Just did research on the amount of Foreign Aid which leaves this country for oversees - £15.4bn last year. Rather than targeting British pensioners to fill the £22bn hole in UK's finances, a year of not paying out FA to the populations of other countries could go a long way to filling that gap. Personally, I know of not one pensioner who could be categorised a "millionaire" while the House of Lords is full of them, including two erstwhile ex PMs, but each of the 800 can claim anything from around £170+ to £390+ DAILY just for signing in. Why not cut their expenses ? As for the "freebies" why on earth is any MP accepting these after taking a basic annual salary of around £92k PLUS expenses. Rayner said it wasn't illegal. Well of course it isn't when the government writes the rules but I'd question the morality. Also, why is the British taxpayer subsidising the meals served in the HofP's cafes and restaurants ? Including alcohol.

The number one problem in our country today is the invasion of our country by millions of mainly military aged Muslim men yet it isn't being treated as such. It's a national emergency and our government is complicit in the degradation of this country by its inability to deal with it. Expecting very elderly and frail people who often live alone to just fill up a booklet to get on the benefits ladder to claim WFA! Why would these proud older people of Britain do that!? Even in its worst days the Conservatives never pulled the rug from under British pensioners simply to feed the swollen climate and foreign aid budgets, and union pay. And it now looks as if the unions, to their credit, want no part of this too. The weather is already turning cold, the days are getting nippy and dark. The number one problem in our country today is the invasion of our country by millions of mainly military aged Muslim men yet it isn't being treated as such. It's a national emergency and our government is complicit in the degradation of this country by its inability to deal with it. We have a navy and standing army so there is no excuse for not dealing with it. Putting our pensioners last is the final straw. 😢

I'm one of those pensioners, just above the threshold. Never claimed a penny from the state.cant afford many things, including TV license. Last year was awful, very cold. I am dreading this winter, as we will have to be even more stringent and our health is deteriorating, worry is taking its toll
It’s an abysmal state of affairs. He’s literally got Carte Blanche to do whatever he wants. I think there’s even worse to come very shortly. Probably the single person council tax allowance next.

Expecting very elderly and frail people who often live alone to just fill up a booklet to get on the benefits ladder to claim WFA! Why would these proud older people of Britain do that!? Even in its worst days the Conservatives never pulled the rug from under British pensioners simply to feed the swollen climate and foreign aid budgets, and union pay. And it now looks as if the unions, to their credit, want no part of this too.
The weather is already turning cold, the days are getting nippy and dark. I cannot imagine the fear older people feel trying to heat freezing flats and houses, worrying what their next bill will look like, whilst Labour not only heat their own homes, but their second homes, and ponce about hiring photographers to capture their 'best' sides, etc.
