Glad I found this. You want to know about Scott? So I met him the first time I saw them live. He asked me some small talk questions and it was done. A year later I saw them again, after the show I stood outside smoking a cigarette. He comes out and a girl comes running up asking to take a picture. She struggles to hold the camera right for the selfie and he stops for a moment and looks at me, with a wagging finger trying to recall something from his mind he goes "ummmm Zack right? Will you help take this picture?" She left and he asked "So last time I saw you you were in Charlotte, now you're in Asheville? YOu still running that business? How are things?" To my surprise this man who met me once remembered so much. We stood there smoking as if we'd been friends for years. No fan / artist dynamic. 2 years later I saw them again, after the show waited in line to get something signed for a friend, the person in front of me overheard me say that I've seen them a few times and when that guy got to scott he said "I'm your biggest fan man, actually no wait, this guy behind me probably is" and his response "Ha that's Zack. He comes out a lot yeah". We talked for a bit and I left. That was the last time I saw him. Stories like this and even more intense ones flooded the FR facebook group when he passed. Stories of him paying for people's rides home after shows because they were drunk. A story of a girl at a show in Glascow who somehow just lost her home, where he says "you know fuck it I'm staying with a friend tonight, my roommate isn't at my apartment, just crash there tonight". Incredible human. Sorry for the novel. Thank you for the interview. Cheers.

That is a great story. How lucky you were. But you also made the efforts. Well done. What an generous, amazing guy he was.

A great, and true, analysis of Scott's lyrics. Poke for example. One of the most heartbreaking songs ever written about a breakup, with the line, 'Kicked its cunt in', in there as well. The man was a unique and brilliant poet. No question.
