To new drivers don't worry if Swift or Prime is a bad company, just do it and get the experience. People talk shit about McDonald's all day but the lines wrapped around the block.😂
Prime is not a bad company. It is what you make it. I got a buddy of mine teaming with his wife. They are buying their truck. Just bought a house. He makes lot of money. I know someone who doesn't have to work. He owns 15 trucks, teams on all of them. Buys new truck whenever he feels like adding another team. Private financing, he averages $120,000 to $160,000 a week in revenue, that's before expenses. My point is opportunity is whatever you make it.
Man!!! When he said “ get out and help that new driver… “ and “ THIS IS A COMMUNITY..” that hit home! Been on my own 4 months , started training about 7 months ago, and I’ve helped a few new drivers already the way my trainers helped me! I know it Made a difference in those drivers days! If you have 20 years or 20 months ,we should all learn something new every day and help other drivers when need be!! Love the vibes this guy puts out!
I am with Swift right now. Just got done with my 3rd week solo. Starting my 4th week tomorrow. They treating me good and I am loving it. Still learning how to maximize my clock. Mountains are crazy and now I will start learning how to drive in the snow. But its all amazing and a learning experience.
Look for a 13 speed manual for your first truck. If you plan on running the Rockies regularly you might want an 18 speed manual. Always go down one gear lower than you went up and DO NOT TRY SHIFTING GOING DOWNHILL. Use the Jake brake to slow the truck and feather the brakes every 5 mph like 45 back to 40 or 40 back to 35 until you're all the way down. This prevents the brakes from overheating like the 24 yo that crashed going down I-70. Stay safe
I went brand new as a company for prime . made good money. learned frieght lanes, how to run. went lease with prime, made good money. wasn't for me to much time out, starting a family. Congratulations brother, i am a company driver local in chicago not loving my pay much. I want to go into owning my own truck, do you have any advice on getting a truck or routes i should look into?
Bro, you speak volumes. I'm a veteran myself, I've worked a normal job for years, but it is not for me. I'm trying to get into trucking as we speak. Most of us crave that sense of purpose and that sense of individualism. I've always been much better on my own. Thanks for a good and honest video
@@ramtough4384 As a veteran myself and son of a trucker the 9-5 thing never worked me either. I like living an unorthodox lifestyle. Today I meet my Prime trainer and tomorrow morning my trucking journey begins when we hit the road
My guy spoke straight serious facts here! I appreciate this interview as a service man myself, finally pulling the trigger at starting my Trucking Career.
Couldn’t agree with him more. We should all give that person having a hard time a hand. Just be a spotter for em. I’m an oo and some times things on my mind about home or just plan tired and the only spot open late is a blind side. I’ve had drivers spot me so I try and return the favor when I can. We are all in this together.
I’m a service connected veteran and I’m about to start CDL school. This one interview has me jazzed up and excited. Great information I’m going for knight to get my start. Thank you for this interview and your service.
First my brotha, thank you for protecting the US Constitution! This video answered a plethora of questions that I have about trucking. I am brand new to this industry. I feel more at ease as I move towards gaining my CDL class A license via Swift. Thank you again! Be safe! Be Blessed!
Man this is the best interview I have seen on your channel. I would love to meet this guy. Keep up the good work and spreading information for people like me who are getting ready to get into trucking. Love your videos brother.
Idk anything about the other companies but I'm in orientation with Prime inc and I got to say.. the people here really do take care of you and they truly care about their drivers and their safety..
I have been watching your videos past few days, I have been thinking of getting intro trucking. Each of your videos are very informative. I have few of my friends who got into trucking past few years and now some of them own their own trucks etc. I know it will be hard at start but nothing good comes easy in life.
It’s so true. When I was in the military I got so used to being told what to do, how to do it, be here at this time or that time. That once I got out I didn’t have that. And it took me a long time to figure out what I wanna do
This man has a ton of knowledge great stuff. I'm so thankful my dad drives and owns his own truck he taught me everything and helped me get my truck and authority. Working hard and driving heavy haul locally is my deal now. I thank God for all my blessings.
Don't lease from the company you drive for. If you can't pull off a load board you're getting screwed. I had $17k gross last week with a lease purchase truck & carrier only gets 12%. $12k after ALL expenses. You can't do that with these lease purchase programs where your carrier controls what freight you pull...
You have lanes out of Central Texas? I'd like driving at 88%. Does that include fuel and tire discounts, tags, plates, and insurance or whatever else they offer?

Here at Prime, new trucker been off my trainer truck for 3months now. Love Prime setup. Jumped right into it as a lease operator. That's a myth you can't get loads right away. I made $6700 gross my first week of Authority with TQL and Uber Freight. Truckstop will give you a list of 40 brokers who will work with you. The system wants you to lease. So they can make a butt load of money off you. I only took 1 load less than $1000 but that was an intrastate load.
