Dude, you're a really nice guy, and I mean that as a compliment. You couldn't have been any more patient in this ridiculous situation, and I know for a fact I would've ended up arguing and probably cussing out those security guys as soon as they asked for my id. Hearing the way you handled it kind of inspires me to be more patient in daily life But I do think that going through this official route, you've drawn so much extra attention to yourself. I got banned from a casino by an egomaniac floor for questioning in the nicest way possible why they never put my name on the list when I called in. But after playing elsewhere, I ended up going back a few months later and they didn't even remember me.
Banned and told a week and then out of no where it turns into a year and with no warning or notice? Absolutely ridiculous, you are so calm about the situation I have to commend you 😅, I would of went full tilt when I heard it was for a year after all that, I would say keep you head up but you seem to be just fine about the situation 😊, hope all gets figured out and you’re back at the table sooner than later
Casino managers in B.C. might be the worst at running casinos in the entire world. Virtually no comps/freebies, no promotions that the palyers don`t pay for directly, alot of bad/weird rules, etc...
At some of the card rooms in my area they have it posted no recording/pictures. Primarily for the privacy of the patrons. I have not seen them kick/ban anyone, but when a guy pulls out his phone to take a picture of a hand he's told he can't. So my first question is do they have it posted? If they don't and they have never warned you before I see a year ban as way over the top. I'm glad the folks themselves were very professional. Unfortunately, my US dollars are going to avoid places that seem arbitrary in their rulings. I'm in Vancouver 2-3 times a year, for leisure, and was looking forward to spending some more time in a few of the poker rooms up there. I just have a shorter list now. Just make sure you have permission at the other rooms. If it reduces the variety of games, that's ok.
Did they have it posted? Not that I could see. If I saw any clear signage that read no filming, I would respect and comply with the rules of the room. Happy to hear that you love visiting our city! To be honest though I can't fathom why. I love living here but there are certainly better vacation spots than Vancouver =)
Sooo many bannable people sliding through the cracks. It’s a shame to hear but, ur attitude is phenomenal as usual. Leading by example as usual Kevin❤️❤️
Love the videos!! I live in Guilford been in Langley poker room many times! I tried recording my session within 20min they told me to take my phone off the table.. sucks but yaa canada should allow it for promotion purposes
I started playing live poker at local clubs after I saw one featured on a vlog. I hadn't known playing live poker locally was a possibility, until then. I've since spent hundreds of hours playing, something that benefits me as well as the clubs. Anyway, the point is that vlogs are promoting poker, and the rooms where they play. I don't understand why a poker room wouldn't embrace that.
Even though poker vlogging has been a trend for several years now, it's still very new and unfamiliar to some operators. Change is scary. Hopefully in time all operators will see the benefits of free marketing and growing the poker community.
Casinos are a world onto themselves with a level of security that dwarves a bank. That said any business can ban someone from private property for miniscule reasons. It's a slippery slope vlogging at the table. If they don't have posted rules about recording you can either play the risk or ask first. You aren't the first to get hit with this ban hammer. I think the honest mistake you made was one of assumption. We can chat all day about casinos not doing themselves any service with the poker community - growing, advertising their room - but you gotta know the rules beforehand.
CoD- coolguy … it’s great to have stumbled across your channel man. Looking forward to seeing this grow. I miss playing live and seeing your channel makes me want to go back! -leetguy
Well, their privacy policy is posted on their website and you were in clear violation of it. I get the sense that you may have also been too polite to argue your case, but you do you. At the end of the day, people are just playing games and you are not entitled to non-compliance.
Oh I didn't argue, just complied with everything they told me. I also agree with you and would never think that anyone is entitled to any non-compliance.
didn't you know that they didn't allow recording? you should have just used a hidden button cam, pinhole cam, or sunglasses cam😎Gregg doesn't even record in Canadian casinos
I only explicitly knew that recording faces (staff or customers) is not allowed because of privacy issues. I never did that. When I'm told I'm not allowed to do something I always comply and never would do it again.
@@KeevinPokerVlog Were you using your cell phone to record? It says in their House Rules that cell phones are not permitted to be used while a hand is in play. Every casino has their House Rules on their website
To be fair, I am going to give a take from two standpoints... First, imho, I believe Vloggers should always ask first if they are allowed to vlog and their position should be respected regardless of how foolish and antiquated. That said, it is extremely nonsensical for casinos to ban vlogging because they are losing FREE PUBLICITY & MARKETING of their poker room!!! Lastly, I firmly believe that even if vlogging is allowed, players' faces and names should not be recorded and if there is no way not to have someone's face in the shot then it is the responsibility of the vlogger to block their image (unless requested) because people's PRIVACY is always the priority and should be protected !!! Regarding any bans, it should always be preceded by at least one warning otherwise the penalty is too severe and unfair!!!
That’s so stupid. I’ll never understand why they ban vloggers. Makes zero sense. This is the same treatment casino staff gives to card counters. Treat you like a criminal. Ask me how i know. Is there no recourse to get back in?
Sounds like you've had your fair share of run-ins =) For now, my recourse would be to attempt talking to the GM. To do that I have to drive to the casino (45 minutes away - 1.5 hours round trip) and hope to run into him. Even if I'm lucky enough to get a chance to chat, it doesn't necessarily mean the ruling will change as well.
I was thinking it was exactly like a card-counter 86ing. Entourage of suits, “please step away from the table”, “I need to see your ID”, “ok, Mr X, you are banned from this casino. Please cash out and leave”.

Thank government for some if not most of those rules

It’s embarrassing from this casino, I think it’s poorly managed. Keep up the videos! 👍💪

Do you play on bcplaynow?

We need just a building that’s all poker casino where you can film and have a good time
Tbf you should inform them and get permission to film first. Sorry it happened this way

Thanks for tuning in! Both US and Canada has its pros and cons, but let's not go there =)
