If Clara was shot right in front of 12, I'm not sure he could keep his cool to stop it detonating, his "The Doctor is no longer here" speech to Ashildr would do it. Yet at the same time, the Doctor sort of managed to for 4.5 billion years before he let everything out in Hellbent.

10 and Donna would end up like 10 when he first regenerated and met Jackie. She's panicking, talking 10's ear off while he's trying to get her to shut up 10: _realizes he's on a mine_ "Donna...Donna get back!" Donna: "What'd you mean get back? In truth, 9 and War probably need assistance the most and do not make it in-time before the companion is killed. If they haven't smelted already, they're goners then.
What about the 15th doctor? Would he survive? I think the random musical number that kicks in halfway thought might cause issues for him and Ruby if they were to end up in this situation.
Boom, the only good ep so far if I'm honest. Ncuti stole the show here! He really felt like THE DOCTOR. Funny, charismatic, cocky, badass, brave, political but also grounded. Perfect mix of character that made him finally feel well-written to me.
For Season 1 specifically, I'd agree (although there were elements of The Devil's Chord I liked, such as the full silence sequence ironically but the Maestro felt like a weaker version of The Toymaker which was never scaled down after being dialled up to 11). Personally, I think that Gatwa is one of those actors who always brings the sort of energy to their incarnation that makes me enjoy their appearance regardless of how I feel about the rest of the episode... which is a good thing because a) we're already halfway through the season/series and b) the Next Time trailer for next week's episode doesn't excite me much either.

7, Sally and Lysandra is an interesting wild card. This isnt a companion team, its a small army unit. 7 has 0 emotional attachment, and the emotional crux is on Lysandra helping 7 or not
Saw Kalki like you suggested. It's not what I expected from the synopsis. Very enjoyable! But there was a good 30min-hour of stuff there that could be trimmed, not least of which was because it felt so dedicated to standard Bollywood tropes at the expense of a tighter script. And I am once again suggesting people read Kubera omg. It's so good. Hindu/Buddhism inspired take on a heavenly war, complete with time travel.
It hangs in the first act forever and the 'to be continued' hit me harder than Dune's. Still unsure how I feel about it, but I'd happily take more 6 hours of that in future years.
If the Doctor figures out fast enough, that the body standing on the mine provides the explosive that will go off - a very swift retreat might do the trick: ups, I'm on that dumb thing - jumps back and everything is ok!
9th/10th squad with all 3 companions would wrap this up in minutes. Rose would talk the doctor through it, Mickey would grab the counterweight, help with the kid, and negotiate with the soldiers, and Jack would probably be good enough to disarm the mine with the doctor's coaching.

I think 11 stands way more of a chance so long as River is there- as prone as he is to tantrums, she can usually talk him down
River would probably solve it within 10 minutes, if she’s with Amy and Rory then it’s an easy win. It’s just keeping 11 calm enough.
