My Mom would have given you a million stars because of how clean and clear your broth was…that was amazing! I’m definitely using this method for soups and stews…so much curb appeal! And Dude’s sheer enjoyment sure doesn’t harm the recipe! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! TFS, Sharon🤗♥️
Oh, Flo and Dude, I'm definitely making this soup this week. Our weather here in Georgia is the at the perfect Fall temps for it. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you from NZ! Best easy affordable tasty recipe. Love the pork washing tip. My 10yr daughter can smell it cooking and cannot wait to dive into it.
Yum! I bought ingredients to make something similar because my husband wasn't feeling well. My mom used to make this with carrots, potatoes and tomatoes.
Happy Sunday! This looks fantastic. I make a similar soup with beef chuck. Not as good as ribs but still good. I usually don't add ginger, will have to try it. Thanks Flo. 😘
Oh my, this is called ABC soup. Grandma( who is from Malacca) use to make this. She would also add peppercorns, chunked potatoes and one corn on the cob chopped up. There was not much meat in hers but the broth was to die for. This is my go to soup when I am not feeling well. Winter is coming. Living in Northern Minnesota, we have to braise ourselves for 6 months of winter. Thus this soup is very handy for me. I use chicken or pork ribs. Your videos bring back many memories for me.
I kinda blew past this because I'm not a big rib fan. But I returned and watched and I loved all the veggies. I'm looking for ribs next time I go to Costco. Great video as usual.
It looks sooooo good. I am scared using a pressure cooker. So I would do it the regular way. My mother in law ( she and my husband lived in SUFFOLK in the country side) They had a wonderful kitchen , a pressure cooker and were going to cook beetroot. I don't have to say more ! 🤣 The kitchen had to be painted again ! 😂 We ( my GERMAN FAMILY) do it with rib of beef, the inexpensive pieces. Carrots, leek, white cabbage, celeriac. To give it even more flavour 1-2 marrow bones. It's so delicious ! When we serve it, it's our family tradition, we put the vege on a warm plate, until all vege is done. Cut up the meat in cubes, on a warm plate. We start with noodles, put the vege on the noodles, on top the meat and then the broth !!! Sprinkle parsley over it. It's full of flavour . It warms you up . I will cook it again, because I love it especially in AUTUMN and WINTER TIME. And it's AUTUMN . ♥️♥️♥️🇩🇪♥️♥️♥️
Ideally that fit into the day , rainy outside , lazing , can’t be bothered to cook too much , but have to survive , nice dish unfortunately , no pork ribs like yours , so beef will have to suffice. Happy Sunday 🙏
That would work but just check it to see if the meat is tender enough. You could always let it go for longer Three and a half hours should be enough, but I would start checking it at almost 3 hours because it might be done by then I'm figuring. You don't want mushy vegetables also like she said but you do want it done of course. I know cooking like the back of my hand I used to watch my parents cook since I was a toddler. They were phenomenal cooks!
Hi Flo, I hope you don't mind a question about cooking wines. Unfortunately, there's no Asian market where I live, so I asked a Friend to pick up some items for me while in the city. The store she went to didn't have shaoxing wine, so they gave her Ku Yo Dragon Mountain salted cooking wine instead. Would you recommend this as a good substitute for shaoxing wine? I am afraid to ruin a dish by using the wrong product. Thanks in advance and thank you for another delicious recipe, I'll be making this soon! ☺️
That should be fine. ShaoHsing has a distinct flavour to it but any cooking wine would be a good substitute. Definitely wouldn’t ruin the flavour but just give it a different flavour. I often switch between regular rice wine and ShaoHsing wine. Hope that helps.
@@FloLum That's very helpful, thank you so much! I also appreciate you correcting my spelling of shaohsing wine. It's important to me to get it right, so that's awesome 🙂
Sorry… wasn’t correcting the spelling… both ways are acceptable. 😊 Example: The Anglicized spelling of Chinese characters depended on who wrote it down when you immigrated. LOL The Chinese character for Lum is the same for Lin, Lam and Lim.
My version of ABC I put corn of the cob, potatoes and a small gammon joint or flavour. I don’t add any salt or pepper, I just allow the ingredients to come through.
i tried a similar soup recently , the broth was very nice, nothing like British soups obviously but very light, i used loads of smaller veg but not in pressure cooker, definately going to try this one
One of the best things about fall is warm hearty soups and stews! Enjoy! Happy Sunday! 💕

This soup is mouth watering. Will need to try this would've thought of adding ginger. Thanks for a new soup for me to try.

This looks really good and yet so simple. Thanks for sharing!
Looks yummy! I have made beef stew but never pork. Thanks for the idea. I don’t know where you found carrots that nice.
Agree those are really nice looking carrots. 👌
I think they are called nante carrots and we can find them at most local supermarkets but mostly in Asian markets.

It looks delicious! Actually the weather in Germany is to warm for fall (24 °C / 75,2 F today). If it get's cold I will make this stew 🙂
Awesome 👏
It's so good
You hit it out of the park today. My next soup is the barley, I'll save this one for later. Do you have anything made with ham hocks?
I usually make split pea with ham hock but not on the channel.
Need recipe!😊
so on a stove , you have to cook the pork longer and at low heat in order to get them tender or almost fall off the bone?
Saw a cool trick to skim the fat by placing ice cubes in the ladle and the fat would stick to the back side of it
Wow i loves soup❤️🥰
Would this recipe work in a slow cooker? If yes how long should I cook it for?
Looks good!!! How about some Asian flavors added? Will check Costco next visit!
Hi, Master, what's the brand of your pressure cooker
awesome

What about 3 1/2 hours in the oven, covered?

Liked to see how that spoon is used, I thought it all had to be held with the chopsticks
Would this pair well with noodles?
Looks like soup.
Wow u really filled that pot up - thought it was unsafe to fill that much - thought I read something about only fill 2/3 full😊
FLO, HELLO, WHERE CAN I FIND SS BOWLS LIKE YOURS WITH A POURING LP ? they are NOT in your iems page , THANKS,,,,;;;🇬🇧🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sorry… I bought them from Costco maybe 20 years ago.
HP soup, 1.15 hour will be better. All soup steam 2 hours is ideal.
I dnt eat pork instead can I use which meat?
❤❤❤❤
Why did you use a pressure cooker
That is a very full pressure cooker. I don't think you're supposed to stuff it that full. There should be a line for Max Fill.
Simple food Simple faith ❤ I love you already!!
My version of ABC I put corn of the cob, potatoes and a small gammon joint or flavour. I don’t add any salt or pepper, I just allow the ingredients to come through.
Faith 🙏✝️🙏
too oil ly !!! ox tail too🤔
How is it that you and Dude aren't fat?
🤣
I'm a fan of the channel, but your husband's segment is too long.
i tried a similar soup recently , the broth was very nice, nothing like British soups obviously but very light, i used loads of smaller veg but not in pressure cooker, definately going to try this one
Can I use instant rice in oriental cooking
