They're from the book 'Emperor's Mercy,' I believe. Good book about an Inquisitor in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.

They sound like pretty cool guys. Apart from the blood for the blood god, skulls for the throne thing, I bet they’d be good guys to get along with.
So they are the perfect guard unit - they play well with other race , doesn't hate the emperor or his followers, well trained and are open for all to join compared to the folks in astra militarum they seems great .

They're Tau but how they were originally written. They're as close as you're gonna get in 40k. They're "Balanced" in story terms by being so tiny even the Tau Empire isn't going to the effort to squash them.
They're ABSOLUTELY miniscule in 40k, but that's why I love them. A teeny, tiny little speck of NobleDark (or GrimBright, I suppose) swimming in a sea of GrimDark.
