I met Bernard Purdie in late '78/79... He was playing some free lance gig in an Oakland restaurant near Jack London Square... there were about 8 people in the room... including me and the rest of the band... sounded okay... but He didn't blow me away... that's Okay Though... He was Bernard Purdie!
