Steven, I certainly agree that PDM leans more towards heavy complex dark fragrances, but Galloway is not the only one that is light and fresh. There is a whole line within PDM with clear bottles that are all more or less fresh and great for summer. I'm referring to Izpazon, Lippizan, Darley, and Shagya. Cheers,

I love Galloway one of my first PDM purchases. I also love to wear Darley in the summer!! It is not one of the mainstream PDMs but it’s some great juice too.

Steven I really can't believe how this gets no love. I have Lalique White and to me, this is leaps and bounds better than Lalique White in the high heat in both performance and smell. One of the best purchases I've made considering I paid $110 for it on fragrancenet a while back.

To my nose the easiest and most pleasant but still unique fragrance from the house of Perfum de Marly is the regular Layton

I can not wait for their newest release Percival, release date in october, it has been a while since PdM did a freshy.

Galloway definitely has a GIT vibe to my nose.
It's sweeter and a bit more floral notes, but as with GIT, much more green then citrus.
I like it.
Other then Layton Exclusif (my favorite) I feel like most all of the PdM fragrance are
pretty easy wears compared to a lot of other niche houses and/or luxury lines.
YES! GIT is my favorite fragrance of all time and Galloway definitely has some GIT DNA, especially in the opening. Galloway is different enough, however, to warrant owning both it and GIT. I love Galloway and, in my opinion, it's the best Summer offering from PDM.
At first I didn't love it , but I give it another try and freaking love it now! Great vid

Well said. I've heard many reviews of Percival say pretty much what you say about this... fresh, mass appealing and an easy recommendation. Differences?
They're different fragrances in terms of how they smell, but they're both appropriate for the same occasions.
For me Percival is TOO mass appealing. Sort of like PDM's attempt to jump on the "blue" bandwagon. Galloway (and, to a lesser extent, Sedley) is a Summer offering from PDM that is unique.

Steven, you should do a top most zen (calming/relaxing) fragrances list. The kind of scents that can reduce stress, like aromatherapy in a bottle. Maybe include a few that are accessible too (not just niche).

If u choose between layton and layton xclusive .. whats ur choose if u live like me in hottie weather like egypt??
Layton is better for hotter weather, but I prefer Layton Exclusive.
I purchased both olmsted and Greylocke for boyfriend.. I purchased Pegasus 2 years ago and he loves that one. I will be giving Galloway a try soon. Geesh

I'm late to the party, but I absolute love this fragrance. After Layton, Herod and Pegasus my first fresh PdM. I'm usually not the biggest citrus fan, but this works great as a summer scent. High quality fragrance. The only PdM fragrance I really dislike is Kalan....but it's an amazing house! Cheers from The Netherlands

Yes. You won't be disappointed if your nose leans toward fresh citrus fragrances. If you're looking for a Fall/Winter Parfums de Marly go with Herod or Layton.
I actually picked up both, Layton and Galloway a few months ago 😅

Same here. I like it but not a favorite. I find it similar to Lalique White in terms of the freshness fronted by pepper and that metallic or pencil shaving vibe. Not sure if the 125ml bottle of this will have the nicer box. At least not for my 125ml Godolphin. That could be the case for the darker bottles. Thanks.

Hi Steven! I truly like ellegant fresh fragrances like Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT, Lalique White, Lalique Equus or Caron L´Eau Pure - these are my favs during summer. But the longevity sucks. Do you think Galloway would be a good alternative and solve the problem with longevity? Thanks.

I just got my nose on this. I like it, but the first 10 minutes is very rough. Needs time to settle. Once that happens the iris is great. If you don’t like iris, you probably won’t be a fan. Sample first.

Hey you all fragrance lovers out there! Should you do a review concerning the modern regulations for today's fragrance industry in general? To tell that the longevity of the fragrances produced today cannot ever more be the same as they were deacade ago. There is no bother to compare the old days masterpieces to the editions of today releases, just because the houses are not allowed to use the ingredients of the old days no more ever! Forget the Dior, Chanel, Armani, Aqcua di Parma and such a legends, just because there is no more real oud exist, or just because the ambrosia concerned to be irritative to the skin in today's directives of the health.

This was the 2nd PdM I purchased last year and up until last week, I finally wore it... and brother did it not disappoint in my book. Loved the pepper on this, my nose picks it up well, and my skin projects well also. Love the pepper on this as much as CdG's Amazingreen

How can you tell if you bottle is fake If brought from a discounter
There are lots of vids on UA-cam about how to spot a fake Parfums de Marly bottle. Also how is the performance? If it disappears almost immediately then you've definitely got yourself a fake. PDM fragrances are famous for lasting 10+ hours.
Once I got a sample of PDM Layton Exclusive 1ml, the frag faded away less than hour, even others sniff in! So do not say the originals stay hours! The thruth is that today no original house either can't produce the old days staying forever frags no more, just because the regulations concerning on what ingredients is suitable to be use in today's skin products.😔

I've read people compare this "lalique white". If you've tried both how would you say they compare?
I own LW and would describe it as a spicy fresh woody citrus. Definitely some pepper supplying the spice, which you mentioned in Galloway, but with a more dominant lemon leaf note which has best been described as a pencil shavings vibe. Do you get any of that from Galloway?
I meant to say that people on online fragrance forums say they smell similar. at least 26 people voted that they are similar to one another. I don't get the lemon leaf note in Galloway, but I understand that note breakdowns are just a point of departure for sales associates and not always reflective of the true ingredients contained in a fragrance.
