After watching this video and several others that covered this model, I went into a store yesterday looking for reloading powder. Well they didn’t have the powder I was seeking but right there in the display case was an FN 510 Tactical in FDE. I had to have it.
I carry mine for duty use. Such a sweet gun. Have it broken in now, trigger is pulling (5 pulls three times) at an average of 3.12 lbs. Hate the ambi mag release. And 22rd magazine prices, holy smokes.
@Ares.945 I make custom holsters, so I made a level 2 with a hood and optic cover (Holosun EPS) for the 510 with a Holosun PID Plus. I've got it set up on the QLS forks and a drop leg.
Palmetto State Armory has their AAC line of 10mm ammo, in 180gr, which is a FMJ bullet traveling at 1,200fps, which is most effective (cost & power wise) for 10mm range ammo. I used to buy Underwood's Range Ammo, but then I came across AAC's loading
I actually bought one in FDE and am really enjoying it. Like you saud - eats everything i put through it. Ill admit - holding that 22 rd mag makes me say DAMN...with a smile on my face. Im trying some Hornady 180 gr xtp and Winchester Defender through it. So far so good!
I was just contemplating buying one of these as my first 10mm after watching Chukes channel. Now I am set on it. Thanks for the video. Maybe I will put an MPS on it

10mm is what most people think it is. I’ve chrono’d more than a dozen off the shelf ammo and it is t near as powerful as it used to be. Unless you buy boutique or reloaded, you aren’t getting what you think.
Could only wish that Norma started up their 10mm Auto line. Before "My time" in IPSC, but I have heard "storys" about original Norma ammo... and Why 40 Short & Weak was made 😀 😀
I have the 510 tactical and the trigger is mediocre. I only have 100 rounds but don't expect the trigger to get better. However, I am very happy with with the overall package.
Surprised to see a review on 10mm. Aaron only seems to do 9mm. Other reviews on 10mm seem to be ammo sensitive if it is "true 10mm" velocity since there seems to be a wide variance among 10mm.
My favorite gun purchase of 2023. I have a Steiner MPS and Surefire X300T. Excellent balance and very accurate. I have over 1000 rounds of 10mm through mine without issue. I have around 300 rounds of .40 SW through it as well with zero failures.
How do you like the MPS? It intrigues me but i dont know much about it. I really want an RCR but goddamn is it expensive. Currently im running an RMR on my 510T.
As an owner of a FN509 pistol I have to agree that the FN pistol is extremely reliable and accurate. With said, I believe that FN as a company suffers from cognitive dissidence. They are incapable of admitting that they made a mistake such as producing striker pins that brake (been there), sub par triggers, and not producing a reversible magazine extraction button. If you are introducing a new pistol, why not improve on your existing design and not rehash the same old same old? Is FN being driven by innovation by giving customers more value or being driven by accountants? Looks like the FN510 is a good pistol, but good is the enemy of excellent. They can’t coexist. I’m expecting more!
Funny enough on the FN 509 Midsize MRD-LE I recently acquired, it has a reversible magazine release. So maybe they’ll do that on all 509/510/545 models eventually. I agree entirely with the criticism of it, but it doesn’t bother me on the 510 as much as it did the commercial 509 - I guess just because the frame/grip is bigger, and thus I feel less likely to accidentally hit it on the wrong side or unintentionally.
Just put some money down on a FDE 510 Tactical. Can’t wait to pay it off! Now I need to decide if I want a Streamlight TLR1 HL or a SF X300 Turbo. It will be a woods gun so I feel like I’d like to have the extra distance of the X300 Turbo. I really wish Cloud Defensive would just make that damn pistol light but I’m convinced they canceled it as they don’t ever mention it anymore and ignore all questions about it… Update: Got the X300T for $270. Holy crap it’s bright AF! Almost seems brighter than my CD REIN Gen 1. May just be an illusion with how tight the hotspot is and the temperature of the light. Very happy with the SureFire and it’s always nice to know SureFires warranty is best in the bizz. I have experience with both SF and Streamlights warranty and SFs was far better, no questions asked replacement of an old abused light. The Streamlight was an issue right out of the box and they did take care of it but it was a longer, dull process. Plus Candela is king imo. Hope Streamlight makes a more affordable high candela pistol light for those who want it. I’ll definitely stick with SF and Cloud Defensive.

My first gun I ever purchased. I EDC this bad boy on my 3 o clock. Something about a gun that can take down a bear and a human sits right with me. Literally feel safe everywhere I go. Woods or the hoods
My FNS 40 and the 510, 40 being the little brother, i found, shot the exact same way. Both are snappy, powerful, and decent rounds. Neither do i find the end all caliber. I still lost more 9's in the boating accident a few years ago
Had a Glock 40 MOS and hated it. Just could never get it to feed right. Polished the feed ramp and that helped a bit. Then learned about the 510 sold the glock and picked this up as soon as I found one local. Love the ergonomics and just easy to shoot compared to the glock. Only problem i have had is doing press checks and it not going back into battery, but im sure it will work its way over time of shooting. Have my Kenai holster on its way and cant wait to start carrying it as it has sat in safes unless going to the range. Been watching you for years, love the videos and keep up the good work.
I keep calling apex trying to get them to make a 40 s&w conversion kit. I think it would make a ton of sense. I wish fn wouldve offered this gone w 2 barrels and springs to make it very versatile

10mm in a polymer pistol is a no for me. Having bought a RIA 10mm years before any other maker was making a high capacity 10mm except Glock, I’ve grown to love the 1911 platform in 10mm. It’s not my EDC but the FN 510 wouldn’t be either. This is a backup bear gun, or possibly a hunting pistol that could be pressed into duty service if needed. I also own an FNS 9 which is the precursor to the 509 and it’s never been anything short of outstanding! I would expect this to be a good choice though if your looking for a duty pistol in 10mm.
Something to consider: if and when congress outlaws standard-capacity magazines, 10 rounds of 9mm just isn't going to cut it, so I would absolutely expect 10mm to make a comeback once that happens.

I shot nearly 5k rds of Magtech 180 gr. FMJ through my XTEN without issue.

Man love my 510. Great balance and I normally can't stand hinge triggers but this is exceptional.

Checked one out at my LGS, debating between this, the M&P, and G20 Gen 5. What you get out of the box with the FN is actually pretty impressive.

There's no such thing as over springing a 10mm, you're just running light ammo.
