TRIP REPORT | First Time on Qatar Airways A380! | London to Doha | QATAR AIRWAYS Airbus A380

- Qatar Airways Trip Report flying from London to Doha onboard one of the Qatar Airways A380s on a beautiful winter day both in Europe and Asia.
A comfortable flight from London Heathrow T4 to Doha Hamad International onboard the Qatar Airways Airbus A380-800. This was my first time flying on the Qatar Airways A380 and I must say it's a great plane, like any other A380 I've flown to date. However, I felt that other A380s had more legroom than this one. I'm not saying it wasn't good, but the legroom could be better.
We took off from Rwy 27R in London Heathrow. Just after departure we made a 180° turn to the left and started our route towards Doha. We crossed the English Channel and entered Belgium, flying towards Brussels. From there we flew over Cologne, Frankfurt, and Nuremberg, before entering Austria. We overflew Linz and Vienna, flying towards the Balaton Lake in Hungary. From there we flew towards Serbia and Bulgaria.
We then reached the Black Sea, which was fully covered by clouds. We entered Turkey and, luckily, the clouds disappeared when we were starting to fly over the Zagros Mountains. This was the first time I saw them fully covered by snow. It was really amazing! We flew then over Iraq until we reached Basrah. From there we flew towards Kuwait City and entered the Persian Gulf, flying in direct course to Doha, where we landed ahead of schedule after a beautiful night approach.
About the onboard service, around 1h after departure, the crew served the main catering service which for this flight was breakfast. I went for the Chicken sausage with scrambled eggs. It came with some fresh fruit, a warm croissant with marmalade, and yogurt. Everything was quite tasty, but once again, I found the size of the warm meal really small. That was the reason why I asked for another one if available. The crew said that for sure I could, they had spare meals. With that second one, I felt it was a perfect meal size for the 5h connecting time I would have in Doha.
Around 2h before landing the crew offered a snack. It was a chicken pastry (also called "All Day Snack"). It was warm, which is something I really appreciate... but it wasn't anything special. Very plain in flavor and it didn't look very healthy. Good for a snack but I guess you expect more from the airline that was awarded 7 times as the best in the world.

That's exactly what they were.
6h shouting, talking aloud disturbing everyone around, hitting my seat... Clearly, those 3x 10+ years old boys didn't know how to behave in public. If that's the case, they shouldn't be taken on board. And if they do, their parents should be next to them taking care that they don't disturb people. None of that happened.
Respect is not taught these days.
I genuinely appreciate the inclusion of the safety demo during taxi - it adds a reassuring touch to the flight experience. Hearing fellow passengers chatting during climb-out brought back fond memories and brought a smile to my face. Even though I'm a frequent flyer now, it reminds me of my early days of flying. Kudos to maintaining these aspects! On a related note, just like the comfort of a smooth flight, I rely on Express Parking for stress-free and efficient parking solutions whenever I travel. I'm really glad to see “Türkiye” instead of “Turkey”. Also at 18:13 there are Türkiye flag on the huge building due to earthquake as an earthquake survivor ı really speacial thank to Qatari people.

This trip report shows the true experience that 85% of travellers, like us, go through, on our travels. Great video again this week. 😊 Qatar Airways was super & I always love seeing the giant bear at the Doha airport . Food did look 😋 delicious. You were right about the boys behind you . Wow, that person sitting next to you was particularly annoying. That would have annoyed me for sure. Apart from that, it seemed like a good flight.
There were 3 boys seating behind me.
To be honest, it was one of the worst flights I've done thanks to those ones... on the video you almost don't hear them because I used 5h extra to edit all the sound onboard so the viewers don't need to listen to the bull***** they were saying and doing.
@@OnBoardHD yeah man, it's unfortunate you had to sit near them. Some people just don't have manners or a social conscience. I would have used my noise cancelling headphones but as you're doing a review it's not that easy. Good job on remaining calm.

As someone who was like that as a kid, I can tell you why. They have never been in a plane or haven’t been on one in a while so it seems so cool to them. They’ve probably only seen the plane once or twice, and considering it’s an A380 as well, they sure must have been real excited. However I can see your frustration and annoyance with them as well.
Had that on etihad airways the kids kept kicking the seat so i had to go back there and kick there as- @@cun7us

The A380 is amazingly smooth, we flew from Amsterdam to Dubai and the sound inside was also very low according to normal planes.

Flew with Qatar in Jan on their now discontinued Auckland - Adelaide service. QSuite was amazing! Economy on the return leg also a pretty solid product 👌✈

Thanks for this excellently detailed trip report. I will be experiencing my first flight on the A380 though I have flown many trips with other aircrafts. I intentionally route my flight to Africa via Doha. I was planning to document my trip but you've done such a good job with this documentary that made me shelve the idea of repeating what you've done. Hey! This is a nice video and chill experience, glad you tried the Qatar airways a380. You could have gotten upper deck economy class it will be better cause more space and legroom.
I had the chance of it.. but the windows there are tilted up, so the video quality would have been much worse.

Amazing review mate, I would love to fly the QR 380 before they retire it. I seem to have missed this, why did they disembark your flight directly into the gate area? Don’t they shuffle all passengers into transfer security first?
It depends on the origin of the flight.

Una pena... Emirates insistió mucho en que estaban muy interesados en un A380Neo... pero parece ser que eran los únicos en todo el mundo, de ahí que el proyecto no saliese adelante...

Like the idea of boarding music. The boys there sound like they are having a great time. Not too bad.
Not too bad until you realise that more than the 60% of the audio of this video is edited to not listen to their noise. Until you realise that they were hitting my seat all the flight. If I wouldn't remove their shouts and noise from the video, you wouldn't watch it.

Algo he leído sobre ese proyecto de aerolínea... qué quieres que te diga... suena a bluff de los grandes... Sin embargo hay gente reputada del mundo de la aviación que dice que van en serio... pero muchos otros dicen que no van a llegar a hacer ni 1 vuelo... veremos...

20:54, so do only some flights not require passengers disembarking to go through transfers/security? I guess passengers from US flights have to go to the transfers/security section right?
I don't know what are the countries that disembark directly to the boarding gates and which don't...

I can't remember, to be honest.
I done this same flight in January then onward to Delhi on 350-900. Good flights.

I flew LGW-DOH last week with Qatar on an A380 (Upper Deck) in economy, and I have to be honest and say that the seats were some of the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on.
I'm a OneWorld Emerald frequent flyer, and compared to British Airways, Finnair and Iberia which I have flown on recently, their seats on short-haul are far more comfortable.
Overall, the 'Qatar Experience' was somewhat underwhelming.

Like the Boeing 747 before it, the Airbus A380 is simply the 8th wonder of the world. For airlines to even think about taking these behemoth machines out of service before their time is absolute insanity.
Well, the problem they have is that it's not so easy to fill them.

Doesn't look any different in economy to the 777 ER .....same configuration 3 4 3. But we certainly enjoyed our experience on Qatar Airways recently and the 14hr layover in Hamad Airport
The seat configuration is the same but the cabi size is much bigger. The feeling is much better :)
