Could I suggest gluing a small ribbon tag on the underside of the bead tray in the front...it might help you lift the tray from the drawer a bit easier, when the dividers are in and space becomes a bit tight for fingers to move easily under the edge.
Thank you for watching, Amora! I found myself turning what I loved into Work and making my creative space feel beautiful and fun and orderly has helped me fall back in love with my work!
I totally get the out of sight, out of mind. I had a bracelet all ready to go, all of the components in a bag. I have spent the last year trying to find what I did with it. I just know that if I buy all the pieces again it will show up. It might be worth it because I really do want to make that bracelet.
Think this really funny,I was just wrkn on mine lol. I found like so many beads I didn't even know I had. I recently bought jewelry trays from Amazon, that are stackable, really like the idea of project trays
Thank you for sharing this!! I feel like I spend more time organizing than I do actually creating lol!! I am constantly looking for ways to get more organized to be more efficient! These are a great idea!!
I picked up a few years ago my first Bisley storage containers .. and love them .. they have inserts that can be bought separate. they come in cool colors ... I have always picked them up on a good sale at the Container store.. the ones I have picked up are all the desk top 5 draw style.. I store small jars in there of beads and components.. strands fit in there as well.. .
Yvonne you are my hero!!! I have 3 of these 6-drawer units and I have found those dividers to be quite a pain in the butt! And I didn't think I'd be able to get them OUT~but TA DA!!!! Thank you so much for this!!! Off to order more bead trays!
Right on!! I am so glad to be helpful to you, Robyn! I was so afraid of ruining my drawers at first, but they were so limited in use by having the dividers glued in! I am very glad I took the risk!
I purchased an adjustable artist three drawer tabletop sketchbox (same manufacturer) using your link. It has a fold down easel attached to use for my jewelry project drawings. Having a small craft room it will work best for me. Thank you for this awesome organizing video!
Love these drawers! I, too, have to see through the storage containers, so 89to see what is in them. The drawers are great, so you can cover up your bread tray, and drop it in the drawer and go! I LOVE what you are using the round kitchen tool organizer for!!
Am glad you called it a commitment issue. I do it all the time. I get something, think I have to use it exactly as it comes. Over (hopefully a short time) I change it to fit my needs. It just doesn't hit me that I now own it, so I can do what I want to with it. LOL.
I love using those drawers to store my cabochon collection. planning to cut thin corkboard or vinyl shelf liner to help stop the cabs from sliding around so easily
Thanks so much for doing this video! I have looked at those drawers several times on Amazon and wondered if the bead trays would fit. Good to know they do! Maybe hit the dividers with a heat tool for a few seconds and it would probably loosen up the adhesive. Love the storage idea for the wire! I use the 32 compartment beads boxes too and sort by color for the most part. I also use small divided bead boxes from Walmart for all of my shaped Czech beads. The boxes are only $1 and the aqua blue matches my studio perfectly. I have a few other bead boxes that have 12 smaller boxes in them and those hold some specialty beads. Organizing seems like it's always evolving and never-ending lol. Plus it doesn't help that I'm a bit OCD when it comes to organizing my studio. 🤣 Thanks again! ❤️
Re: Your first drawers. Put them on a 4-6 inch shelf (think book case shelf with legs, not attached to a wall) It won't block the table when you need to open them and you've just created more space underneath.
The wooden flat drawers are now on my Christmas list - thanks. I'm trying to figure out a way to store my pliers (too many). They always seem to fall over.
Mine too! And there’s a few other options for size I noticed. Meeden has 10 drawer units. And if you’re a math and/or bargain junkie it’s actually cheaper by the drawer. US Art Supply has other solutions for on the go as well. I’m just a nerd no affiliation or anything. Lol!
Oh and I have this old metal tool box for pliers, but I’m one of those out-of-sight-out-of-mind kinda gals. When I go searching I’ll usually grab the closest ones that’ll do the trick. Otherwise I get distracted and chase butterflies or little dogs stealing my Reese sticks!! Aaahhggghh! 😂
Get those name holder thingys that you can screw onto the front of the draw. Then you can write your project on a slip of paper & slide it in. That way, when your project is finished, you just remove that piece of paper.
I feel you, it's all stacked up with NO organization, in boxes and drawers that you wrestle open, then since they are plastic the move and start to break( not nailed to anything. ) Wish I could afford some organization. I was going to start making jewelry and got a spot in a co op when I lost my job , but it was incredibly expensive for the booth with no exposure ( back of store) so after 3 months of loosing money to her rent , and about $5500. Of supplies, it's all stashed in my bar area that no one uses.sad.sad.sad
Same. Then I get frustrated with myself 😂 It’s terrible to want to buy everything you see when learning something new or find a new favorite media. Only to have my OCD personality ask, “where is all of this gonna go”? Then my bedroom/workshop/living room turns into an ever evolving organization party of one with multitudes of random boxes/totes/trays (you name it and I probably have one [or two ])! Shew!! Say that… never very fast.. at all. 😂😂😂
@@stephaniemilam-olliges3445 Same here! The worst for me is knowing I have something but not being able to find it. I will check the place I know it SHOULD be several times even though I already looked there... because THAT'S WERE IT GOES! 😝 It never just magically appears there though.
Me too! I think it’s hereditary. When it came time to clean out my dads work space (his basement) we found at least two of everything. Except for screw drivers. We found twenty of them. All the same size all the same type. We also found a whole bunch of the same type of screws, nails, old bolts, nuts etc. We figured he couldn’t find ( what ever) he’d just go out and buy another one. It was faster.
I've recently bought plastic drawers to 'organise', but really things just get 'hidden' in the drawers. But it keeps things away, and disappeared into the void, never to be found again lol.
If anyone has a link to a person or another company that makes an item like the drawers I would appreciate it very much! ❤ I don't use amazon, so it really cuts down on my ability to find organizational items like these.
Oof, forgot to add that I absolutely love the way you've organized things here Yvonne, I want it for my own too! I have an absolutely massive desk and it's usually covered in bits of everything.
these look awesome, hope to get some. Maybe trim the sides of the tray down just a lil so it fits in better
Your process makes so much sense to me. Wow. The makeup trays for the wire. Genius. I have ADHD and so this just is GOLD.

Thank you so much for this awesome suggestion, Melony!
Thanks for sharing this video. Very fun and inspiring. Cant wait to put all my tools in a space where it is pretty and organized, like yours is.

sometimes that exactly what we have to do; just start it over and then poof! the original shows back up; now we have two!
Thanks for the tips. Just starting out and l’m an organizational mess.

Dollar tree has thin cork or shelf liner 💙
Super smart!
Thank you, that was helpful

Ah!! This is brilliant!!!! Thank you so much for the tip!
Great idea!
Thanks, Anna!
I use over the door clear plastic shoe organizer for my polymer clay. Frees up much needed tabletop space
oh that is Brilliant!!!
Where did you get all the narrow drawers?
I get them on amazon! amzn.to/3XuWXEC
Thank you

oof! Thats rough! Good news is, jewelry supplies don't go bad!
Can you put a ribbon on the bottom of the bead boards like you find in battery compartments, to make it easier to grab and remove.
That is such a good idea, Kera!
If I can't see what's inside I gotta label it or it becomes dead to me. 😋
I relate to that on a very deep level!

Where did you get the light wooden drawers?
How do you store your beads?

This is immensely relateable!!!!
Try scoring along the divider 1st.
How do you organise the wires ❤️🇩🇰
