Who are you to tell me what I don't need?! You aren't The Sim Racing Garage!
Lololol
All simracing reviewers tell u about what u don't need it's just that SRG whispers it more 6ily.
Aiologs H-Shifter is what I'm looking forward to!
when? lol
The problem I find with H shifters in sims is that they are a thousand times more difficult to use than in a real car for some reason. In AC my shifts always misshift and I end up in neutral or grinding the gearbox. Something that I have not managed even once in my 25 years of driving h-patterns in real life. I wish they'd just stop with the silly "It's sim so it needs to be difficult herp derp" bullshit and make it work propperly instead.
@@aabe4327 You can reduce debouncing, that should work. Can't say I've had that issue, other than when it's actually me missing the shift.
@@aabe4327 That is an AC thing, not an H-Pattern thing. H-Pattern shifters work perfectly easily in iRacing. I know exactly what you mean though, I have driven a manual gearbox car exclusively my entire adult life, and yet I find it nearly impossible to do it reliably in AC. iRacing has no such problem, I race the Lotus 79 almost exclusively, and the shifting is fine with an H-Pattern.
Why? even NASCAR is going away from the H pattern!
A sequential shifter is more convenient when you are in a rally car with the wheel all over the place drifting. Finding paddle shifters is pretty hard when your steering wheel is all over the place. I tend to like to row my H pattern shifter in Rally cars, but if I go sequential I don't go near the paddle shifters. On a race track I almost always go for the paddles. I'm about to get a blank rally rim without buttons or paddles.
Best option for rallying is a sequential paddle.
@@Phantom5611 feel like not many sim wheels have that option, have you used one? I’d like to try that
@@PhillipNutt ive tried em i honestly prefer the sticks than paddles but that's my opinion
@@Phantom5611 In REAL rally cars, we don't use paddles. We use sequential boxes for the reasons stated above. When your wheel is is flipped, it becomes very hard to figure out which paddle to use to go which direction through the gears. Paddles are fine for DSGs are regular automatics.
@@brnktv Nah a sequential paddle is a paddle mounted close to the steering wheel but not on the steering wheel itself so it doesn’t move when you turn. Sequential stick is fine but modern WRC cars use sequential paddle.
"grip on to your knob, in the heat of the moment...." LOL!
thanks for the review man I was looking at this shifter and this is great! love the channel man keep it up! x
I really love the way this thing feels! Its awesome. Cant wait for them to make an h shifter
Do you know if they have a H shifter in the works?
love your reviews GM
Literally just got this shifter in today, gotta say that the very tactile feel of the spring mechanism as well as the fact that it's completely made of pretty rugged stainless steel and aluminum which is exactly what I was looking for in a shifter that doesn't cost me an absolute fortune, is awesome. On the other hand, I don't have a full racing cockpit or anything yet, so I'm stuck using the desk clamp. The little grub screw the fits the plate the clamp uses to actually clamp itself on wasn't threaded straight, and so that part of the clamp was wobbling, tightened onto my desk and it's perfectly sturdy now. I'm currently searching for any information about whether you can adjust the tension of the spring in the mechanism, because while I love the tactile feel and great build quality, you really have to put some force in to actually get this thing to shift, and that ends up with my table shaking as well as my monitor. It's not unusable or the tension is so high that it negatively impacts your experience, but if you're still relegated to a desk setup for now like I am, I would definitely want to know that. Especially if my desk wasn't as sturdy as it is and I were someone using a cheaper one, where the spring tension may actually negatively impact your experience on those flimsier tables. TLDR: Good build quality, great tactile feel, spring tension might be a bit excessive for people still using a desk, might shake your desk/monitor, wish I had gotten the taller shifter instead of the standard one because I overestimated how big the default shift knob would be. Great value compared to others.
Edit: Should clarify I am mainly using this for playing rally racing games, not Forza or ACC or something less stressful
Are you in the UK? What was the import cost?
I think what sequential shifters need is some sort of haptic feedback or rumble in them. So it sort of clunks when you put it into gear. Sort of like in Raceroom where you'll get a light shake in the wheel when you shift up in certain cars
Would be great. There was a shifter reviewed on SRG that had motorized rotating parts to emulate gear clash, but it was over $1000.
Here's that review - "Pro Sim H Pattern Shifter" - £1195 ($1545)
ua-cam.com/video/Z8FITVWo6m4/v-deo.html
It's a beauty but ouch.
Nice! Loving mine still. I just wish they would make an h-pattern as well.
Knob and shaft? I got one of those meself...
You should use it with the RSS GT cars, tons of fun.
How does the feel compare to Fanatecs seq shifting?
what would you pick? Aiologs Sequential shifter or the ClubSport Shifter SQ that on your setup all ready?
Thanks for review!
aiologs can yo please make an H shifter please
@@mateohs1059 Ok
@@aiologs legends
Just because you said i cant, i am going to get myself one of these.
Did you ever review their handbrake? I don’t see the video.
Thanks!
So what you're saying is that if I buy this product. I'm literally getting the shaft?
as a drifter this sq shifter is perfect i dont want h pattern and want a super good feeling sq and paddles don't work for drifting because I cant tell which is up and down when my wheel is rotating everyehere
I like the weed plant in the background
I own the Heusinkveld shifter. I have not tried the model by Aiologs, although I had their handbrake once. The build quality of the handbrake is amazing, as good as the products by Heusinkveld. However, they can't compared in terms of performance, simply because it's just feels like a hard spring, nothing like a true brake mechanism. As regard the shifter, I'm very happy with the Heusinkveld model. I have seen how the Aiologs shifter works and it looks equally fantastic, maybe a bit with a longer throw. The mechanical sound is nice, but I wouldn't be able to hear it with my headphones, so it's not something to consider in my case. On the other hand, the bent shaft provided with the Heusinkveld model is a very important advantage in my opinion. Once you try it, you can't go back to a straight lever. It just feels more ergonomic. Together with a cylindrical Mugen knob made of aluminum, it feels amazing. Finally, it's true that the Aiologs shifter is less expensive, but you cannot forget customs if you live in Europe. I had to pay extra 80€ to rescue my Aiologs handbrake. The process took several months and a lot of hassle, sending docs and exchanging many e-mails, also because Paypal got my money and never completed the payment. I even had my Paypal account temporally disabled. They considered that ordering something to Russia was illegal. I can't put the blame on this to Ailogs, but it's something to bear in mind.
I just upgraded from the Heusinkveld to the Aiologs and I have to say it is a night and day difference. The aiologs feels like you definitely just changed a real gear, the heusinkveld felt great for a while but now that I got the aiologs it just feels like a toy. Although, aiologs is much louder, so if that's a concern then definitely stick to the heusinkveld. I believe micro center sells the heusinkveld open box for around $130 which you can't really beat for the price
Rallycross and WRC2 cars use this type of shifter
Looks a nice piece of kit. Just when you think you have everything you need...
@ 5:26 Im glad you mentioned that...
so no brake on it?
OH NO! Gamermuscle has been injected with the infamous "IGN 8.5 out of 10 review scores" syndrome. :-P
Great review there James. It's a pitty about the location of the USB port. But, visually and mechanically, looks like an excellent alternative to the Fanatec shifter (if you're looking specifically for a sequential shifter).
Fantastic shifter one of the best out love the incompetent joke haha this is def the shifter I want
Yo i wlove th vid but i cant watch it theres a really high frequency ring in the background that hurts my ears. 😩😩
"that would just be incompetent"; that camera zoom kills me every time I see it :)
Ukrainian from ... Saint Petersburg, well done mate :)
Great video, just found your channel for the first time through this. Is the way you wear your headset equal to like 'street kids' wearing their hat tilted? lol
I had one. It was great but suffered massively from EMI issues - it was forever changing gear by itself.
Aiologs, Im happy to accept a free one to try again.... might as well thrown in a handbrake too. Cheers
Write me on email, we will fix that
@@aiologs Done :)
@@aiologs Your shifter and handbrake are the most beautiful I seen yet and the sound on the shifter is very sexy.
Excellent work it just screams quality through my monitor, bravo! *Golf Applause*
How do I mount these the best and do you have package deals when buying both units?
ooooh, gloves, a shiny knob with with up and down motion.... what is there not to like :D
question...what happen to the simucube?
Still have it
@@GamerMuscleVideos nice
but if i dont need it what do i need for a sequential shifter
rally, drifting and any racing that require crazy amounts of wheel rotation
I ended up buying a Sega Arcade shifter for $30 and I'm going to make a box for it and wire it to a Teensy 3.2. Should cost me about $50 all together. Figure it's better than paddles.
Just a warning, shipping comes from Russia post and takes weeks to arrive.
My favorite is jinks shifter so far....
Was looking at the Fanatec Shifter because I race the MX-5 and then the V8 Supercars with their sequential stick shift, but this is just (insert drool emoji here)
Glengettie tea is the best tea if you have not tried it you need too.
Going to be getting one of these for myself, disappointing they do not come with tea.
21:9.. Nice👌😊
I NEEEEEEEEEED IIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT
This is the future. Medieval murder tools with usb port!
its great for rally games , I slam on that thing
Yorkshire tea best tea
Meh, still prefer my Fanatec Shifter, that can swith from H-Shifter to Seq-Shiter in 5s so I don't need 2 devices.
I think the throw of the fanatec is a little better too. I like a longer throw for sequential personally, if it had the engagement of the aiologs one it'd be perfect.
You do need it and you should buy one cause that thing is the sh*t.
What kind of monster ruins perfectly good tea with milk?
But then the TH8A can do both h pattern AND sequential. I use both configs and both are excellent
Also cheap quality lol and has no feeling of a real car
The TH8A can do both, but it is good at none of them.
Hay hay hay .... I don't need one... But how about two?
clicked the like button what is my reward
Thousand years of death

More GM
Need more reference material. Ukrainian Supermodel?
I just watched a 10 minute video about a knob. Perhaps I should indeed question my life choices.
Hang on. Haven't I seen this video before?
Nowt wrong with Yorkshire tea!
The gear shaft is too small yes so just get yourself a nice piece of threaded ( to size ) piece of stainless steel pipe and you can have the shaft as long as you want. Like viagra for a sequential shifter.
How ironic GM, that you say in this video - that your not a sequential guy?
And yet I'm guessing you hope that all us subs are all sequential viewers - watching each & every GM video one after the other, after the other...
AND WHY WOULDN'T WE, HE SAYS QUIETLY TO HIMSELF ; )))))))))))))))
Twinings Represent
Seems like the Fanatec Clubsport Shifter is a better buy, unless you absolutely must have the smaller size of this. Being able to flick a switch and toggle between full H-pattern mode and sequential mode is awesome and it's less money than this one.
@@WhiteHawk77 Fair points, although I've had my Fanatec shifter for almost 2 years and never had a problem with it activating wrong gears.
I have the handbrake. Great feel and excellent for smiting your enemies.
I'm debating on getting the handbrake (not Interested In the shifter since my fanatec has both h and sequential mode)
well my wife likes it....no idea why......didn't click the like button....but my wife did.....
Stop reading the comments and look where you're going. And Yorkshire tea. :)
I am sitting so...
You don't need any gear, tho ... had a friend that swore on playing racing sims on keyboard. He committed suicide ... might be related.
Anyways. I have the one from Thrustmaster which is sequential as well (you change the top plate with a few screws) as analog / H. I never _needed_ it. Any sim works fine without, and it might even give me a disadvantage.
But it feels good and immersive to use it.
And while this is even more expensive and therefore even less justifiable ... (and I never will buy it) ... man this thing is just tech porn.
wassup wi Yorkshire tea like??
Bad
i dont understand the thumbnail then.
You don’t need it but it’s cool
GM : Reviews hardware from Russia, refers to it as the 'Ukrainian Supermodel of sequential shifters'.
Minus 95 points for geopolitical awareness.
Look at this as a polite way to admit that is a part of a Russia. I appreciate that.
Your not a real sim drive if you don't drink Yorkshire tea Lad
you complain about the price? really??
I mean you don't really need any of that gear either just use a $20 joystick lol
Yeah the Aiologs is cheap... But the shift ALSO feels cheap, way too light, and almost no tactile feel... I personally would not pay new prices.. Maybe second hand prices.
