not a great opener. to be fair, you have to smell the dry down. it transforms into something totally different. i liked it when i smelled the opening, i LOVED it when i smelled the dry down. that peppery patchouli, brut barbershop smell with extreme elegance/quality. try the dry down on skin.

Herods dry Down smells like Gucci Pour Homme 2 trust me it's not that.. good. Carlisle and Layton are the best so far. Peg smells like John paul Gaultier la male
It all depends on what kind of leather it is and how it's blended. 😊 Godolphin is definitely one of the more mass appealing leather scents ever made. Very easy to like leather scent
I must say, I love this woman, she has my nose 👃, I say the same thing every time, Layton is not sexy, is just a normal good fragrance and I prefer a lot in the line

Hi! I love them both! Tobacco Vanille is a fantastic tobacco but Herod is part of my fragrances for life (part 2 coming up soon) and I'm just addicted to it!
To me herod is sweeter and also has a different kind of sweetness that I enjoy more and the tobacco is different as well.
TV is a great scent though and it crushes Herod when it comes to the performance.. Can't go wrong with any, but I'm addicted to herod so going with that one😊 Have you tried both? Which one you enjoy the most?

Carlisle smells kind of like Spicebomb Expreme for those that are wondering. It is much stronger/heavier and longer lasting than Spicebomb extreme.

A little bit more than a year ago I got a travel-size delina for myself and a travel-size Pegasus for my husband he sprayed it once on himself and he immediately brought it to the room and said I think this one is for you too. Lol. My husband wasn't that into it as something that is his cup of tea and I did end up using the entire decant, it actually gave me a hypnotic poison kind of vibe but with the almond heavy. I am subscribed to four monthly subscription services and these came from scentbird. For whatever reason at the time they had Pegasus listed as a men's only fragrance it wasn't even listed as a unisex said because I know how to get colognes for my husband and he is never into anyting that's unisex. And for the most part I'm usually not into unisex fragrances either I feel like it's usually a smell that I'd rather have my home or my bedroom smell like rather than a perfume but I enjoyed Pegasus.

If you like the scent of almond (a prominent part of pegasus) then you might want to take a look at Initio High Frequency. It's basically smooth almond with florals and good for someone who loves the scent of almond and enjoy floral fragrances.

I honestly prefer Layton exclusif over Layton. To me it has everything Layton has and much more! Herod is my favorite of the house though, i just wish it lasted and projected more! Currently in my possession I have 9 PDM fragrances with 3 more on the way. Can you tell I absolutely adore this house?? I just cracked open Pegasus tonight, it smelled of pure alcohol on first spray, followed shortly after by almonds.. I will let it oxidize after maceration and see what happens! Cheers!

@@rottenrebels I haven't tried Pegasus Exclusive yet, but I ordered it yesterday as it is back in stock in the 125 mL bottle! ;) It is one of the 3 that are on the way to me, along with Percival and Darley. I have read that Pegasus Exclusif is Pegasus with Layton added, so it should be really interesting if that is true. I definitely noticed a lot more notes on Pegasus last night after the dry down. It was just that strong alcoholic note on first spray that surprised me, this is a powerful fragrance for sure! But the sweetness with almonds, vanilla, and a hint a lavender came out after it settled down a bit. I look forward to many more sessions with Pegasus! =)
@@5litremania yeah sometimes that first spray is an overload on the nose. Things settle quite quickly and the 'real' scent comes forward. Then you have one of my fragrances for life on the way! Love Percival 😍🙌
Good review but for future reference you should let your guest give their opinion of the scent before you give yours, that way you don't seem to be influencing them.

layton exclusif is not a great opener. to be fair, you have to smell the dry down. it transforms into something totally different. i liked it when i smelled the opening, i LOVED it when i smelled the dry down. that peppery patchouli, brut barbershop smell with extreme elegance/quality. try the dry down on skin.

I get 1 hour of performance with Carisle 2021 reformulation. These fragrances are NOT beast mode anymore and they last 2 hours maximun

Herods dry Down smells like Gucci Pour Homme 2 trust me it's not that.. good. Carlisle and Layton are the best so far. Peg smells like John paul Gaultier la male

It all depends on what kind of leather it is and how it's blended. 😊 Godolphin is definitely one of the more mass appealing leather scents ever made. Very easy to like leather scent
