We're sailing out of New Orleans on a double cruise adventure! First up, we're spending five days aboard the Carnival Valor headed to Cozumel and Progreso (Yucatan) in Mexico. We sailed from September 23-28, 2019 on this first leg of our grand back-to-back cruising adventures!

I like your videos. Something to to think about though. I never see anything about the smaller musical acts that perform 3 or 4 times a day, for 6 months at a time. The solo or duo acts. These kids give their heart and soul for the passengers, but never get any attention from you, or most cruise critics. Food?? Plenty of THAT! Give the little acts some attention please!
We do try to stop in and participate with them when we can, but it does usually end up being the string group or the steel drum player that always catches my ear personally, hah. I do love a good rock band or acoustic duo though!!

Which parking garage did yall use? We usually go out of Galveston, but trying NOLA next month
We rode in with our travelmates but they parked in the Erato Street garage, I believe. It was connected to the terminal.
I wore my Royal Blue ParoDeeJay shirt to Best Buy once and someone thought I was an employee and started asking me questions about cameras 🤣

Not officially... we checked with some of the other folks in the group and their menu still said 10pm. Then when we got on the Glory, ours said 10pm. Sooooo... I'm not sure what was up with that, ha ha... maybe they accidentally gave us an incorrect future version that hopefully doesn't signify that some sort of change is coming!! :O

That ship looks very nice! I just LOVE the variety of the decor, with the eagle area and the banana skirt-wearing statues. I feel like I'm right there with you! And your jokes never grow old...love them! :)

That's awesome! We enjoyed the Valor, and once you figure out that you have to jump to Deck 5 to get from the back to the front, life becomes a lot easier, hah... Hope you have a great cruise and fun planning!! :D

Valor is the ship James Michael Grimes fell off in Nov 2022 he survived by treading water for 20hours and was miraculously found!

Hi guys l'm going on the valor ln July. And I can't wait thank you for the tour 😅
What you REALLY need to know: Pros- Red Frog Pub is great and chill, casino is great, food is good, Serenity Deck is a good spot, Cozumel is great, live bands on the ship are very good. Cons- all the cake, fried food, cookies and burgers creates a smell that eventually makes you sick by day 3, Progresso is a dump (do not disembark with your purse) The Valor pools are tiny, there are 500 people in every hot tub on the ship, and when the cruise is over, you will be in line with thousands of people sitting on floors because they make you get the fuck off the boat ASAP.
We sailed on that ship back in August 2016 on a 5-day Bahamas cruise. Still one of our favorite cruise ships! I did a 1/2 dozen videos of that cruise. It was my 1st encounter with the Twilight Zone frozen cocktail boat drink! I do remember a LOT of Eagle statues around the ship too! Enjoyed your video. Nice to see this ship again!

The cabins , always warm on turnaround days
True... ours stayed pretty warm the entire cruise, but hey... we rarely cruise in September, and it's definitely warmer outside then when we normally sail in like December/January, ha ha... can't be too mad!! :P

I'm wondering if the knob needs to be turned counter clockwise to get the room colder. It didn't move anymore clockwise so that's what I'm thinking.
We found out later in the cruise that our section had an a/c unit that had failed, which they were going to be working on. So I guess whatever units were still working were trying to work hard, hah...
Enjoying the ship tour and the cheesy jokes, then I suddenly hear “Future cruise desk abandoned” and that just didn’t compute. I mean, I thought ALL cruise lines do that? So odd....
Carnival used to have a nice future cruise program, but they gutted it somewhere around late 2016. Now you get the same offer online for two or three weeks that you would've received onboard, but there are some other perks that they discontinued completely.
I was thinking the vlogs were coming out next week, so glad I was wrong! We leave on Saturday on the Sunshine for b2b for my 60th birthday , so I’ll have to get caught up when we get back. Glad to see the Valor, she was my 1st Carnival Cruise many moons ago. The Glory was my 2nd. See y’all in December.

We just got off the Sharon at sea group cruise Saturday, my very first cruise and after a few hours on board, we were upgraded from a balcony cabin to a grand suite 😀

My Hubby always vlogs the casinos, We asked and they said it was ok....
I think the general rule is photo/video is fine when the casino is closed, but not when it's open. They had signs on the Valor stating no photography. Meh. :P

Looks like that ship needs a makeover !
It got a few of the upgrades and whatnot, but I'm not sure when. We love the "classic" decor of the older ship, which some would say is tacky, ha ha... but we enjoy that personality. The decor scheme on the Valor was a little muddled and all over the place, but ehhh... :P
I love the decor of these style ships. Hero's and Heroics following in the literature theme. AWESOME

Did the hairdryer come in the room?
Yep, there's a hairdryer plugged into an outlet in the drawer, but Dee usually brings her own. The ones on the ship usually require you to hold the button down the whole time you're using them, and they're not very high power. She has a travel one that she likes better, but you can definitely save the suitcase space and use the one provided.
