Erica is awesome I need some help and she got right back to me , She is one of the few people ot make good tutrials . she talks slow enought for me to understand her and showes each step clearly. Thank you Erica for all you work.
Hey there Ms. Erica!!! love love LOVE this project! Just wanted to share that when I've made your other little cases, I actually used vinyl from a bedsheet set packaging. For this one, I will likely do the same. Also, I have some fridge magnets that I received from local pizzerias and such and I will likely use them for the magnetic strip. During the pandemic, I've been doing quite a bit of "domestic sourcing" which is basically just using what I have lying around the house! Hugs!!!
I'm not sure, I just go slow and my Juki seems to handle it without sticking to the vinyl. But I have seen people use a Teflon foot, and I've also seen them put a piece of tape on the bottom of their foot to keep it from sticking as well.
Just wanted to say thank you, thank you. I was finally able to see the zipper onto the Bible cover I’m making for my grandson. It took me about a whole week looking through all kind of videos, the problem is that most zippered book covers the zipper is wider than the standard zipper. I added 1 inch fabric because the Bible is 2 1/2 inches thick. You are the only person that has a tutorial on how to sew the zipper. Thank you so very much.
Just wanted to share that I made my own case for my cross stitch supplies. I love it! I made a glasses pocket instead of a scissors pocket, and I made all of the vinyl pockets with zippers instead of open pockets. Thanks for the great video! I'm excited to make another one.
Soooo cute!! I love that you let your floof “help” you. 😻 My Maynard always wanted to be with me when I sewed. He crossed the rainbow bridge a month ago. I miss his “supervision” while I create.
Hi Erica! I wanted to tell you something I learned on a Floss Tube channel. Take a piece of iron-on interfacing and cut it the size you want the pieced side of the bag to be and lay the interfacing with the sticky side up. Lay your 2 1/2” squares right side up on the interfacing with the edges touching and arrange them the way you want them to look, then iron the squares to the interfacing. Now you can just fold the interfacing over along the bottom edges of the top strip of squares (horizontally) and sew a 1/4” seam the length of the strip. Repeat for the other strips. Now fold the strips vertically and sew the vertical rows together. When you are done, the points meet precisely and you only need to sew a few rows instead of piecing all the little squares together. It saves a ton of time and looks awesome!!! 😁 If I didn’t make sense or you have a question, let me know and I will clarify.
@@erica_arndt if you want to see a tutorial, watch Nicola at Bumble Stitches Floss Tube. If you just actually do what I described, I think you will figure it out. It was life changing for me not to have to sew all the little squares together. I have a bunch of mini charm packs that I make bags out of and it was taking so long to piece them all together, so it made a big difference to me. Good luck! You have excellent videos and I love to watch you and make your projects!!!
@@lovelyday2805 Yes, but the tensisters easy piecing grid allows a little extra room around each fabric piece to make folding even easier. Carmen Geddes (of tensisters) has visited the quilt shop where I work and I was so impressed with her products (and her personality).
Amazing as always Erica. I love this and I think I'll add a second page with a zippered vinyl pencils/pens pocket and another pocket for a pattern and/or paper or extra cardstock. What fun. Maybe a big one for a retreat and those items, including fabric to go and a small cutting mat, ironing pad, scissors, rulers, pins...etc. The ideas are flowing for sure. Maybe even a shoulder strap incase I need my hands for other things. Oh what fun to create.... You truly are an inspiration... Stay safe... Barb
Barbara, do you know how to make a 2nd page? I want to do that! Mine will be for thread and bobbins. I guess if I make it big enough, I won't need extra pages...
I love your kitty, need to see more. So well behaved. Love to watch your channel, u explain everything so good. Easy to follow along. I will keep watching and subscribe. Say hi to the kitty for me, what a cutie...
I love the versatility of this bag and your fabric colors are right up my alley!! My mom and grandma used to sew with vinyl before I learned to sew and I’ve never tried it before. I always thought it would be difficult. But now I see that it isn’t! Wonderful tutorial!!
Thank you for your generosity for sharing the exact details on how to make this beautiful and very functional carry case. You could have easily just previewed this and sold as a pattern with instructions. Also, I know you have homeschooled your children for years, but I must say, you very clear and well-spoken and amazing at getting through to us older "students" with some hearing loss. It is all very much appreciated.
Just finished this project. I changed the front, I did strips in a diagonal and then cut down to a rectangle. I will say that the binding was nearly impossible for me to machine stitch. I had such a hard time, even using my smallest presser foot to keep the binding lined up, especially in the corners. I think I’ll rip the seam out and just hand bind it. Absolutely love how it turned out. It’s such a sturdy and beautiful little case.
Thanks again Erica for another fun project. The instructions are very easy to understand, and the outtakes make me smile. 😊 And as always, Jax is so cute.
If I wasn't a quilter I would still watch your video's because Jax is so entertaining. He wanted to be on camera even if it was only his paws. So funny, thanks keep them coming.
I’ve been looking for a Bible cover pattern that I like for what seems like forever. With just a tiny bit of modification, this will be PERFECT!!! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to make both! ❤️❤️
I don't know what I look forward to more, the tutorial or the bloopers at the end! I love the binding seam! Just made the divide and contour bag from Byannie and that would have been great to do the binding instead of the quilting way. (which I used and wish I would have saw this sooner ugh)
I love, love, love your style of teaching. I have enjoyed learning with you. And your designs and methods are fantastic. This is yet another project I have on my list of projects to do. Thank you so much!
You have inspired me...I've been thinking about a bag like this for a Christmas gift this year....I can't wait to start it...Thank you for your talent.
I love this bag! In fact I loved it so much that I bought the pattern for a friend as well as for me. I loved having the written pattern as well as the video. My friend made hers 25% larger and it is great. The size in the pattern is perfect for my needs. I am using it at home but will take it on trips also. I am doing simple modern embroidery on 6" blocks and hope to have enough to make a quilt at the end of 2022. Thank you for a great pattern and video!!
I really enjoy watching your videos! I especially love the little "boo boos" at the end. They are so funny and cute! Thank you for sharing your talents and humor!

Beautiful fabrics! This project wasn’t my cup of tea. But I found myself watching it to see how long it took for the sleeping cat to get off the cutting mat! She’s really cute and such a rockstar personality!
What a great project! I have used so many of your patterns that i have purchased the pdf this time to say thank you for all the free stuff you so generously give us. Love it!

This would also be perfect for a needlework project bag. Just add a page of vinyl in the middle to hold floss. Exactly what I was looking for. Great tutorial
Just finished this project! Between the pattern and your tutorial, it was so easy to follow and went together easily. I have just started EPP and this is going to be perfect to take my hexagons wherever I go! I also used some newly acquired Liberty of London fabrics to make it! I did have a bit of trouble getting the binding topstitched (such tight curves)! Just something I need to work on. But it was fun and it is finished! Thank you Erica for the pattern and the tutorial!
