Hah, we haven't really changed our style... just upgraded some equipment along the way. We always say, we are who we are, ha ha... haven't changed a bit!! :P
Oh fun, yes the good ol' iPhone vlogs, haaah... still some good times though. :D And that's awesome! Glad to have him along for the adventures as well... woohoo!!
I'm catching up to all the ParoDeeJay fun-ness! That Cat's Lounge Karaoke Bar sure has some interesting decor! I like it! You win ALL the trophies...impressive. Dee is cute with trying to figure out that "Rock on" hand signal!
Binge watching your videos again as it is my only way to support you both. Praying your drive home is uneventful today and recovery is swift. And can I say that Cats Lounge Karaoke Bar is super weird lol.
Fun videos. Fantasy was our first cruise back in 2013. Since then we have been on Triumph, Breeze, Vista and Valor. Next will be Freedom for my Birthday in October. You say in the video; once you try one cruise, you are hooked. True! :)
Heck yeah, it's definitely addictive, ha ha... our next up will be the Valor and Glory in September, both new ships for us even though we've sailed a couple of the sister ships in the same class. Love it!! :D
Ah! 8 years ago and you guys were so cute! Decided to watch some oldies as I am a fairly new follower and am curious about your early days. My favorite was when you had your faces squished together up close! I've never sailed on Fantasy. Looked like nice ship. Loved Cat's Lounge Karaoke Bar! Wonder if any other ships have that?
Our next cruise is on the Anthem of the Seas, the second time we will cruise on her. Our last Carnival cruise was on the Vista in December of 2017 out of Miami. Sadly, due to the treatment we received by other cruisers, I have sworn off Carnival for the time being. Maybe some day we will return, but the treatment was so bad I said NEVER again.
We’re they using the cottage cheese as a garnish? Did it have caviar in it? Gold? Any reason they gave you about a teaspoon of it? That fruit on your plate probably cost more than a pound of cottage cheese.l
I decided to watch the entire cruise vlog history and as a historian, non-professional, but degreed, I decided to begin at the oldest vlog I could find. My question is, to date, August 6, 2019, how many cruises have you done? My wife and I have done a total of 26 on various cruise lines, but mostly on Royal.
Yes indeed, you have located our oldest cruise vlog, ha ha... we have one "vacation" vlog that's older, but that was a quick land trip. As of right now, we've done 26 Carnival and 1 Royal, with 15 more booked between now and February 2021... those are slated to be 9 Carnival, 3 Royal, 2 Norwegian, and 1 Celebrity. Whoop whoop!! :D
All the cruise vids, yes. Mostly an old iPhone 5 that I don't use for anything but vlogging. The underwater camera is a Fujifilm something-or-other, can't remember the model number, ha ha. We have a nice little Canon Vixia that we use for home vlogging and the music videos and things, but it's so much more convenient just to pop the iPhone in my pocket on a cruise.
I plan to use my iphone5 for our upcoming cruise, wish me luck!! I might hit you up on what your using to edit your videos, all new to us but we love the idea of preserving our adventures!! You guys do an AMAZING job with yours!
Nice!! Yes, I've found that if I try to slow down my walking, or stop for a quick steady shot, I get good results. Too dark, or too much quick motion, and it's a little iffy. For editing I use Sony Vegas Pro 13, which can be had for maybe $400 at various places around the interwebz. I'm sure there are plenty of less expensive video editors out there, and even some freebies that do a nice job too, but I haven't really messed around with many programs besides Vegas Pro. It can be complicated to get into, but it does just about everything, hah. Heck, I'm sure most computers already have something semi-decent on them like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie or something like that for free, so you may not have to get into purchasing any fancy software. Have fun capturing your memories!! :D
Hello Dee and Jay I love your vids and me and my husband are trying to cruise end of March with Carnival for the first time. Could you recommend who to book with and get really good prices .It will be me ,hubby my son and his best friend. You two make it look so easy and really have a lot of fun of what you make it. It looks like you don't have to spend a dime just relax eat and enjoy.Help us have a great experience.Im so excited to have this oppourtunity.
+Ronnae Smith These days, we normally book directly through Carnival about a year ahead of time, and get an "early saver" rate, which is about the lowest you can find. Our very first cruise, we found a good deal by browsing the cruise section on eBay! I've also heard of people having luck contacting Carnival last-minute, about 2-3 weeks before a sail date, when they start trying to scramble to sell any empty cabins. We've never tried the last-minute method personally, but some people catch great deals! But yes, once you're onboard, most everything other than soda, alcohol, and gratuty is included, and you can just relax the days away!! :)
Thanks, Jay I want to go so bad that Im going to shoot for a last minute deal. You two look so great and happy together,I could feel the love just like me and my husband.I think if you make your own little schedule upvwith a bunch simple fun things we will have a nice inexpensive time.lol Im lookin forward to a wonderful cruise. Thanks again and happy sailing in the future.
You guys are so fun to watch! :) I would love to befriend you on a cruise! Cruising out of Galveston, TX in a few weeks to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel!
+Morgan Johns Awesome, thanks so much for watching our craziness! Hope you have a blast on your cruise... we've done Ocho Rios in Jamaica, and Grand Cayman in the past, such fun! We have another cruise coming in December and will be putting out another set of videos, ha ha... :D
All of our travel vlogging so far has actually been on an old iPhone 5 that I had hanging around with no other use! It works surprisingly well and fits in my pocket, so I've stuck with it. And the selfie modes are just done at arm's length, ha ha... :D
The actual cruise I believe was $429 per person, plus taxes and fees and randomness. We usually book about a year in advance and get the "early saver" rates. We also like to book our next cruise while still onboard a Carnival ship because you get extra cabin credit for the future sailing that way. The hotel parking package was about $200 plus tax for one night's lodging, but by the time you figure you'd have to pay $17 per day for 7 or 8 days to park at the cruise port, it's worth the extra for us to enjoy a leisurely morning, free breakfast, free shuttle, free parking, and the shuttle gets to skip ahead of the long line of cars of the folks who chose to drive themselves to the port. Love it! :D
The Carnival Victory was the first ship into Amber Cove on October 6, 2015 and that was the official opening of the port. The Carnival Fantasy took us there on October 15th as the second ship to visit. Good times! :D
+Carolyn Gardner We do get calls sometimes from Carnival saying that we can upgrade our room for an additional fee, but we usually pass. Most times, we've picked our room in a specific area for whatever reason, and wouldn't want to change unless it was an awesome deal. We've just come off our 10th cruise with Carnival, and I don't think we've ever been offered any kind of free upgrade, though that would be amazing! :)
+Darnell Tabor Thanks so much for checking us out! Just got back from another trip and should have some more fun coming maybe this week... however soon I can find the time to start editing more videos! :D
Hi so I went looking for your first vlog I just started my UA-cam page and I've never done this social media and all this stuff but I'm just studying from you guys and youtubing how did UA-cam do you have any advice I'm using inShot and a Adobe premiere rush because I have a Motorola one 5G AceI do not have a laptop just my phone also I have four videos up already and I live all the way in Illinois so I'm not going to be able to get out a lot to go to cruises so I'm only going to do this when I do go to my cruise and then come home and do this editing do you think you'll be okay if I do a video or upload a video every other week I have a cruise on the 17th of April and then a two week and September so I got to stretch this sorry for this long text I just know that like I really like you guys humor and I was hoping you would help a newbie out once again I'm just doing this this is entertainment for me and I have a full-time job

I love that this vlog has the same format as your current blogs 5 years later!
Hah, we haven't really changed our style... just upgraded some equipment along the way. We always say, we are who we are, ha ha... haven't changed a bit!! :P
I love watching y’all guys in 2023 so I had to see the beginnings. Love the growth. 🤘🏾
I started the vlogs back from Day 1. Let’s do it again! ROCK ON!
Going back to catch up on older vlogs….and loving them!
Catching up with your older cruise videos.. and you have another fan lol my husband was watching your videos this past weekend.. 👍🏼
Oh fun, yes the good ol' iPhone vlogs, haaah... still some good times though. :D And that's awesome! Glad to have him along for the adventures as well... woohoo!!

That said, I still cruise vicariously with the two of you and Ricky and Laura.
Watching older vlogs and noticed you were gold status already. When did y’all start cruising?
When we started in 2005, there was no red level. You were gold from your second cruise and we were grandfathered in. :D
Here I am, starting over at the beginning !
Oh hey, you found it! The very first cruise vlog... whoop whoop!! :D
Can't wait for my cruise this year!
Alright for some odd reason I haven't seen this series. Well here we go awesome video number 1!
Whoop whoop! We only have three series so far, hah. Yay, that's the first one we ever tried to vlog, from October 2015. :D
Yes, and you are all so different, young and newbie-like. I just finished your February 2019 Ectasy...and so different, good different.

@@parodeejay we have done one Norwegian years ago and several Celebrity. In my humble opinion, the best food I've had on a cruise was on Celebrity.
Love this vlog!! Thank you!!❤️
+Kaylee Lovesy Thanks so much for watching!! :)
+ParoDeeJay 😊😊
I love them too Rock on
Loved your video!!
Thanks so much for watching our crazy adventures!! :D
Hey Jay!, do you use your phone for all of the videos?
All the cruise vids, yes. Mostly an old iPhone 5 that I don't use for anything but vlogging. The underwater camera is a Fujifilm something-or-other, can't remember the model number, ha ha. that's hard to believe when your were able to do a 280 turn without you moving- teach me I'd like to know how to do that
The ice cream technique tho 👌
Ice cream game is strong!! :D
Where do y’all live?
We're just south of Va Beach, pretty close to the port of Norfolk, but not that much sails out of here anymore... dang!!
How much was it for the cruise package

what was the first ship to visit Amber Cove?

If you been on Carnival before, where didn't Carnival give you an upgrade to a balcony room.

Well, goodbye to the Fantasy.
Yeeeeeah, we were hoping to eventually sail her again with the better camera, but that doesn't seem to be a possibility now. Boo!!
And it doesn't look like you will be making it on the Inspiration.
I wish I was there I know a lot of Harry Potter stuff

Really enjoying these so far. My husband and I just returned from our cruise. Check out our vlogs
