It'd be funny when Torchwood found out Santa is the Futurama Robot Santa that discovered time travel.
Of all the "CAN U BELIWVW THAT WAS THIS YEAR" shit the fact that there was doctor who this year is legitimately terrifying
Based Chibbers better be bringing back the Quarks
Fun fact: According to the audio adventure Song of Megaptera, the doctor nearly lost the TARDIS to a leprechaun and Unicorns were hunted to extinction.
A Broke Canon video: exists
The Faction Paradox: Allow us to introduce ourselves
Davis is a deep-cover member of Faction Paradox who is tasked by destroying our faith in linear time.
"The Doctor constantly fights with himself about whether or not Santa is real" makes perfect sense for the Doctor... Somehow.
William Hartnell with an Xbox controller can't hurt you:
William Hartnell after beating you for the 56th time: "just get f****** good Chetterton
I actually had to Google if spyfall came out this year. Holy fuck.... You're right. How??
long year man.
I feel like a manipulating 13 that's closer to 7 than any of her NuWho counterparts would be a bit interesting, although it is pretty much retreading old ground. It'd be something to characterize her in the show, at least.
Accidentally awful because of bad writing is her motif
@@SamyulDavis "You had no right to put that spider out of its misery! You should've been humane like me and let it suffocate to death in pain. :)"
The people who made the VR game know there doesn't need to be an in-universe reason for replaying the game, right?
Yeah they didn't think it through so now there's no in-universe reason for ever stopping the game
@@wren7980 There doesn't need to be. We don't need the base mecahnics of video game interaction to be part of the story.
@Najawin The game's actual story would be on the wiki. The replaying of the game itself doesn't need to be part of the story.
Also, the Tardis wiki doesn't cover something if it doesn't have a story? What a shitty wiki it must be.
@@wren7980 I at least play it once a day to stay immersed
Fun fact- If they couldn't get the Daleks back for S1 they were going to use the Toclafane, which they obviously later repurposed. Suddenly makes taking Rose to see her planet die as her first outing make a lot more sense.
5:57 in an alternate production-timeline? Yes.
*Presumably the same nightmare scenario as the Alan Davies Doctor.*
Now I'm imagining the QI klaxxon as a Doctor Who villain.
How can you bring up Twelve Doctors of Christmas in regards to the Doctors relationship with Santa and not include how the Fourth Doctor hijacked the Apollo 8 mission as part of his plan to win a bet with ‘an old acquaintance’ that delivering presents to everyone on Earth isn’t as hard as he makes it out to be?!
That was the last one I read! Finished the book just yesterday.
@@SamyulDavis
Missed opportunity. Ah well, there's always next year, assuming we're not all dead by then.
So let me get this right the doctor use the pissing contest between Russia and America for a pissing contest between him and Santa
yo Sam, i know you briefly touched upon this when you talked about Clive, but I think his website is worth doing a bit of a deep dive into. There's a bunch of stuff on there, from cameos from classic companions like Sarah Jane and Peri, some pre-War Doctor Time War lore (story that involves Eccleston stumbling out of the Tardis in McGann's clothes, implied to be right after he activated the Moment) and even an Eccleston story that was made up especially for that website. Seriously, it's like a wall of text that I thought was a reference to a comic or something, but nope, 100% original. I know you've mentioned before that you have a bunch of these already recorded in advance so idk if you've already covered this in a future episode, but if you haven't, might be worth checking out. Cheers.
I did think about talking about those 'sightings' comments, but stupidly passed up the chance!
@@SamyulDavis I'm crazy for all that viral marketing type stuff so I went through all of them trying to see if they put any hints for series 1 in there and sure enough there were a few things. There's even one that foreshadows the greatest Who moment of all time, aka when they play "Toxic" in The End of the World. The part with post-Time War Eccleston was really cool to me cause as much as I love Day of the Doctor I can't help but think about what could've been if McGann had been the one to set off the Moment. So much potential. But yeah if you somehow ever run out of stuff to talk about, some of those sightings could definitely make for some interesting facts. Glad to see you back at it after the hiatus, a new Broke Canon is just what I needed after finishing my exams!
My theory is that Eccleston ran into the TARDIS, grabbed McGann's clothes and tried to recreate a regeneration from him.
*This is where the fun begins.*
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Long have I waited!
I feel like crying, this is such a perfect Christmas treat
This is one of my favorite youtube series right now. Thank you for making these. I've always had a thirst for weird wiki-lore and this always satisfies.
If this is like DW homework for you, you could search for every genocide the Doctor has ever actually committed? I recently listened to Omega, and as casually as The Doctor brings up how he accidently eradicated an entire species of sentient creatures (the Scintillans). Alone that's just such a weird oneoff character building thing but I feel like there's got to be more than that.
EDIT: Actually, wow, wtf, the Tardis Fandom page has a dedicated section for The Doctor's Genocides. Why was it so frequent in the classic series for The Doctor to trick someone who was the last of their species into their death?? The post time-war blues must really have some layers to it after seeing that, some sour humble pie Nine and Ten must have had telling everyone who asked that they were the last of the time lords.
The Omega mistake is coming up! Thanks for your words and merry Christmas
Hearing the title "Doctor Who: Edge of Time" makes me think about Spider-man: Edge of Time, and it makes me want a Doctor Who beat 'em up even more.
You missed out that the 8th Doctor once interacted with St. Nicholas when one of his companions brought him through time to fight a Krampus construct in modern day Salzburg (Ravenous 2)
IT'S A FESTIVUS MIRACLE
Nine grooming Rose to be the perfect companion was actually the original idea for her, wasn't it? I think I remember reading that RTD considered that at one point but did away with it because it was too creepy.
Jodie Whittaker sounds more and more like A Missy that thinks she's the 13th Doctor...
Maybe she IS the Valeyard afterall.
That was Missy's plan all along! Probably... I don't know.
@@tenacious3911 Everyone is the Valeyard. Every single character to ever appear on-screen is the Valeyard.
@@firetarrasque4667 Even Jingo?
There was actually going to be an episode that would reveal 9 groomed Rose to be the perfect companion since she was a kid, this eventually didn't happen of course, and the episode was replaced by Boom Town
I know this was 4 months ago but source?
@@simonchabot390 I don't remember lol but I know it was going to be written by the guy who did the UK shameless
@@owenmonahan5821 no worries lol but goddamn that sounds dark.
Its a dope idea and I'd love to see it done as a reveal with a different companion (that isn't Amy Pond lmao)
But it's such a strange choice knowing that s1 is predominantly a love story. Let us know if you come across that source :)
@@SamyulDavis I like it a lot but it doesn't really gel with the 9 that we ended up getting so glad they didn't keep it in. Honestly it feels more like a McGann thing. Would definitely like to see the idea reused though.
Merry Christmas Sam! Your channel has helped me to both get back into Who and to get through the latter half of what has been, to put it lightly, a bloody awful year and for that I thank you very much.
Inremember playing edge of time, at the end I was like "wife, this has no replay value and the worst doctor just doomed me to a time loop!"
3:42 "Christmas Town? Hmmmmmm?"
YES! I SUBSCRIBED FOR THIS CONTENT! I actually adore random doctor who lore insanity so this series is near and dear to my heart. I cannot WAIT to see you cover more comics stuff, like the event synthesiser, Fey, and more Dogbolter content.
I expect a cover of The Stowaway next year.
5:11 I'm surprised he didn't make another subversion arc out of it honestly
Clara reads the Doctor's Naughty List in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS, finding the Doctor's true name on said list, because he hates himself so much. His punishment for being such a bad stalky boi is to rip off his favourite EDA until he dies...

You're telling me, hon
3:21 One of these days we’re going to find out Santa/Jeff is a timedisplaced Luther from Umbrella Academy himself. Hey, I wouldn’t put it past them.
We all know those comics with the grandkids didnt really happen, because sometimes... the doctor dreams the long dream, where villains are naughty and the ending are happy.
Merry Christmas too you Davis thanks for all these presents this year
Merry Christmas, Sam!
Same to you my man
@@SamyulDavis Happy Holidays
Such a wonderful Christmas treat!
Excellent
HOW DID I MISS THIS!!!! Thank you, btw!
Good to see The Edge of Time captures the Thirteenth Doctor's character so well.
I never thought there would be a series that perfect to put on the backround while gaming
A Merry Christmas to all of you at Home....
Happy Times and Places
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Oh Broke Canon horw I've missed you, merry Christmas davis
The Krotons isn't a bad episode. I liked it. It's not great but it's harmless.
Fortunately the poor victim of 13's Time Loop is saved, by the Cybermen and even gets to be the Doctor for a bit when she can't choose between saving the universe, or saving a branched timeline where Ten married Marie Antoinette and had kids. And I'm not quite sure but that segment seems like it's trying to imply that you are one of those kids, maybe?
Also one of the collectibles in Edge of Reality is the shrunken corpse of Agent O, that guy that Master was impersonating in Spyfall, so that's just lovely.
The Snake by Al Wilson is a banger. Thank-you for introducing it to me!
DAVIS: sings
Me: m y a n g e l p u t t h e d e v i l i n m e
You mentioned how Love Don't Roam is similar to that Al Wilson song. I think that Song For Ten has a similar melody to Memory Lane by McFly
Oh. My. GOD.
Ah yes, the Krotons, my favourite villainous brummies of Boer ancestry.
"Theeesss eeez a warrning, olll Gonds must leeeve the lurneeng 'alll"

Krotons is good. Hope you enjoy.

I like the idea of the Doctor being friends with Santa Clause.
i would have no problem never seeing the daleks again
This day last year I went to a Christmas eve Mass where they played "if there's tears there's hope" from season 10. I swear I'm not joking
God I was so disappointed with the end of the vr game when I played it
Marry Christmas!!

"Remember to be good. Bye-Bye!" - Jeff
not sure what i missed more: broke canon or your 12th doctor impression.
Jingo kinda reminds me of the Cyberking from The Next Doctor... Do you think that's where the idea came from?
The name "Cyberking" is just hilarious to me, it makes me think of The Pirates of Penzance "Ooooh.... I am a Cyberking, hurrah for the Cyberking! For it is, it is a glorious thing to be a Cyberking"
bye bye to you too Jeff
I have PSVR and would play the game if it were a different Doctor, preferably Capaldi.
Seventh Doctor is GAMER? He acknowledges we live in a society? BASED
Doctor Who confuses me at times
The Time Lords rid the universe of magic because they didn't want the competition
The 12th Doctor doesn't really believe in magic
But in both Doctor Who and Torchwood they've encountered magic before
If 13 is stuck at the End of Time, she can just stay there.
actually the toclafane would replace the Daleks in Who if Davies had not gotten the Nation's estates permission
I've just been reading the first of the decalogs (Doctor who short story collections) by virgin books, and in the story "prisoners of the sun" the doctor comments that he "taught Bruce Lee all he knew". this is a third doctor story set during s7, so assuming he's not bullshitting that means that Hartnell or Troughton trained Bruce lee, and I'm not sure which is funnier.
And 13 has just met Bruce Lee in the DWM strip!
there's quite a lot of stuff you've left out... are you SAVING UP for christmases to come? :P
