    Meat Eater is the BEST show in television hands down. Steven Rinella is the absolute BEST example of what a TRUE hunter is and should be.. we need more like him showing what hunting is really all about and supposed to be.. shout out to Joe Rogan... welcome to the world of TRUE hunting!!

      130 at least. I keep hearing words from him that I have read in good books over and over and he must have good spacial awareness to hunt and most likely a good grasp on patterns as well from reading seasons, numbers and the movements of game. He reminds me of Anthony Bourdain in a lot of ways even though they are/were very different people. It's so amazing to hear someone who built most of his communication skills from novels instead of conversation or text messages these days. I'm just glad he isn't as existentially tortured as Tony. At least 40 more years of carefully considered ideas and prose ahead, just hope I don't die before I hear it all.

  • @theoutdoorsman9726

    Lol in rinella’s first time on , joe argued with him about how hunting in these preserves that are fenced in where the animals can’t escape is just the same as real fair chase hunting. Now, on this episode, since he’s starting hunting he understands why it’s completely different. He was pissing me off so much in that episode when he argued with Steve about that subject, saying you should have the same feelings for killing an animal in that way and couldn’t understand why Steve disagreed with hunting that way. Crazy how much starting hunting opened his eyes.

      @deathwatch962 11 років тому +6

      Still don't understand what peoples problem is with that ep. The dude was obviously very well read, even if he had overblown sense of importance.
      I tend to find that Joe's audience dont always handle eps with uncomfortable atmospheres like the DeadMouse and Kilstien one. Might be the stoner lot.
      I wasn't particularly enamored with his opinions either. Still a good listen. The Kilstien ep was still fun to watch, even if it was only because Kilstien didn't know what the hell he was talking about in the slightest.

    • @Whoneedsvids
      @Whoneedsvids 11 років тому +3

      I hated it. I think the guy was intelligent, and he made some valid points, but all that was completely overshadowed by his douchy nature, and constant need to be right. Like the whole 1000 mg of Vitamin C thing, where he entirely missed the point of the sentence. The point being that using a lipozome or however it's spelled, allows the body to absorb more of whatever you're taking. But he just kept harping on the 1000 mg part of the sentence, trying to be right about not needing that much vitamin C, effectively missing the entire point of Gordon's sentence. Joe told him that several times yet he either ignored it, or just flat out didn't want to admit he was wrong. And that's one example of a 3 hour long podcast where he was being an insufferable douche. That was my problem with the episode. I find it insulting the way you lump us in as "the stoner lot" as if there's no valid reason not to completely hate listening to that guy. There were plenty of reasons to hate that episode, and the guy. Namely that he was being a total douche the whole episode and always sounded like he was speaking from a high horse.

    • @deathwatch962
      @deathwatch962 11 років тому +1

      Whoneedsvids Oh. I agree wholeheartedly. I didn't like the guy either. And there were points where I got bored and stopped and came back later so I might have missed pieces.
      And I wasn't even referring to you. Just the people who dislike some of Joe's guests because they arn't mellow as fuck. This one got a lot of flack from them as he was pretty negative.
      This definately wasn't one of his best eps XD
      Pretty sure Joe wasn't feeling it much either.

    Great show! I love Steven's show Meat Eater. In regards to hunting Elephants I used to feel the same way because I considered them highly intelligent. I cringed the first time I saw one shot on TV. However, since then I've read that many Scientist believe pigs are highly intelligent, significantly higher than elephants. Pigs solve complex environmental situations like a 3 year old human child. So if I'm cool with killing and eating pigs (and I most certainly am) then how can I be opposed to doing the same with elephants solely based on intelligence. Elephants are very majestic animals and I probably will never hunt one, but I've changed my mind on the ethical hunting of them.
    Keep up the great work.

      I can't argue with your logic. But few animals taste as universally good to all people across the globe as pigs. Maybe that is why they are born to die and consumed in mass despite their intelligence. I cant speak to the taste of elephant meat. But if they taste as good as pigs, then I want to try some despite their intelligence.

      I haven't seen it since highschool. And I remember liking it too. It had a horrible theatrical release, berrly made any money, but then it seemed to gather a cult following. I have a feeling its something i'm going to watch again now and cringe at though...

    Smoking anything results in the absorption of toxic benzene and carbon monoxide due to the combustion of carbon. Studies have shown the cannabinoids MAY offset the effects of the toxic compounds. Vaporizing is much cleaner.
