Great review! Have you had any issues with the photo processing? In particular, I’ve heard the AI will alter facial details of people (more common in low light and in close to mid ranges.
In low light situations, the photos did look pretty muddy and lacking in detail, but it wasn't anything extraordinarily bad in my experience. It does have a specific processing style that you may or may not like.
I have the Global version also and don't have notification issues (other than the power intensive alert). As for stutter only Reddit and UA-cam sometimes have slight lag for me. So far haven't noticed in any other apps or the app drawer.
Reddit stutters on literally all phones. It's not the honor magic. The stock app is just trash. Just google reddit jitters followed by the name of any phone and you'll find posts of it.
Hey Jamal, are you interested in checking out the Huawei Mate XT or are you planning on waiting for a global release? Seems like a good device for your all-in-one quest.
Honestly, if I had the money, I would 100% buy it right now to try it. Hopefully one day I can get my hands on it, a global rom would also be nice too.
Do you know if wired desktop mode is supported on other honor devices such as the honor 200 pro and magic 6 pro? I currently use dex on a nexdock touch. Thanks for the videos 👍🏽
Here is my short Pros/Cons list. Made it this weekend to help decide which to make my main phone (and whether I should keep with Magic v3 or my Honor Magic 6 Pro slab with similar features and tossed in the OnePlus 12 for fun since it now has Android 15) docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xsLJz_naW4tRTrI51C1Ix-8HiuBkOYzUa4X6I-8UEnA/
That has not happened to me, but I don't use my nails to press and use the fat part of my finger tips. There are videos showing this phone going through some extreme durability testing.
@@CliffR yeah ive watched these videos too, but they are mainly focusing on the exterior of the device, my main issue is the inside screen. anyway thanks
The inside is soft plastic. It's not specific to this device. It's the only mass market consumer tech available for folding screens. It's exactly the same on z fold on vivo on oneplus on nubia, etc,. But since it's closed when in pocket, you're way more likely to get scratches on the normal screen. I wouldn't worry about it. I have 0 scratches inside my 2 year old zfold 4. But I saw a shane craig video where the spot he scrolls his finger during social media browsing had a bunch of micro scratches from his nail running along the screen. It was only visible when turned off at an angle against the light. Not visible turned on.
Foldable inside screens are pretty durable nowadays, but there's always that risk of a random failure regardless of how durable they are. The safest option is to buy insurance with a foldable phone if possible.
Just traded mine for a z fold 6. I fucking hate the camera on the v3. When you zoom in on the photos you take, especially of people's faces, it has a horrible artifacting or like this ugly processing it does. Idk what it is but I've never seen it happen on any other phone. I hate it. It's not HDR or AI or beauty mode, I had everything off and tested it and it still did the horrible processing. Had to dump it. Much happier with the z fold 6.
@tarekmohamed6401 if you care about photography, do not get the V3. Honestly, it's literally awful how bad the photos are ruined when you zoom in and see how they butchered faces and splotchy colors. I would 100% get the Z fold, I'm using it right now and I'm much happier with it over the V3.
Interesting take. For me the hardware trumps the software. I dont use many OneUI features so dont really miss anything. Only the power usage notification is anoying but fixable. Software can be improved over time, hardware is what you got and wont change. Yes if samsung made a device this slim with pen support on both screens I would never had thought to buy the v3. Glad they didnt as this is my daily now and has been since day of release. Oh and the price of £1399 was also a no brainer compared to the Fold 6 and the Pixel Pro 9 Fold.
I agree that software can always be improved, but a lot of these companies don't really do that. A lot of them pump out so many phones and forget about their previous ones that have glaring software issues. Idk if Honor is like this, but the promise for updated software isn't always reassuring.
I've been impressed with the speakers, how they have fit everything in such a slim profile is incredible
Definitely one of the best foldable devices of 2024
My v3 battery is way better then the Samsung folds.

My V3(Chinese Version) no problem with notification delays matter
Watching this video on my best fold Honor Magic V3😂😂

Yes and android should have it eventually. But not sure if any are as in depth as dex.
Good review!!
Should i buy it or fold 6???
I have both and absolutely love both for different reasons. If Jamal is ok with it, I can share a "pros cons" list between the two.
@CliffR you can say anything you want here, lol, don't worry. I wouldn't mind reading your pros and cons list 🙏🏿.
@tarekmohamed6401 they both are good devices and have different pros, it really depends on what you value the most.

Hey, how durable is the main screen? The only thing keeping me from buying it is that its scratchable with fingernails.

Honor is the best hardware on a foldable and the fold 6 special edtion w25 is the best software in my opinion and that one has a nice front screen
Awesome phone!

I got the global v3 with no issues, maybe you were given your v3 by Samsung & the video sponsored by Samsung 🤣🤣🤣
Looool ya Samsung sponsored my tiny channel with 2.9k subs to hate on Honor
@JamaltLee yep , gives the feeling of grassroots authenticity 🤣
