Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊There is nobody quite like BABYMETAL. They started in 2010 as a sub-unit of a school themed JPop Idol group (they were aged 12 and 11 at the time) and created their own metal sub-genre mixing Metal with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics (this is what the "baby" in their name is about, the birth of a new genre ... it is also a pun since heavy metal and babymetal are written and sound almost identical in Japanese).
They separated from the parent group in 2013 and have been touring the world every year (when they could) since 2014.
We have watched them grow up and become one of the very best live acts on the planet.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist and the whole concept was formed and developed around her vocal talents and stage presence - she is exceptionally talented), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo).
The original third member was Yuimetal, she left the band in 2018 for health reasons, Momometal became the third member in April last year.
The backing vocals are the parts the crowd will sing along with and they are a huge part of what sets BABYMETAL apart from other bands.🦊
They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band, all of them are world class instrumentalists. Since 2019 they have two Kami Bands, the Kami Band of the East (the best Japanese session musicians you could ask for) have been with them since 2012 and full time since early 2014. The Kami Band of the West (American musicians) joined them in 2019 and have been the full time support for the lengthier tours around the world (they played nearly 100 concerts in 25 countries last year).
You will only see and hear the Kami Band in live performances, they do not record the studio versions (with one guitarist being the known exception).
They have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will mix and blend so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - usually when you least expect it.
Their official videos are all very good, but live BABYMETAL is best. I'm sure you will get some great suggestions for more songs. Some are straight metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. All you can be sure of is that they will surprise you every time, you will not be able to predict what you will see or hear from them next. Expect the unexpected.
'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and they're going hard singing and dancing about a spicy Thai papaya fruit salad. 🥝
Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song).
F Hero is a rapper from Thailand. He flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of BABYMETAL's 2019 tour (that was where this was filmed - this is the official video so the audio is from the studio - there is a live video for this performance with the live audio and it is even better).
They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance.
F Hero was rapping in this song to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle.
They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices in the right amounts into life will make that better too.🦊

One thing that's cool about BABYMETAL concerts: Nobody will give you strange looks if you don't headbang. You'll see all sorts of people, from 6 to 70+ year-olds, all genders, races, ethnicities and religions, metalheads, Pop and idol fans, wearing battle vests, grunge looks or tutus, headbanging, dancing or just jumping around... and it feels like a crowd of friends, united by a single purpose and the huge smiles they are wearing. The only thing you could possibly do wrong is not move at all.
The show you have just seen is not a one-off, they are always as fun as it looked here. My recommendation for a little older song to check out would be "Headbanger" from the "Legend 1997" show. But you can't go wrong with any song.

It's always a treat getting to see folks like yourselves experiencing Babymetal for the first time. You had so much fun with it that it becomes infectious. Babymetal is a truly unique band and odd as it seems to many of us westerners they have never had more than the most tiny incidental anything to do with Anime.

Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 This popular and exhilarating song was performed numerously in BABYMETAL's 2023 world tour and already 3 times in USA this year (San Francisco x2 + Las Vegas). BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover)
We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music".Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
    Please explore BM more. 😄

Babymetal is actually very wholesome and for all ages, at live shows you can see all kinds, from less than 10 years old to more than 65 year old.
I've seen a video online ones, a few years old baby, when it was listening to other music, the baby would cry, when it was listening to nothing the baby would cry, but when Babymetal was playing, it would be silent.

These Babymetal is one of the best live bands out there who’s been active since 2010, when they were age 12/11.
They mix all sorts of genres and influences with heavy metal and J-Pop like vocals, choreography, positive and uplifting message, and delivers it in an amazing live performance.

Now that you've seen them, I would like to rescind my previous recommendation for Catch Me If You Can - I'll admit I chose that one just for the psych-out/shock factor 😁 Next up I would suggest either Road of Resistance Live in Japan from the official channel or Headbanger live at Legend 1997 (which was in late 2013 - the lead singer was born in 1997). Cheers!

There are two things no one expects...
    1. The Spanish Inquisition
    2. Babymetal (and what they will do next, you cannot predict it).
Others have mentioned the members and the Avengers (fill-in dancers), the Avenger in this video was then 14 year old Kano Fujihara, who like the others was previously a member of Sakura Gakuin. Like Su-metal and Moametal, she was "Student Council President" her last year in SG and like Yuimetal and Momometal, was considered arguably the best dancer during her time in SG. She is now in the JPop quartet, @onefive along with 3 other SG graduates.

Most people's first time seeing BabyMetal is jaw drops, WTF, hell yeah which you fitted perfectly.
If you do decide to go down the foxhole then it's best to start with their early videos, they started in 2010, when they were very young, hence BabyMetal, and then follow the timeline to the present to see their progression.
First would be Doki Doki Morning from 2010, video from 2011.
If you do go along for the ride it's wild and wonderful and BabyMetal reactions are pretty much guaranteed views, likes and comments just beware of copyright strikes.

Although it is F.Hero doing the growling in this one, you might be surprised to know that BABYMETAL themselves have a growler! The newest member Momoko Okazaki (aka Momometal), who was officially elevated to a full member last year (she was previously a backup dancer, one of three called the Avengers, who were not official members) does death metal growling as well as clean singing. Check out this video for a sample of that: ua-cam.com/video/42DyIH-uAyM/v-deo.htmlsi=GxVjlXbW1fm-XeWy

I enjoyed your Electric Callboy and Bilmuri reactions. Glad you finally reacted to Babymetal. PA PA YA is fun, especially live, but they have many more interesting songs to check out than it. Y'all might be interested to know that Electric Callboy, Bilmuri, and Polyphia will be performing at Babymetal's inaugural Fox_Fest in Japan in a few weeks. We're hoping that Babymetal will perform "Brand New Day," their collaboration with Polyphia guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage, live together for the first time there. Maybe we'll be blessed with a Babymetal-Electric Callboy collab too. There have been hints.
Bring Me The Horizon's "Kingslayer (feat. Babymetal)" is another song to check out. Look for the official live in Tokyo performance.

There is a special way to do the headbanging. Floor Jansen discussed it in a video if you're interested.
Babymetal has been around since the ladies were just kids at 14 and 12 (hence the name). A couple songs to listen to are Headbanger Live at Legend 1997 and Road of Resistance. They're lots of fun and heavy as can be.

Great reaction! They'll usually leave you with a smile on your face and feeling good. Do look at more of them (live preferably - they are a live band) - but best in the main to avoid "official" videos - they usually miss intros , can be studio overlaid on a concert - and of course the crowd responses. You'll get plenty of suggestions I'd guess :)

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Nice song to start your BM journey, isn't an unusual reaction but isn't so recommended either, regardless you're gonna surprise with this group in every song, sometimes you'll feel heavier, sometimes more poppy or just different like this one.
Both recently did another collab along with Bodyslam called Leave It All Behind so that's another cool song for you to enjoy next time.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop (not Kpop) with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About the song:
You're jumping into Metal Galaxy 2019 album.
Last year fans at Bangkok had a blast with this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this 2019 live version in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist.
F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used as an ingredient in a popular Thai salad.
It's a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans of all generations enjoyed at the recent World Tour 2023/2024, and we're definitely gonna see more this year.
If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021.
This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun.
The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena, Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, luckily he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them had mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status recently changed in April when one of them, MomoMetal, became a new official member, but again the one you saw in this official live MV is Kano-chan.
The official MV got album studio sound so wait to hear the blaster sound of the Kami Band playing this live.
I'm gonna leave in my next suggestion where to get more safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. Meanwhile next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV
    See you next time 🦊🤘❤

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      ua-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      ua-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/v-deo.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/v-deo.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      ua-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/v-deo.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      ua-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/v-deo.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/v-deo.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      ua-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/v-deo.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      ua-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/v-deo.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      ua-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/v-deo.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      ua-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/v-deo.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      ua-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/v-deo.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      ua-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/v-deo.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      ua-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/v-deo.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      ua-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/v-deo.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV, be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.htmlsi=BsVOSExS25Qndy1H
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      ua-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/v-deo.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.

Difficult to describe just how BIG Babymetal are ( there not just some novelty act ) . In the 14 ( yes FOURTEEN ) years since they started they have either opened for , toured with or collaborated with some of the biggest bands on the planet - Metallica , GunsN'Roses , Korn , RHCP , Sabaton , Bring Me The Horizon , Rob Halford ( Judas Priest ) , Tom Morello ( Rage Against the Machine ) etc etc . They also regularly perform at the world's biggest Metal Festivals and a couple of months ago finished their own sell out World Tour where they performed in front of crowds up to 20,000+ . They are the real deal !
In addition to checking out their own stuff I'd recommend this collaboration with BMTH - " Kingslayer " Live in Tokyo

This band takes over your life. As all Japanese metal bands will do. Incredible talent coming from Japan.
Another banger band is Maximum the Hormone - koi no sperma live. They kinda started this Japanese music evolution. Along with Japan X. And a few others. Ningen Isu is another older Japanese metal band. :)

@@dna2001 well, anime music is just Japanese music. But yeah they usually put something hype in the beginning and end with something more chill. Not always but usually.

It's because of reaction channels like yours on UA-cam that i found my 3 favorite bands, and you have reacted to all 3.
    1-Nightwish
    2-Jinjer
    3 BabyMetal
You may find new favorites by doing this.
Oh, only the 3 girls are BabyMetal. If you watch stuff from 10 years ago, the name makes more sense.

I must apologize but I take issue with you comparing BABYMETAL to anime music: BABYMETAL is not anime - never has been and, with any luck, never will be. Evidently, many people jump to anime simply because they are singing in Japanese, and anime is the only place they’ve ever heard Japanese singing. Would they still sound like anime if they were singing in French or German or Swedish or English? An observation made by someone on Reddit: "A lot of Japanese people who listen to BABYMETAL never talk about anime (because there is nothing anime in BABYMETAL) and often wonder what's with those stupid anime comments from the West." Okay, rant over.
The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after watching a number of them! Anyway . . . .
You’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of these recommended songs (along with suggested versions):
Doki Doki Morning (official music video)
    Iine! (official MV)
Gimme Chocolate!! (official MV or Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
    Megitsune (official MV)
BABYMETAL Death (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version) [for those who are religiously sensitive, see the Budokan Black Night 2014 version]
Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Song 4 No Uta (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Uki Uki * Midnight (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Catch Me If You Can (Budokan Black Night 2014 version)
Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Live at Sonisphere 2014 version)
    Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! (Legend 1997 Apocalypse version)
Road of Resistance (Legend 2015 New Year Fox Festival version)
    Karate (official MV)
Meta Taro (Five Fox Festival version)
    GJ! (Fox Festival 2017 version)
Sis Anger (Fox Festival 2017 version)
    Shanti Shanti Shanti (official MV)
Pa Pa Ya!! (official MV) [DONE]
    BxMxC (official MV)
    Metalizm (official MV)
    Metali!! (official MV)
I would include the links but, for some reason, UA-cam sometimes thinks I'm posting spam and will delete my comment. For the links, see the UA-cam playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty”; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014). There are playlists for both on the HEAD123456 UA-cam channel. Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)

Because whenever someone reacts to an Asian band or singer, in this case from Japan, the crude comment is always made that it sounds like anime, it's like stigmatizing that someone from Latin America always sings sounds like reggaeton, I watch anime and it doesn't sound to it for nothing, so much so that these girls have killed themselves to gain respect in the world of metal for great bands, so that they come to react in a mocking tone to the comment, anyway...

    • @aegonthedragon6341
      @aegonthedragon6341 17 днів тому +6

Yes it does, I've been watching anime for decades, listening to Metal/JMetal since the early 2000s and found Babymetal in 2015. Music for anime is usually selected from the JPop and JMetal scene, and people in general are more familiar with animation regarding Japanese pop culture, than they are with their music or idol scene. It is only natural for the average person to relate Japanese Metal/Pop/Rock with the music used in anime. BABYMETAL is Jpop and Metal, it does sound like that.

    • @_HolyHell_
      @_HolyHell_ 17 днів тому +2

It's really not that big of a deal lol people just relate it to things they are familiar with and that is an opinion personal to them, nothing wrong with that. I have never watched anime so I didn't relate their sound to that, but I also don't like the band at all, which is another opinion that is okay. Not everything has to be so serious
