As a UK owner of the V3 for around 6 weeks,I am surprised with your software comment. Not sure where cartoony and chinese is coming from unless you are actually using a chinese rom phone. I have found it so much better than Samsungs child like and cluttered OS. It feels slick and well polished to me as a previous S24 Ultra and Pixel 7 pro user. Takes a bit of getting used to after a change over from another OS but has some great features that I'm enjoying. Latest update added Googles circle to search despite the Magic OS already having its own version and I think the future is looking bright as the sales of this phone look to be going through the roof. My personal opinion would be not to dismiss this phone on the software as I think it has everything you need for an enjoyable user experience. This is the phone i have enjoyed the most over the S24 Ultra and Pixel Pro.
I'm using it for a month now. Great phone, véry good pictures, good speakers. Bit slippery, so hold on to it carefully. Software is also useful. For me the battery is outstanding, at least a day, and ending the day with 25 or 30 procent.
How much screen on time do you do because I'm charging twice per day and ending the day needing charged again.. battery health is showing as perfect. Due to the speedy charging I don't mind but one charge for whole day and still having 20-30 sounds insane to me
I am sure you have a chinese version. I have the global version and it is absolutly diferent from the chinese version! Works perfectly with google AI cloud, perfect android auto, everything!
As a Samsung Fold 4 user since its release, I haven’t felt the need to upgrade. After comparing the Fold 4 to both the Fold 5 and Fold 6 in person, I noticed that the differences don’t seem significant enough to justify switching. I've stuck with it, and honestly, the only issue I’ve had was when the fold mechanism stopped unfolding completely flat, which required an insurance claim. Aside from that, touch wood. It’s been a reliable device. Lately, though, I’ve been seeing a lot about the V3, and after watching several videos, including yours. I’m starting to think it might be time for an upgrade. With hardware, cameras, and other features starting to feel a bit outdated on my Fold 4, do you think the V3 is worth making the jump?
Oooh tricky one to answer. I love ONEUI but the not the Samsung hardware on the fold 4. My favourite phone of 2024 was the V3 as it's an amazing device. It is worth the upgrade and always remember you have 14 days to return a device bought online.
I've used Samsung flagship phones for the last 10 years, but this phone hands down beats them in features, quality, software, and overall feel. For example, the Samsung hinge is horrible-my Samsung Z4 Flip broke three times, causing the screen to go black, and it cost me £440 to repair because a small scratch on the hinge case voided my warranty. This was despite Samsung admitting it was a manufacturing fault, which I found laughable. With the case on, this phone feels much more protected. On top of all that, I managed to get a better contract deal by using the 'leaving trick' with my phone company. When you're up for an upgrade, ask to speak to the retention department. Don’t settle for the first or second offer, and push for a deal as close as possible to your current price. I got my contract down from £84 per month to £62, which I find much more manageable and worth it, especially since I’ve had this phone since its release.
Totally agree with you. The service from Samsung is really crap. I used to the the very same thing and speak to retention team in the UK and it was always worth it. In Spain sadly it doesn't exist. They don't care whether you sign up or renew. Ha
Is this your first ever folding phone?!? Like seriously mate….the only time I’ve seen inner screen issue problems is from like 1st and second gen Samsung folds.
@@marcelontech Fair comment but tbh I used to have the Magic Pro 5 and the software seems to have improved massively, hopefully things will only improve. Thanks for the vid!
Nobody ever notice that the crease of the display can deteriorate over time with leakage by a green line along the fold and that is the reason why honor offers a free replacement of the inner LTPO screen within a year. So be aware before committing to part with $2K.
That's great question and I have used both. I would say I prefer the V3 personally but they are very much on par with one another. I prefer the form factor of the Honor most
@@marcelontech damn now i wish i got the honor then haah, but i think the honor phone is not that functioning in US because of the chinese ROM stuff right?
I dont understand the problem you list. Every folding phone have the same problem with screen and also the cameras. Also the price is the same when it comes to folding phones. If you want a folding phone you dont have any choice to avoid it
So you agree that the folding phones can have the problems I have listed? Also when the consumer is asked to pay such large quantities of money I think it's fair for us to ask for the best the company can offer in terms of cameras

They are all becoming more reliable and it is too early to say which has best track record. Better to look at you give your certain protection which Honor do.

I feel like the durability concerns are universal I like to marvel at foldable screens but are way too clumsy to own one it's why I daily drive gaming phones because they are built like tanks
Good review. Been using since the global launch and I agree with all 5 of your reasons. Camera is decent but subpar in low light condition compared to flagship devices. However I think its a acceptable trade-off given the sleekness and thinness of the device. Still in awe with its form factor 😍
It's priced cheaper than Samsung's Fold 6, IV had both phones. You cannot really compare a folding phones camera with a non-foldable I would rather have a bigger screen on the inside to enjoy the photo more, than more megapixels I have had S24 Ultra. The phone is as strong as you can get for a foldable dropped mine twice not a mark on it.
Brilliant thank you for that comment. I totally agree regarding the screen but I also want the camera to be the best they can to take advantage of that screen.
What i don't like about these Chinese foldables is that the software is not really for a foldable phone... its like a tablets software on the bigger screen... where Google and Samsungs softwares are much much better because they are focused for foldable phones... and don't say "well bigger screen is like a tablet" no its not... because we are in a new era so every company should make a specific software for actual foldables and not just stick a tablet type shit software for the bigger screen... example the notification its just a tablet style thing where Samsung and googles gets devided in half and you have a lot more info and interactions same goes for stock apps.... i love the design amd hardware but software lets it down....
Crackling sound isnt points against it compared to anything else. All foldable develope that. The comparing the camera to a S24 is pretty pointless as Samsungs Fold series doesnt even have a camera that good. In reality, theyre closer to Samsungs Fold series which also isnt points against it compared to others. Yes the phone is expensive, but its actually cheaper than a Samsung with everything you get. Also shouldnt be a point against it. If anything, it should be a point for it.
The biggest drawbacks for me were the camera and battery life, I felt like they were bad to the point I couldn't really justify using it over a normal form factor phone. I took the phone with me on a trip and the image processing was so bad it ruined a lot of my shots, the battery was also performing worse than my old phone that's on 90% battery health :( The software also had a few annoying issues, like spam notifications you can't disable whenever you fold/unfold with an app open, or the qualcomm aptX one every time you connect headphones.
Interesting your experience with the battery I have always been impressed but then have always had regular access to charger. The notifications are little annoying with the app modification based on opening the device but I found this helpful most of the time. No experience with the earphone connectivity
This phone doesn't break if you drop it on the floor. Do your research before you make a review. Lastly, if you admire Samsung then get Samsung and stop trashing the best foldable in the world.
The guy says the problem is the hinge and from what I understand, he points out this is a problem on ANY foldable! Again with the price, it seems to me he's saying ALL foldable are pricy. At no point he says it's worse than Samsung hardware wise. He says the software is worse than Samsung's, but I'd say that's a given!
