One really important tip I would mention is that rewind has NO range limit, and can affect literally anything you can see. So many times of accidentally dropping a contraption off of an island has been saved for me by using it.
It can also be used to find where drops rolled off to by making the trails visible.

Another one: Rock Octorocks (the ones on the goron mountain) can each repair one piece of equipment. Go up to one, drop the item, back away so they come back up and suck in your weapon. Which they will then spit at you instead of the exploding rock they normally shoot. This works once per Octorock, once per blood moon. So if you have a particularly precious weapon you want to keep, you can repair it.
This could be, say, that OP sapphire staff you made, since you might not want to have to mine or buy sapphires to make new ones.

In fairness to brightbloom arrows, they have a much farther reach than throwing. And in particular when using the giant seeds that have a massive glow radius and aren't nearly as common as the smaller ones, you'd have to already be in pitch black territory to get full use out of throwing them. I have 200 arrows and 30 giant brightblooms, so I absolutely will be using arrows to use them more effectively.

And yeah, after looking it up, I'd think "how did I not think of this myself? it's so easy", but I didn't KNOW that until afterward. Even in BotW I struggled with some of the Divine Beast bosses because there are NO leading instructions whatsoever. They just tell you "yeah turn on all the terminals and defeat the boss!" but how in the fuck am I supposed to turn on all the terminals first if I have no clue where the final one is? How am I supposed to defeat the boss when they have an impenetrable shield? That's why some of us use guides for CERTAIN parts of the game. Nobody is saying "gee whiz this shrine sucks ass, I'm gonna look up a guide on how to do the final main quest!", we're just stuck in some areas or we need a little help so we look up a guide for those specific things. I always used brightbloom arrows, and I'm surprised people keep running out of arrows. Crates and other breakable containers tend to give you 10 arrows each, and they're everywhere just waiting for a simple axe swing. Brightbloom arrows have significantly longer range, which is very helpful exploring the underground safely

    • @thenecromedic

I think the problem is arrows are used a lot more in this game compared to BOTW. In BOTW I never ran out of arrows. Starting this game I left the tutorial island with ~200 arrows but after a few hours of exploring the ground ran out. Its a lot more important in this game vs BOTW to actively buy and collect arrows every chance you get, and since that first time running out and being more active I havent ran out again.

Two fans and a control stick can be used to make a highly efficient vehicle in the form of either the hover bike (fans attached to controls in line), or the "goblin glider" (fans attached to the controls on the sides). It costs 9 ore and goes far further than the rocket-on-a-plank (you can also just keep re-using it once your battery recharges). It is well suited to exploring the ground and underground areas. The fans should be at an angle so that they push down and back.
You may wish to build the initial vehicle in a flat area near wooden materials so that you can make use of them to be able to hold the build in air to make it easier to get the fans lined up. Then save it to your autobuild and you have a high speed vehicle that can both ascend and descend, and is very efficient battery-wise for a flying vehicle.

I use arrows for brightbloom seeds sometimes, but I've found that the best use case for it is if you're in a wide open underground area. If you're not sure how far away something is and you want to land the seed high up on a wall, then fusing it to an arrow is really useful. But probably the best way that I've seen to use brightbloom seeds is as headlights. The Zonai ones only have one beam and don't show much, but if you have a big brightbloom seed, you can just throw it at your vehicle and it gives bright light in every direction, while not using any of your battery. I love using it for my hoverboard segway, because when you're high up in the air you can't easily see the terrain with just one beam of light

One thing I noticed, but haven't exaustely confirmed; is that if you are in a cave and there is a tree root on the wall, go near it and you are guaranteed to have an "ascendable" spot.

My personal recommendation, especially if you still have a lot left to find, you can ride around on the dragons. You can pick up some extra useful materials while on their backs, and the horn you can get (and pick up instantly right off of them if you're standing on their head) resets every 10 ingame hours. I had an absolute blast riding Farosh and Naydra around, even through underground sections as they will go through chasms on their paths. Keep an eye out for any shrines or certain noteworthy underground landmarks, mark them through the scope, and get some really powerful weapon fuses at the same time.
Going up a chasm also feels kind of satisfying. They are quite slow tough, so you have plenty of time to admire the world around you. Less so if it's all pitch black underground, but eh.

I promised myself I would not touch a single guide until I at least finished the main story, or feel satisfied to the point I can casually use it without getting spoiled either through story, lore or experience. Best thing I have ever done as discovering new things through exploring, experimentation and trial and error made the game feel more alive and satisfying to do than the reward for doing it through a guide.

I also really enjoy the things I discover by myself, but like... I enjoy finding things that I wasn't looking for, if that makes sense. I like finding caves or cool areas on my own, I like to discover strong weapons on my own, but it is so goddamn annoying to be stuck in an area for a quest, only to have no clue what the fuck I'm doing. A neat Paraglider trick i found with Tulin's wind gust ability: When activating Tulin, a second after you activate it, keep pressing B and X (dismiss button and jump/paraglider button) with a bit of leeway in between each button press. You'll keep the momentum from Tulin's ability until it recharges and you can do it again. I found this out myself and it's proven super useful to me.

better than autobuild rocket, take 6 springs, put them on top of each other into a tower, climb up and activate. you get some pretty great height.
if you want to go far instead, build a ramp, attach the spring tower to it, put a plank at the end to stand on, activate the springs.
it IS more expensive though (if you don't have the springs in your inventory)

I was using arrows to toss seeds downstairs and realized I had blown through like 50-60 arrows. For some reason my brain decided I couldn't throw while on my skeleton horse. Anyway, I fixed that mistake. Seeds are for more abundant than arrows, and like you said, absolutely no reason to fire arrows.
Personally, once I started treating chasms like the overworld, it became a lot simpler to travel. Because, you know, it basically is just the overworld. It's only scary because it's dark and glowing red.

I really felt that tip about brightbloom seeds. Didn't start throwing them until I was desperate and out of arrows, then it was just like... nearly the exact same result as if I'd shot one attached to an arrow. Had a real moment there. Anyway, I do think there's potentially one use for shooting them anyway: you get bullet-time when using a bow, allowing you to (wastefully) light a wide area by shooting in multiple directions during your descent to figure out what's around you.

  • @DiustheZ
    @DiustheZ Рік тому +1

I highly recommend getting the glide boost armour set, once you get it to level 2 you become immune to all fall damage.
You can shield surf across the gloomy red stuff.
My favourite 'tip' (pun intended) on tough bosses use the 2x or 3x bows and 'fuse' arrow heads on it'll act as 3 bombs for example but only use 1 item and 1 arrow. Great for clearing out boulders underground.
Fusing a sled to your shield for surfing on sand and snow gives you a lot more control. Use the wheel's platform for land surfing!
Instead of attacking tech to activate it or shooting an arrow you can throw an apple or other item at it so you don't waste your durability.
Don't forget to use reverse time skill on projectiles! There's also rocks that fall from the sky you can use as a boost to get up. If you're really stuck you can use the hand ability to hold an item and move it around like a platform then use the reverse time skill and jump on the newly made platform.

On number 5, your zonai vehicles can have a _large_ bright bloom seed shot or dropped onto them and once grown(hit) they will stick and stay indefinitely, moving better light with you than zonai flashlights by like 100 fold.
On number 7, you can combine freeze with water warrior for a 6x multiplier; 9x with attack up level-3 buff. This is a fine use of any random extra Naydra horns (or I suppose Ice Gleeok but those are expensive) if you have a few of them, you can oscillate 3x and 9x damage by mashing only 1 (wet) weapon over and over. Another cringe ice-tip is some spears with the frost emitter can hit at a certain spot (seemingly typically just below max range if it's a valid spear to use it with) to re-freeze _after and on_ the same attack/swing that breaks it. This allows allowing some of the less op weapons to hit constant stuns w/ 3x(no oscillation) damage and no elemental disability windows.

  • @Amoebatirith

Related to weapon fuse mechanics: Royal guard weapons make great lynel smashers. You get a royal guard claymore to bady damaged, fuse your best horn to it and as long as it's badly damaged it does massive damage (you might have to wear it down to badly damaged again after fusion) as they have doubled power when badly damaged. Now, not great for general use, but the aspect of durability not being used while mounted on a lynel still applies so it's your lynel smasher.
    Spoilers:
I have a "Silver-maned Lynel Blade" with 174 attack power. Mix with a 3x attack boost and you're clearing lynels quickly. Royal guard weapons can be found in the higher floors of the Sanctum in Hyrule castle and no, the boss fight will not be triggered going to Hyrule castle immediately. I do not know what triggers final fight so far as I have not finished the game yet, but unlike BOTW, does not seem that you can just walk into the final boss on accident so far. There's a guantlet of 5 lynels in the Coliseum in the depths which is a great place to farm lynels because they respawn every blood moon.
