I worked at a Chinese restaurant for like 2 years and my bosses parents were the cooks and man I had some good authentic Chinese food and this was one of the soups on the menu I would always get it with less pork and more carrots and extra broth with a bowl of white rice. I’m glad I came across this because I would love to try and make it myself .
@@facp1922 Thanks so much for the info. I actually made this soup again just a few hours ago, but I hadn't seen your reply. I will garnish with spring onion next time.
hi ronald, since u have blanched the pork ribs so thoroughly at the beginning and threw away the water, wouldn't all the flavour of the pork be in the water thrown away? So how could the reboiled pork and the soup be tasty? thanks in advance.
The beginning is usually the pork blood within the meat & surface of the bones being excreted out. Which is why the water is murky and has that dirty foam. But once you continue to boil, the true essence of the bones are extracted. And the soup remains clear but flavourful :)
My grandma watched this vid and said the first step already totally wrong. Blanching pork rib should be only blanching, not boiling. The fire should be low and not let water come to a rolling boil. It should be hot water blanching until u see foam. Also that extra 10mins of rolling boil almost gave her a heart attack, she said all sweetness gone liao. 😂
Fortunately for me, chicken stock plus corns, plus potatoes carrots both unskinned but washed provided two days stock of soup for the summer winter of Melbourne s chilly December. Oh so nice to drink soups ala winter styles. Sometimes I also try sweet vegetables like fennel and onions cauliflowers. Top ups are also just add ons to extend the broth serves another day or two. Happy as abc indeed
After blanching the bones for so long and throwing away the sweetness of the soup, I think the ribs look kinda dried up. Wonder if the soup is still as sweet. Otherwise this is a yummy meal
Guys, please never wash your chicken unless it dropped on the floor or is contaminated with soap or other harmful chemical. If you do wash your poultry, do it as carefully making sure that the water does not splash after hitting the chicken as salmonella (a bacteria that can be found in raw chicken) could contaminate your sink, clean plates, or other hazardous areas.
Stop telling people not to wash their meat. You don't know how it was packaged and if the meat dropped on the floor prior. Always wash your meat and avoid cross contamination would have been better advice. Use different cutting boards for meat, fish and vegetables to further avoid cross contamination. would have been a better advice.

@@hellion83the last part before you eat

Mmmmm looks yummy. Still not quite soup season in the south but going to try it out soon!
Can we achieve the same result with a rice cooker that has the soup function? The chicken tends to bcome hard and dry, any tips to keep it tender?

exactly what I am thinking, hopefully the soup was not wasted

Thanks! I grew up eating this, and ive always wanted to learn
You make it look easy.
It's easy instead . As easy as ABC literally 😁
Love the kitchen ware

My favorite home chef
Do I have to drain and wash part when using chicken?
more soup videos please!!
im proud of u because u respect of muslim religion ❤
Super tasty! I cooked it with chicken without the Chinese wine.
Should I add in chicken stock cubes ?
It seems so tasty, I love to do it on my kitchen❤️
So easy! Thank you!
the easiest and delicious soup
Can also be use a pork bones?
Thanks, will do this.
Can beef be used instead of pork? If so, do they have to be boiled for 10 mins too like the pork?
Million thanks 😍
The previous video I watched added tomato in this soup. Would you recommend it?
I want to see your version of peanut soup. 😬😬
Does seasoning before or after the soup is done make a difference?
Thank you!
I also won’t add corn cuz it’s overpowering. I would add peppercorns to give it an extra oomph! Now I’m going to ntuc to buy the ingredients hahaha!
Would you blanche the chicken drumsticks?
Oh, should use red onions? I always use yellow onions 😅
How long can we keep the soup for, if I want to drink it for the next few days?
Just store it in the fridge and it will be just fine.
New Subscriber here im ofw here in Singapore❤️
Thanks for subbing! Hope you’ll enjoy our recipes, Grace.
Nice Roland
In Philippines we call that nilaga hehehe
Add nutmeg, celery, scallion will give more flavour.
THANK YOU
Thanks
Can I replace the pork with mutton?
Yes u can! Im replacing it with chicken!
Sometime i put macaroni in this soup.
Shall I throw the first water ? Why ?
I would had make the soup juice a little thicker
Why there’s no tomatoes?
What type of potatoes are recommended for soup?
I would say yellow potatos or yukon golds
I always cooked this for my family in Philippines 🥰
You missing something sir? (Sweet corn) 🌽 hehehe
Can we cook in the instant pressure cooker pot ?
Yes
Sir why called ABC soup?
Becoz ABC soup usually contains 3 ingredients ( meat, potatoes, carrots)
Vitamin A from carrots B from meat n C from onions n tomatoes if using.Leftover soup can be used as,a base for macaroni or mee suah.
Easy as abc
why not cook pork for half an hour then add potato and carrot ?
So potatoes can take those minutes ,i dont think so
please make another spicy dish

Yuumy! A bit Russian style soup
It is. Quite popular in Russia.
Adding in corn on the cob n sliced chayote adds in extra sweetness.Leftover soup makes a good stock for meesuah.
❤❤❤
If add tomatoes inside more flavorful…
Sometimes I add sweet corn for more natural flavor 😋
😋
❤
If you use the instant chicken stock to make the soup, the taste wouldn't be as "natural" as you described. 😅

Sepertinya rasanya kurang segar
Krn gak dikasih tomat, daun bawang dan seledri
Chocoobaar company Kulfaa choco Nariyal Pani 😂😂😂😂
"If your Muslim excuse rice wine..." You missed the part where it's PORK 😂
😅😅😅 pork is the most prohibited food to Muslims
Looks bland. Missing tomatoes.
'If you're Muslim exclude the rice wine in your PORK dish.'
Good morning. What roland meant was if you’re using chicken, you can omit the wine
This is prison food !
Nooooooo

You think too much.
There’s nothing wrong with washing chicken. Stop your misinformation.
Even 2 years old know better than you 😅
So sanitize your sink regularly, stop telling people not to wash raw meats. 😅😅
Let's go see good food
