Much appreciated! A bit noisier than Lutron shades but you can't argue about it for the price and convenience. I'm super excited about affordable automated shades for everyone.
The battery just ran out today (after 4 months). Don’t know if came fully charged🔋 I estimate that I have been rolling them up and down approximately once a day.
Are there favorite positions or can you say "Alexa , blinds XX percent"? It would be disappointing if those blinds only support up, down and stop commands.
I got a 100 and 120 cm blind. 120 sounds much more silent. Guess different motor. It sounds so much better I may buy another 120 and use your tutorial to cut it to size and swap the fabric.
Hi, thank you for your video. I bought one of those. Do you have any suggestion on how can I remove it if needed? I mean, you install that by inserting the blind to the bracket (with the click sound), but I don't know how to remove it from the bracket. Thank you
@@DIYtechie For us it was extremely difficult to take it out, but I think it was because it was not put in right in the first place. The right one came out at a light touch no matter how many times we tried to put it back in; the left one was near impossible to remove. Eventually we got them both out and inserted them both more synchronously, at which point it still took a few tries, but then it worked finally. Still not entirely sure what went wrong the first time or what we changed exactly, but hope this somehow helps someone regardless.
The measurement on Ikea's website says it has 195cm max. I could't find anywhere the answer to this question: is 195cm the total extension of the fabric, or is this the total measure of the entire unit when fully extended (fabric + tube + top frame with battery compartment?). I wanted to use them in my living room balcony doors, and the distance from the floor to the top of the doors where those would be mounted is 210cm, so it looks like the blinds would be 15cm too short... Is that the case or do I need to count 195cm + the size of the top unit? I appreciate if you could help!
I want to mount this inside and my window opening is 31.75 inches. Does that mean the 32 inch ones are too wide without cutting them down just a bit or trimming the window trim? Would I be able to cut the window trim just a bit to get them to fit?
Ethan Thong - Yes and no. Made a video just to answer that question: IKEA SMART BLINDS cut to size - how to make them fit your window (more info in description) ua-cam.com/video/PL6LPZZoFlo/v-deo.html

do you feel like they are noisy?
How much space do you need on the ceiling to mount these on the ceiling? Like how long is the bracket the curtains are mounted on?
My body is ready... And so is my house too I guess.... Can't wait to add these to my SmartHome!
Same here !!

So these sit over top of existing blinds?

Timothy Redaelli Simply press the casing towards the window and tilt up. Clicks right on and off again.

P.S. Luckily it is not too hard cutting the blinds to size: ua-cam.com/video/PL6LPZZoFlo/v-deo.html

Is it possible to program curtain to scroll between 2 positions?
Only via external software/ hub. Not a built-in feature.
Question. Can the blinds be installed inside the frame (where you have your other blinds) or is it too big for that?
