Great video! I designed most of what’s in the expansion. One correction: Ixian advanced Karama effect does not let them move the HMS 5 territories. They get to move it 2 during Shipping and Movement phase. Then their forces can be shipped and moved normally. The HMS does not normally move during the Shipping and Movement phase. Hope you do a video for the CHOAM and Richese expansion.
It's a beautiful expansion. Really well done! I actually did not understand it this way but it makes perfect sense. I've fixed it now. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my video and comment. I saw the CHOAM and Richese in BGG but couldn't buy it. Is it out yet? As soon as it comes out I'll definitely do a video.
Hello, I hope you are well. I wanted to ask if you can help me clarify the following as you designed the game :) The rules say "place your Hidden Mobile Stronghold by pointing it at a sector in any non-stronghold territory" My interpretation is the player picks a territory and then can place the stronghold in the sector they choose, that falls under the chosen territory. Is this correct? Thank you in advance and sorry for bothering you but the territory/sector question has come up a lot recently for the basic game and I don't want to give the wrong information.
@@GamesMadeEasy That is correct. You pick a sector, and that's where the stronghold is in that territory. Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing a video on CHOAM and Richese. More Dune will be coming soon!
Brilliant, thank you so much! That's so exciting, can't wait to see what's coming up :) I can't wait to play CHOAM and Richese and will definitely do a video. Thank you for clarifying.
I have a game of Dune coming up next weekend and went looking for a refresher on the rules. I have watched RTFM's video on the base game in the past, but went looking for a video on the expansion and found this video. Fantastic work! High quality, thorough, and without extra frills. Totally earned my subscription!
@@GamesMadeEasy Thanks! I'll be incorporating the CHOAM and Richese expansion as well, which I've not played yet. Doesn't look like you've had a chance to get a video for that one up yet :( I'll be looking forward to referencing it for future games though!
Man I am so glad I was introduced to the Dune board game, this is seriously one of the most interesting and entertaining games I've played in a while. Fun with friends and family alike. Now if only I could stop being so terrible at it!
Thanks for making this, it will be really helpful when I finally get a group together to play this game and I haven’t seen anyone else cover the expansions. I also like your cat (although I think he might be secretly working for house Harkonnen)
You're welcome, I'm glad it was helpful. I hope you can get a group soon :) I think you are right, there aren't many videos on how to play the expansion for the time being. Peter is amazing :) he loves making the videos!
This video is clear, concise with hands on demonstration that makes learning easy. Good work. But it appears you have misinterpreted the rules in regards to the ixians and treachery cards at 8:05. The rules state that you put one card of your choice face down, either on the top or on the bottom of the deck. (Treachery deck). Then shuffle the remaining cards and place them face down for the bidding round The confusion seem to be because you may have miss interpreted the term “deck” in the above rules to refer to the cards drawn for the bidding/Auction. Which is incorrect. while you are reading the rules correctly you hand action shows you placing the chosen ixian card on top of the shuffled auction cards. It should instead be placed on the top or bottom of the Treachery deck. (This is important for the alliance powers of the ixians to work fully and especially when In alliance with the Harkonnen) This also fixes the inconsistency with you saying “place the card at the top or bottom of the deck then shuffle” while you hand does the opposite by shuffling the deck first. Hopefully my explanation will help other people from falling into the same trap . But great video
Thank you so much for your comment and input. Well spotted and much appreciated. I have edited the video but I will also pin a comment. Thank you again.
Thanks for the video! I was just wondering: When you move the hidden mobile base into a sector that has a territory containing spice, can you collect the spice from any territory in the sector?
You're very welcome. From what I understand you need to be in a specific sector and territory - have a look at this link, one of the designers explains how it works: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2457384/can-someone-help-me-understand-hidden-mobile-stron - I hope this helps, enjoy :)
Oh so that's how the hidden base works. I like it, but it's a bit funny how not hidden it is. I feel like its placement is crucial so anyone with a city or Fremen don't just stomp in there with their boosted movement. I'd like to try to house rule some kind of hiding mechanic, maybe by pointing it at the general sector where it's located on the outside of the board and leave the actual location a bit of a game of deduction for your opponents?
Let me know how it goes if you try the house rule, i'd be interested to know. I suppose the hidden aspect is you can't land on it directly :) I completely agree with you, placement is really important.
Hi András, the Tleilaxu start with 20 forces in reserves (off planet); and the Ixians start with 6 forces (3 Cyborgs and 3 Suboids) in the hidden mobile stronghold and the remaining forces in reserves (off planet). I hope this helps. Enjoy the game.
ive only just got the game, thanks for showing how to use the expansion. i see that your army tokens are in small plastic discs, where did you get them from.
Thanks for the video and explanations. Great to learn to play it. In your opinion... are techs token a must in games? I mean... Could we play without them even playing factions of the expansion? Or they are mandatory. Thanks for your videos. :)
What size sleeves do you use for the cards. From what I found out, the cards are 63.5x88 but I've found most options on amazon to be 66x88. If you can help me with this I do, I'd be mucb obliged. Thank you.

The force tokens you use in the video, are they an accessory or did you make them yourself?

Hi.
It was not clear to me where the two factions start the game.
Hi András, the Tleilaxu start with 20 forces in reserves (off planet); and the Ixians start with 6 forces (3 Cyborgs and 3 Suboids) in the hidden mobile stronghold and the remaining forces in reserves (off planet). I hope this helps. Enjoy the game.

when you can use new factions?
You must play with 8 players or could you do it in smaller group?
It’s still a up to 6 player game. You can have a smaller group and just pick these factions. I hope this helps!

Question: If Tleilaxu use the Harkonnen secret Alliance effect, does the Traitor card they keep now count as a Face Dancer or a Traitor?
Answer: Face Dancer.
