Yeah, between the two DLCs Lost in Nightmares is definitely my favorite of two. The multiple throwbacks to prior games in either design or Easter eggs makes it so enjoyable. I think Resident Evil 5 would have been received much better by the fans if it focused more on the survival horror aspect like Lost in Nightmares did. Also, Desperate Escape is notable for one thing: it shows once again that being a helicopter pilot in the RE universe is a death sentence. RIP Doug. 😢

I played RE5 back in the day, but I only got my hands on the Gold Edition on PC, in 2011 or 12. I had absolutely no recollection of Desperate Escape whatsoever, maybe I didn't even have it, I don't know, but as I decided to get the achievements these past few days, I played these 2, knowing and fully remembering how awesome Lost in Nightmares was, and I didn't hate Desperate Escape, but it was more of the same, endless enemy waves that can be finished in less time than Lost in Nightmares.
2:40 one thing i dont get : why tf would spencer have a copy of the keepers diary next to his bedstand? Like does the old man read it as a bedtime story and think "ahaha marvelous so marvelous ahahaha !" Before sleepin like a deranged old baby ? 😂😂😂
@SSJdavey like outta ALL the files from the mansion,this mf chooses the keepers diary,instead of o idk..Lisa trevor files,u know esp since he was tryina replicate her experiment to become immortal,hence why the blobs look the way they do,or files on the BOWs from the arklay facility which were effectively the birth of umbrellas many future bioweapons but nope,he chose the keepers diary,ya he deserved an unceremonious ending 😑🤣😆
@@SSJdavey he’s such a memorable voice actor as well. Loved him as Batman in Arkham origins and as Crane in dying light, I was so confused when I played dying light 2 as the voice actor in that sounds just like him. A weird decision indeed.
Sure! I was thinking I'd do re7, check out Re:Resistance & Re:Verse to see if they are still alive and then do a mercs video. I remember promising I'd cover mercs back when I did re3 original years ago 😅
When I finally got around to checking out “Lost in Nightmares” all those years ago, that was the final thing which influenced me to raise my personal rating of RE5, from a 6/10 to a more marginally positive 7/10. Between revisiting that “Lost in Nightmares” level, through your review, and seeing how unexpectedly good the RE4 Remake appears to have turned out, I think I am much more open to the idea of another RE1 Remake. That is, of course, provided it is actually done well and 2002’s remake of RE1 still has its legacy preserved. I am not sure if I already said this. But now I think I would be perfectly satisfied in terms of the latter, if the hypothetical RE1 Re-Remake simply has the 2002 remake built into it as an unlockable bonus (akin to “Metroid: Zero Mission” including an emulation of the original “Metroid” as an unlockable bonus). That way, the new team can do whatever they want with a new RE1 Remake, while still simultaneously keeping the previous remake alive and accessible in the same place.
@@SSJdavey I still think it would at least be very convenient for newer fans, since it would hypothetically allow both remakes of RE1 to be bundled together in one spot at all times from then on. That is, rather than having two remakes of the same game for people to separately keep track of, one of which debuted all the way back in 2002 and may not even be known to newcomers.

I loved both dlcs. Desperate escape was challenging and fun. I think they were trying to please both types of RE fans and I think they succeeded.

On another note, I’m very surprised they didn’t patch Chris village model into the end of RE7 there’s quite a jarring difference between the two!

Well you can still play re1 remake on all platforms so they wouldn't need to include it. I wouldn't say no though!
