Did we miss any other enemies that started out as bosses?

Cool topic. I know of bosses downgraded to regular enemies from the SNES Dragonball z RPG game. For example, the Ginyu force had different colored sprites.
The Kraken from EarthBound
El Gigante - RE4
The Poltergeist from Luigi's Mansion 2/Dark Moon & Crimson Head from Resident Evil 1 (2002)
I'm playing through Metroid Prime for the first time right now and I literally just fought the Sheegoth 30 minutes ago, then loaded up UA-cam to see this.
You can’t really call the Dodongos a downgrade, because as Ocarina of Time has shown us, there are BABY Dodongos. The ones that are bosses are adults.
A better example for Zelda OoT would be the Lizafos & Stalfos. They are introduced as mini-bosses but later are just weaker enemies.
@@mariocooper1996 They’re talking about the whole Zelda series. But yeah, for Ocarina of Time, the Lizalfos and Stalfos were introduced as mini-bosses but became regular enemies. The Dodongos are only encountered in one dungeon as enemies, and again, it is the BABY versions that are the enemies.
@@krvgames9258 Exactly, Zelda 1 alone makes sense unlike OoT cause King Dodongo isn’t the same as the adult & baby Dodongos.
Now do Top 10 Regular Enemies Upgraded To Bosses. Here are some examples:
*Big Green Chu Chu - The Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap
*Giant Goomba - New Super Mario Bros.
*Max Slimer - Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
*Gnawty - Donkey Kong Country
-Than again, all the bosses in DKC (aside from K. Rool himself) are just larger enemies in the first place.
*Metall Daddy - Mega Man 4
Do we count the Big Electric Blue Chu Chu also in the Minish Cap or does he not make the cut since he's a mini-boss?
Funny that the only boss in Donkey Kong Country 1 besides King K. Rool that isn't a giant version of a enemy is Dumb Drum.
A living Oil Drum that spawns a gauntlet of little enemies at the kongs.
The plasma beam is highly effective against the Shegoth due to its high temperature
In SOTN, you can fight Slogra and Gaibon even earlier before you actually have to fight them. Once you enter the Alchemy Laboratory, immediately leave and return to the room where Death took all of your equipment, you can fight them there. However after dealing enough damage Gaibon will pick up Slogra and they will fly away. You don't gain anything from the fight but it can be good practice for the real deal if you play the game for the first time.
Dragonslayer Armour was kinda cool but also pretty disrespectful
Castlevania loves doing this. Lose to the Belmont too much and Lord Dracula will strip you of your boss status and declare you a 'NORMAL-ASS ENEMY!'. Just ask Werewolf, Minotaur, Karasuman, Flying Armor, or even Frankenstein's Monster aka The Creature.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 also have bosses that become normal enemies after the boss with them.
Same with the first game. When you fought shadow Sora in neverland
I’m literally playing through Metroid Prime for the first time, and about a few days ago I fought the Sheegoh. It’s rather funny seeing this pop up a few days later
Doom hunter in Doom eternal
Also those goddamn marauders
Heavy Shank, Dark Blade knights from Destiny and Destiny 2. Heavy Shank and Dark Blade Knight appeared as a bosses in the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. and The Dark Blade strikes in Destiny 1. They now appear as regular enemies, though the Dark blades are mini bosses still, but not the full potential knights.
This is not counting the joke of a dark blade that is Kelgorath. its a long story.
Ok, that beginning was perfect
Any boss in Doom is a regular enemy to doom Slayer
No they are merely food for his appetite for violence.
You forgot to mention the Hell Vanguard from Devil May Cry 3
Onryoki from Nioh. Overly used in both installments as a boss and regular enemy.
Pretty sure you fight one of the rooftop bell gargoyles again from DS1 once you get to Anor Londo.
Lords of the Fallen and Steelrising can cover the whole list.
Elden Ring lol it goes both ways
Both ‘hey this boss will appear again as a regular mob eventually’ AND ‘hey this regular mob now is a boss for some reason but it still dies in three swings’
@@wr5488 I got so tired of that. So tired.
That's part of the God of War formula
At least for the bosses that aren’t giants, and gods.
Many early bosses in Star Wars Jedi Survivor become regular enemies.
The shadows of Yarnham were all over the place in the end game.
The Battlelord from Duke Nukem 3D should've been on the list.
A good example is the monsters in monster hunter as previous boss monsters are reintroduced in newer games
In Ninja Gaiden 2 (for the NES), four of the bosses from the first Ninja Gaiden reappear as generic enemies.
For castlevania aria of sorrow the first 5 bosses become normal enemies 1st is the creaking skull 2nd is the manticore 3rd is the great armor 4th is man eater and 5th and final is big golem
The Marauder and the Doom Slayer Hunter in Doom Eternal. They appear too in the Ancient Gods Part 1 & 2.
Persona 5 did this all the time with its minibosses
I see what you mean, the mini-bosses you fought early on were just strong versions of enemies that you'd encounter in later dungeons.
@@mariocooper1996 Exactly! Like Eligor and Belphegor.
How is the Capra demon optional? Don’t you need to beat him to get the key to the depths? or did I miss something?
I hope they'd HD Remaster the other two Metroid Prime games.
Blade wolf from metal gear rising
Love Doom, but I feel the Cyberdemon was the wrong choice for this list. Even in Doom 2, its appearances still felt pretty bossy, and then the one game where it really was fairly common, it wasn’t actually called a Cyberdemon. I think the Baron of Hell would have been a more apt choice
All the doom enemies
The only video games bosses I've beaten are those based on these franchises / series: Metroid Prime, The Legend of Zelda (you forgot to mention Lynels), Castlevania, every other 1's on this list no; due to no interest in those franchises / series.
The 10 Bosses that were DOWNGRADED.
10. Missionary (Silent Hill 3)
9. Vampire (Final Fantasy series)
8. Sheegoth (Metroid Prime)
7. Cyberdemon (Doom series)
6. Capra Demon (Dark Souls)
5. Ogre (Dragon Age Origins)
4. Tripod (Dead Space 2)
3. Dodongo (Legend of Zelda series)
2. Bloater (Last of Us)
1. Slogra & Gaibon (Castlevania series)
Most of the bosses from Lords of the fallen.
Behemoth from Kingdom Hearts
Isn't behemoth from final fantasy?
@@UziGameGP Behemoth shows up in a number of games including Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Behemoth is a boss in Hollow Bastion then becomes a normal (albeit powerful) enemy in End of the World
Seasons, not Ages.
How about the first nobody that fight in kingdom hearts?
2
Blood-starved beast, witch of hemwick, and the shadows of yharnam are downgraded to enemies in bloodborne.
The shadows of Yharnam are the only ones who become regular enemies.
@@awesauce1 Blood-starved beast can be found in the old hunters dlc and the witch can be found in the chalice dungeons.
BSB is a mini boss in Old Hunters!
And the Witches are different enemies iirc. Completely different movesets if I remember right. No invis/summoning/grabs they’re stationary and shoot out (very powerful) blasts. Unless I’m totally misremembering.
Easy bosses
