    That was my biggest lesson from my first few markets recently, the importance of the other stallholders' products being in a similar price and quality bracket to my own products. If customers are going for cheap and cheerful knick knacks and you're selling beautiful original paintings it's going to be a mismatch resulting in reduced sales. I'm going to research different markets for next year and try a variety out.

    Thanks for this video! I’m in the process of creating an inventory of wooden crafts, toys and tools I make. I’d need to charge a fair bit for some items due to materials & time spent on them but some are really quick to make and materials are cheaper but I think I might knock out a few keyrings I can get out for a couple quid each as well!
    Thanks again!

    I know this video is quite old now and maybe it was just general advice. But when you're talking about knowing your prices to make adding easier, are you using the square app and have all your products and prices/variations in there? You can just select the items the customer is buying and then either pick cash (and it will tell you the amount of change required) Or click card and it will wake the square reader so they can tap their card.

    When I have done shows before I used to carry a cash box, but now I use a fanny pack. This way money is kept in a safe place and not left in car or at booth. Also, depending on design it will allow a place to put excess cash in a separate place in fanny pack.
    Having a checklist is an absolute must along with an inventory list. Purchase the chalk board display or picture frames for pricing of merchandise or use price tags. If you use price tags do the folded ones that also have care instructions, your information and price. You should have your logo on the bags for purchased merchandise.

    Honestly, Thank you so so much dear Taylah for this amazing video. I really enjoyed your video that very truly gave all the tips and information that I needed. You have put everything together so well and speaks from your heart :)
    I am now doing landscape photography and would like to do markets as my main source of income. I tried two markets in Tasmania but I am from Melbourne so thinking of getting into a market that operates on week days as well where I can sell my nature and landscape photography.
    I worked as a medical doctor (GP) for more than 20 years and got completely burnt out. So at the moment I enjoy traveling in my very simple camper car and doing volunteer service, sitting silent meditation retreats & living a meaningful simple life. But as I also need to make an income so after trying a few things I feel markets will be a good option as I also enjoy connecting with people :)
    I might write to you again to get some advice. I have liked the video and subscribed to your channel. Thank you again Taylah.
    Take care, umesh :)

    because u shared so much with us wanted to give u an idea, u make hair barrets and if u want a great way to display them, take one of those privacy screen 3 tri-fold things half size or full, full is better, run strips of ribbon from the top to bottom, usually 2 strips per screen and then you open the hair barrett and use the ribbon like "hair" and then u can use a whole bunch pairs etc on display, and once some are purchased, easy to fill back up during a market and the little girls can see them and point out (a lot) of choice and then hopefully more get purchased, i know someone who has them like this in my town, works amazing as well she has shorter bi fold ones on her table top with ribbon running side to side shorter but more rows available for smaller ones or any hook type to just hang over in rows, just an idea! hope this works please let me know if u try it!

    I didn’t know other countries required insurance to do these kinda fairs. In America (at least in TN) you don’t need annual insurance to do craft fairs or these types of “markets”. It’s quite literally the cost of your rent and maybe extra if you want electricity. That’s besides what it costs for you to run your own booth.

    • @TaylahRose
      @TaylahRose  3 роки тому +1

      I’m with VWA they are an insurance broker I have been with aami in the past. I just emailed them or aami has options to just sign up on their website
      The million part refers to how much cover you need. Extreme example here but if you were sued because your gazebo wasn’t secured and it took off in wind and seriously injured a group of children you would only be covered for what your insurance says. Most markets now require 20million insurance rather than the 10million
