- The PNWild deer series is following Zack as he chases down his first ever mule deer buck. This trip is the first time any of us have ever chased muley bucks during the November rut. Follow along as Zack and the boys hunt down a mule deer buck in the northern part of Washington in search of a mule deer that peaks Zack’s interest!

Maybe it’s just because I am a new hunter nut the amount of big bucks you guys passed on hurt my soul. I haven’t even seen a buck yet in my hunting career. Loved the video though.

PNWild right on some local wet side guys! Do you guys do much on the west side or keep it all east? I like the home state hunts there's plenty of opportunities but there's something special hunting the west side! It can be very difficult but rewarding!

Sleeper? lol mule deer in this state is terribly managed! the most coveted draw tags in this state rival other western states OTC tags.
Sir Cahoona it’s a north central cascade tag. We look at WA as a bit of a sleeper state as well. We do not have the same opportunities as other states but for those who work hard there are still ample opportunities here!
@@huntnnw You should see the buck Brady Palmer took in a late hunt. I've seen some other toads taken. Not sure how you would manage mulies differently. Limited draw? Oregon does that. Comparing Washington to Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, or Utah isn't really fair, as those states have far more muley habitat , less hunters, and larger herds. How exactly would you improve things?
S Murphy it’s not necessarily the management it is we have close to 8 million people in Washington compared to Idaho 1 million .
I think that would be difficult for any management. Just a thought?

Cedars we put it in the clip because we are aware he flinched pulling the trigger it’s funny but it was his first time ever shooting Jeff’s rifle / new caliber. He’s not a trained sniper man sheesh 😂.

It’s also a half pound trigger pull or something ridiculously light when my rifle is like 3lbs, touched it and it scared the pants off me that first time!!! Hahaha
I am moving to Vancouver, WA in July of next year for the navy. How hard is it to get an elk or deer tag OTC? I have never hunted a western state before and would like to.
No restrictions on getting tags. For deer you must choose a weapon when you buy the tag. Archery, muzzleloader, or modern. For elk, you must choose your type of weapon, but also east side or west side of the state. The hunt here is a permit draw, and likely took 12 to 15 points accumulated at 1 per year. To put in for permit draws, you must buy your licence before the application deadline, usually around end of April or early May, then purchase an application for each type of permit you seek. You get a point for any unsuccessful draw. You can also "ghost" points, selecting that category automatically gets you a point, but ensures you won't get drawn that year...it is like "buying" a point.

It's Winthrop WA. Chewach drainage. Its over-run with coasties during hunting season. If you like hunting pumpkin patches, you'd be in heaven.

Only during general modern deer and elk seasons do you need to wear orange
@@MattyDoingStuff anytime a unit has a modern firearm season going on whether it's general or special permit all hunting parties are required to wear orange.
