I have little space in my apartment so one storage solution I use is a spice rack/nail polish organizer that hangs on the wall. It’s great for small bottles of patina and other odds and ends that would get lost in a drawer. Also for the people who have a candle obsession, the jars are a great repurposed solution for all kinds of things

Fishing lure wallets, look like a soft canvas 3-ring binder, zips up and the pages (like document holder) are heavy duty and good strong zip-lock. Don't worry about keeping it flat.Aso has handle. Inexpensive

I saw your video a month ago about the pastel, pencil holder box and ordered a double 5 drawer box. Its here now and its going to be perfect when I figure out how to organize it. I had hoped the inside dividers would come out but man they are really glued in there! Thank you for making these videos.

I know, the inside deviders are glued unfortunately. It's not issue to me personally, but I can totally see why it would be best to be able to move them :) I need to get the green lining for mine, I would prefer it that way. Will do an update in the vlog once it arrives :)

Fav is mag strip, I use it for 60+ burs. I have 32 pairs of pliers (how does THAT happen? lol), wouldn't fit on bar. Maybe time to get another magnetic strip. Love the drawers, good for cabs and work in process, you are right! A hack from me: the long hard plastic soda can holders for the fridge the long ones, perfect for all bagged supplies.

Fantastic tips, thanks so much! I make upcycled costume jewellery and all my storage is repurposed or secondhand - I use the food trays from quorn sausages to sort all the jewellery that comes in for recycling, as well as storing the loose beads. Hiya Lady Stardust, how was Christmas for you two? I love all seven ideas, I use some of them but personalised. The document holder, I put a A4 sheet of black card in each one. It stiffens up the file, that's good, it shows off what is in that pocket without showing what is behind, ie less distractions. I've a magnetic holder on order. To hold all my little bits I've a small parts draw set. It's 6 across by 10 high little draws, clear plastic with a handle. Room for a masking tape label, everything together but still apart. It's a blue metal box holding it all. Cup hooks screwed into the front legs allow for holding steel rules, saw frame etc. For making jump rings I read about using knitting needles. So got a whole set from amazon in mm. I haven't cut them down but only use a small part. I wrap the cut off coil in masking tape, slip the blade of my saw through & cut from the inside out against the bench peg. I started making chains & still love making them. My light I got when I was doing x stitch, it's made by the 'Daylight bulb co' & is great for colour matching plus having sunlight on me when I work, great for SAD plus being nice & bright.
Have a wonderful new years Basia, all the best to you & yours...Stay safe...Steve x...

Hi Steve! Christmas was lovely, the whole break, I needed this! I'm slowly getting back to work, and replying to comments and messages. Also trying to figure out the new rules after Brexit, and who they all mean for my small business, a headache! Truly! But it will be ok. I love your organisation hacks too! 😍 And the way you make jump rings, really awesome. We both wish you all the best Steve, stay safe xxx

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing I'm glad you had such a great Christmas, even though you were stuck here. I know you will figure out the post Brexit headaches, you're a very cleaver lady! The hacks were fun to steal off others, OK I changed them a bit to suit my situation, but yes, I've used a lot of what I've seen others do. The jump rings I've used ideas from others in books I read when I was starting to learn, put them together & la voila! I still want your set up!!! It can be hard to go back to work after a break, starting easy is I've found the best way. Holidays are a very stressful time for couples, suddenly all that time together with no escaping off to work?!? You come across as a very strong pair so that's good. I've been listening to loads of Beatles tracks the last few days, I got one going around in my head, the Germans call it an ear worm, so had to find it & play it. "Here, there & everywhere" A great song. let it be is playing at the moment...
Another essay from me, You both stay strong & safe please...Steve xxx...

Did you get my message that I found the borax cone and the bowl on Rio Grande for the best prices, I shop on Amazon a lot but the borax cones were very expensive on Amazon.
I just when to Instagram and I’m following metalsmithSociety and they are many ideas.
By the way I’m from Dallas, Texas... Actually outside of Dallas at Grapevine Lake it’svery beautiful here.
But it’s super cold and rainy today. I’m so glad you are making more videos.
That’s my next challenge... I’m actually very nervous to start doing UA-cam videos,
so I do have a Facebook group and blog so I’m planning on starting there first and start teaching some of my easier jewelry designs first.
I’m just starting out so I’m needing a lot more followers.
If you would like to follow me to just let me know if it’s okay to post on your site.
I think it’s only right to ask permission first before I add any of my information.
I’m much older then you and I wished I had started much earlier.
But when I was in my 20’s I did life an exciting life. I was a Kilgore Rangerette on College, then a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, then I was a aerobics coordinator for Richard Simmons anatomy asylum... now I’m older and I need to lose weight...
Do you have a wonderful and blessed day..
.Did I ask where did you get the drawers that holds all of your beautiful stones
where do you get your strips that help your jewelry and silver from tarnishing so easily.
I now buy 935 silver it contain an alloy it starts with an a I can’t remember how to spell it but it helps your sterling silver to not tarnish so easily or even at all...
      Have a Blessed day

@@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Hiya Lady Stardust, do you store your 'Clean' silver, no solder, seperate from your 'Dirty' silver with solder? If you do:- When cutting your base plate around your cabashone bezel, cut close, but not too close with shears. The off cuts will be 'clean'. Then saw to the desired spacing ready for filling, this may/will have some solder on & so be 'Dirty'. The 'Dirty' can go for reclomation, but the clean you can melt down yourself too use as plate or wire. Or send it off also but for a higher return.
Strange what thoughts go through my head as I'm falling asleep? Why shears? A lot faster as you are not working that near a line. You may not save a lot of clean but any that you do is money in your purse not theirs!
      Stay safe Basia...Steve xx...
