We cruised on the Sunshine back in July 2022. It's an older ship. You can see the singns that it's older. But overall it was clean and the rooms were good. Everyone is always excited to get on the ship as early as they can. I will offer this advice. We got on the ship about an hour before the cabins were made available. If we had to do it over again, we would get there a little later and try to get onboard after the cabins are opened. Why? First because it's not a huge cruise ship. Since you can't go into the cabins or the hallways of the cabins until they open them. Everyone congregates into the eating areas. There was no where to sit, it was almost impossible to find a table to sit at. Even on the pool decks and all around there was people everywhere. And since everyone is walking around in the same areas, it was so freakin hot. Like uncomfortably hot. But as soon as the announcement that the cabins were open was made, wow, what a difference. The eating areas emptied out and it was a lot more comfortable. Maybe this was a rookie cruise mistake by us. But unless you want to squeeze every last free meal out of your cruise, my advice, have a nice breakfast and try to get on board close to cabins being opened. So what if you miss the first lunch. I think an extra burger or a hot dog is not going make or break you.
My husband and I are sailing Oct 15 on the Sunshine. It's his very first cruise!! CAN'T WAIT!! I surprised him with a Balcony room too so he can view EVERYTHING!!
