When you said warped blade and then started bending it I was like please don't break please don't break, great progress, that handle is going to look gorgeous and the knife is a beast, thanks again Tely!
It just hit me! The second reason (right after quality of your work) why I'm mesmerized watching your videos. You actually taking care of your tools and working place!!! Same does for example japanese master carpenters - I've heard that they often spend more time on taking care of their tools than actually using them. But when ones see their quality of work (joints!)... Stunning! As your videos!
Please be careful with the quenching oils fumes - they are not too healthy I learned. Canola oil does the same thing for me and is not as poisonous. And also congrats to your new equipment, you really geared up since I last watched your videos. Amazing! Thanks for sharing, please keep going and good luck :D
This is my favourite so far. A.because it's a joy to watch. B.i love this knife and the movie it starred in. PS.I'd love to see Tops do a run of these. I think they'd do a good job of this model for the commercial market.
Very glad to see you again, I was waiting for your next video.... you have a great mind to work better and beautiful, keep doing the best always..... Be Blessed
its been 4 months since your last video, wondering when are you uploading your next videos, and here it is, its great to see you do file works in part 1
Having worked a lot with “iron” wood....I can appreciate the difficulty.....looks beautiful when done, but you spend a lot of time wondering, why did I pick this piece....😂
When i quench i let the flash fire go out . pull the blade a look for warp.if the blade is warp i use a soft face mallet to remove it.move fast you only have about 3 min to do this.and then ill pet it back in for a few more min. nice work as always.
So meticulous! In both the knife making and video production, a very respectable level of work ethic. And you even bother to show little details like how you line up the wood blank with square machinists' blocks at 11:06 to get a perfectly alligned hole. Educational and entertaining, thank you very much!
I would like to know how many hours you spent so far on this knife and how many hours video you record to get this 12min episodes. I’m a amateur knife maker my self so it’s interesting for me tho know. Best regards Roberth from Sweden
This might sound like a draft idea. But when you are cutting the hole through the wood for your tang have you thought about putting a router bit in your drill press as a way of removing the excess material?
Beautiful! But i don’t like this new system of uploading parts one at a time. I’d rather wait a little longer to see all the parts at one time. But still love it!!!!
I really the smaller videos, I'm sure it is easier on you. It's like a good series. On TV. You just can't wait to see the next part. Your work is so fantastic
Have you ever heated up the tang of your knives and pressed them down into the handle to fit them? Love the video btw. This knife is huge. You could call that thing a short sword, and I wouldn't argue.
My friend, I’m a big fan of you, tank you for such a great job, I waned to tell you, why don’t you make the Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess Sword? I think you can do It and that will be amazing, excellent day and I send you a hug from Los Cabo’s San Lucas Mexico!
Hey Slavik, do you mind I call you Slavik? What is the Ironwood Burl (the handle you are making)? Ironwood is made of iron, I don't believe that. Regarding drill, I've realized The Wish.com have a carbide drill for sale, is it good to purchase this?
I don't know what kind you are looking at. If I could go back in time I would only buy drill bit sizes that I need and not the whole set. I don't use them all.

I love the way that you work tely , you're so precise and calmed , amazing job
👍Looking forward to the next part.😀

Now that's a knife part 2!
Morning coffee and the craftsmanship of the Tely-myster, good way to start a Saturday.
Cheers
SLAVIK TELY you are the best knife maker, my openian.
The handle is going to look superb, can't wait to see the final fit
Thank you for sharing your videos! They're awesome and a joy to watch!
I love watching these videos
Knife makers show what they can do and each one has their own brand of quality
Which isn't really something to scoff
So precise, I could watch you work all day, great stuff.
Nice having your shop organized, and kept clean between duty..
Your videos are always very enjoyable and inspiring. Your knives are awesome! Such attention to detail and quality!
As soon as i decide to take a day off from work... another tely video.... It keeps on getting better.... :D. Thanks for the video... Love it..
I wish I had days off. I work 6 days a week anywhere from 10-13 hours at my day job and drive 2 hours one way to work.
The dykem Co. should become a sponsor and pay you because you showcase their products so well.
You are the Champ, well done. And need to say that I like your clean shop. 👍💪
Love the new quench tank! Amazing job by Mr Barnhart!

its been 4 months since your last video, wondering when are you uploading your next videos, and here it is, its great to see you do file works in part 1
Hi Slavik Tely, can you please make a smatchet longsword for the next video 😍 I would love to see what you build ❤️ Thanks 😁
It's little bit too much for me at this time to make swords.
@@SLAVIKTELY oh... Ok, well how about a push dagger with an 8 inch blade? I hope you can make it!😁 Please and thank you 😁
Part 3 plz i can't wait
Great new quench tank!
As always an excellent job my friend always goes on like this
Having worked a lot with “iron” wood....I can appreciate the difficulty.....looks beautiful when done, but you spend a lot of time wondering, why did I pick this piece....😂
Yep, after I start making something difficult, I ask myself why.
Slavik you work so well it makes it look easy
Ummm, it's not easy. Lots of hours.
@@SLAVIKTELY I know it's hard, you make it look easy. hahahaha...
Slavik: Alright, I don't want to drill all these holes. Time to use the drill press like a milling machine
Everyone: G E N I U S

You are the first one to mention about the blocks. You have an eye for understanding why I do what I do.
MAAAAN!!! lol Watching you crank on that blade in the vise to fix the warp was hard to watch!! But good job on straightening it!
Very nice can't wait for more. I'm just so happy your back I can't help but cry like a baby not really but very happy to see you sir
you have a quality work system 👍
It will be your second master piece with the tanto kukri.....
Argh! I can't wait to see the handle!
I would like to know how many hours you spent so far on this knife and how many hours video you record to get this 12min episodes. I’m a amateur knife maker my self so it’s interesting for me tho know.

I will make a Q&A video to reply to your question.
So much hand tooling!
We continue to wait for part 3 😭

Slavik hi!work as always on perform well .The guard I would make of duralumin or Melchior for relief however and so well done good luck
Duralumin is too soft. I harden my guards.

Well done bro 🤙🏼
Is this Billy’s chest slice blade or Dutch’s “Stick Around” blade?
Billy's chest slice
your hands are god blessed
Do you make knives full time? If you do, how did you get to that point? how’d you find clients?
It's his hobby, and Instagram n youtube.
He has a day job that's why he rarely post videos but when he did, it's a freakin amazing piece!
StickySubstance indeed
handle guard..
..must be from steel..or it can be from mild steel?
general question...
tnx..
ps....watching it third time this series :-)
It can be from mild steel or what ever you have or want to use.
Espectacular video. Extraordinario artesano.
Is there part 3 for this video? Can't wait for it
Have you ever heated up the tang of your knives and pressed them down into the handle to fit them? Love the video btw. This knife is huge. You could call that thing a short sword, and I wouldn't argue.
I did that on the CSGO bowie.
@@SLAVIKTELY I now have another reason to watch the CSGO bowie video.
It's Billy's knife from "Predator", but I def think it could fit into the sword category as well!!

Merci
Super travail 👍👍
What is the device he uses to mark his edges?
Grizzly Height Gauge
@@SLAVIKTELY awesome and thank you for replying, im a big fan
how to temper a knife without oven?
With a torch
Needs a larger tang to counter that weight in the front.
I see you strayed away from so much filing. I filed a lot in the beginning but my hands can't take it anymore
