- EU4 Judaism or EU4 Jewish is one of the rarest religions in EU4. At game start, it's almost impossible to play as an EU4 Jewish Nation - a real EU4 challenge. EU4 Ethiopia is the starting nation though EU4 Beta Israel or EU4 Semien can be used for this.. if you're quick enough. I've not seen any EU4 Guides on EU4 israel or judaism, but it's not too tricky... try it for yourself!

Wish paradox would do more with Judaism than they have, but obviously the fact that the game for simplicitys sake does not significantly recognise the presence of religious and cultural minorities somewhat limits the ability to work the religion. But I still feel like something like the Messianic craze in the 1520s among conversios at least should be recognised somehow, as well as Shabbatai Zvi maybe triggering as a disaster or similar causing Jewish Zealots to rise up in the Balkans, or something. some positive events for the Commonwealth related to the Jewish migration there during the pogroms and violence of the Reformation. A recognition that, small a minority as Jews have always been, there have been a few times during the middle ages where they really mattered. I feel like if they can give a whole fucking mission and event tree to stupid Viking larpers, they could at least acknowledge the very real presence and impact of Judaism.

jewish is way better than laith is making it out to be because every single one of the aspects have a secondary effect that is very strong, the dev cost aspect gives 35 relations with every muslim and christian country, the unrest one gives you stability every time you celebrate the festival (can be swapped for either reform progress or a ton of money), the reduced infantry cost one gives manpower recovery speed while at war, doubled in a defensive war
pretty sure infantry cost also reduces the maintenance cost aswell. like if your infantry costs less the %of said cost that later becomes maintenance cost would be lower no?

Besides the mutapa achievement I think ottomans can get an event converting one of their Provences to Jewish so technically you could have Jewish ottomans

12:20 - there is an achievement to become Jewish and do "Celebrate Festival" as Mutapa. In my experience, the Ethiopia AI doesn't manage to convert those provinces for like 20-30 years.
Also, there's a rare event that can make the Selanik province Jewish.

Well, in my last Naples run I swapped to Protestant because the Pope was a dick who kept excommunicating me, and then after I conquered Tunisia I swapped to Ibadi for the production increase and let me tell you, Ibadi Italy is BEYOND OP.
here's a question: if you conquer a province from a nation that produces slaves, did you enslave the previous slaveowners and increased the number of slaves, or did you just kick them out, putting the slaving business under new management?
I suggested in a previous video, that if Laith tried forming Israel in EU4, that he do so while snorting matzo meal. That he has not taken this suggestion on-board, I find deeply disrespectful of my religion.
Also, I'm writing this on a computer on Shabbat, so take that fact into account.

I am so glad that you managed to find the Torah aspect celebration bonuses. I always hate when youtubers who play as a jewish nation refuse to read what the aspects do and then assume the religion is bad because they didn't actually know what the religion does. The Jewish faith is such a strong religion in the game.

Actually you can convert to Jewish as other nations. The AI will always take the option to keep the provinces as Jewish and -100% missionary strength for 20 or so years. You are basically on a timer to get those provinces. Its doable as Mutapa for the Hanukkah Mutapa achievement.

Also funny story about the name Ahmad, I play an online DnD campaign with some "friends" and one of them named their character Ahmad, I could not make it to the voice chat in most situations since my PC is so shit it just dies if I enter a VC, so for like a solid half of the campaign I pronounced Ahmad with a silent H until I had the idea to use my phone, at which point I learned the proper pronounciation and was thoroughly beffudled and amused

It's not easy to do, but there is an achievement where you have to start as Mutapa, become Jewish, and hold a festival. Ethiopia's ai always chooses the tolerance option (100% ai weight choice), which prevents conversion for 25 years after being selected. This basically means you have to conquer to Ethiopia as Mutapa within 25 years. And that's actually the easy part. The hard part is actually converting to Jewish and holding on without collapsing, as if you convert to Jewish before your gold mines are converted, your economy will implode. Though if the gold mines are converted before you convert, your economy will hurt, cuz there's like a -80% production malus for wrong religion

There's a really rare event which turns the province of Thessaloniki Jewish, so it's possible to spawn a Jewish revolt from there.
If it makes you feel any better the slave producing provinces are suppose to be slave markets where slaves are brought from elsewhere (like the interior of Africa from raids or bought) to be sold, no slave breeding involved. Though that sort of thing did unfortunately happen in some places.

I'm a Turkish guy who can read Koran so able to pronounce the Arabic letters. What I have encountered is pronouncing (ع), (ح), and (ض) is particularly hard for the Turkish speakers as well. So any other European native speaker would likely butcher the pronouncing. So I clearly understand what Laith was talking about the pronounciation of Arabic names.

I like to play with Semien against coptic ethiopia and muslim neighbours. Its a INSANE start, but it is so good to see your country grown against all the possibilities.
The easiest way to form Israel is to start as Mamluks. They added a hardlock to prevent mamluks from forming israel but if you change culture to Yemeni or Tunisian and form that first, you can then go israel right after.
Fun fact, Polish people will have no problem pronouncing Ahmed correctly because that h sound is used so often in the Polish language.
