Excellent tutorial. I kept my iPad beside my sewing machine through the entire process. I also chose to use foam on the exterior too, thought it might make it more difficult to manage but it didn’t. The only other task I found helpful was to baste the zipper in place before adding the binding. I’ve had the pattern and fabric for 8-9 months, glad to find your tutorial, it was a tremendous help. Thank you!
FYI: Reading all the postings about copyright, if you are a designer, document, document, document. Take lots of photos. They have a time stamp. Make hand written notes with dates and scan them into your documents so they are time and date stamped as well. Then if you are accused of copyright infringement, you have the hard documentation to prove your work was first. (I used to teach business courses). This is not to be construed as legal advice. Please consult a patent lawyer for more information. If this is not allowed, please delete. Erica's tutorial was excellent. I've made one before and her demonstration is by far the best I have seen. You make things look so simple. I learn something new from you every time I watch your channel. Today I learned that if your zipper is plenty long enough, you can sew without the zipper pull being in the way. I have always cut the zipper to the size of the bag then sewn it on, struggling at times with the pull. Once I think about it, its common sense. Thanks for another great tip!! ❤
You also may use endless zippers, so you can cut them as long as you would like. In this case longer. I love those as I always have the right size at home😉. There are many colors, kinds, and sizes on the market, often with special and really nice zipper pulls. Good luck💕

I made several of these 10 years ago…one for me to use for my hand sewing items and one for my granddaughter who had just started school and used hers to keep her pencils and other school supplies! They are easy to make. Seeing this tutorial makes me want to make another one…hope I can find my pattern…😄

What a great tutorial! Like others, I am 💯 a visual learner. I can’t imagine how many patterns I would buy if the pattern makers included a detailed video tutorial with purchase! I just tackled a detailed zip pouch after finding someone who made a very good video “how too”. I was too confused by the written instructions as a beginner to start before I found it! I thank you guys for keeping me going on this new hobby!

I made all my clothes that 1st yr and the very 1st item I sewed was a fully lined suit with buttonholes!!! In those days you made your own. We did not have the “fancy” ones like now. Anyway I haven’t sewed in yrs unfortunately. I have a sewing machine and embroidery machine & a serger. I only know the sewing machine but now retired I would love to learn the other 2 machines. I found your channel several yrs ago and fell in love. Your so talented and sweet. I’ll be purchasing this pattern; hopefully it’s going to inspire me to get back to this craft. Have a blessed day. ERICA!!! Bravo, girl! I’ve had the pattern for about a year and have watched several different videos TWICE to figure it all out. Yours is BY FAR the best video! Well organized, calm voice, lots of helpful hints, you chose complementary fabrics and of course it helps to be as pretty as you are! One video I watched they sewed the side panel wrong and they commented on it, but never actually showed how it was supposed to be installed. That’s when I put the pattern away. It’s a great bag, but the instructions leave a LOT to be desired- thank you for taking the time to do a spot on video!
Hands down the best video showing this type of bag- the details were spot on and the production value is high! I bought several different patterns with this style bag and all the instructions were awful. I could not have made this video without your tutorial.

OMG!!! You were right I would have never attempted this without a video 🤯 I did purchase the pattern and with you amazing help it went together better then expected! I just love it and plan to do several more as gifts! A great way to use up scraps and those sweet little mini charms! And who doesn’t need a seasonal cosmetic bag! 😂😂😂 My 13 year old granddaughter is receiving this instead of a basket for Easter with some sweet treats tucked inside! I bought this pattern and I have made many bags for gifts or to sell and I've had to watch and rewatch tutorials to get some of the tricks and tips on how to put this together even though the pattern does explain things quite well. But your tutorial has been the most helpful and the most detailed of any of them that I have watched. Thank you so much for all your help!
Just finished this bag. I bought the pattern too. No way I could have made this bag without your tutorial which was excellent. I used scraps of cotton batting with spray adhesive for pockets inside. Did become very bulky and switched to denim needle as you suggested after I broke one. That worked much better. What did you use for interfacing, Fusible fleece or sf101 type? Any way came together fine. Very challenging. Great video and tips from you. Thank you.
Oh I'm so glad the video was helpful!! :) I used Fusible Fleece for my bag, but you can definitely use a thinner interfacing if you prefer. Here's what I used, I bought a bolt awhile back and so I'm just using it for everything until it's gone LOL! amzn.to/4coGxSG

I have this pattern n done it twice, quite bulky using fleece but I’m going to try it with foam. Yours looks so yummy!
Just make sure to trim your pocket interfacing 1/2" smaller than the fabric. That will help get rid of bulk!

I did it! Must have watched your video thirty times but I finished it. Should have listened and switched to the denim needle. Broke mine sewing the tabs down at the very last step. I love it. Your tutorial was perfection!

I bought this pattern and I have made many bags for gifts or to sell and I've had to watch and rewatch tutorials to get some of the tricks and tips on how to put this together even though the pattern does explain things quite well. Just finished this bag. I bought the pattern too. No way I could have made this bag without your tutorial which was excellent. I used scraps of cotton batting with spray adhesive for pockets inside. Did become very bulky and switched to denim needle as you suggested after I broke one. That worked much better. What did you use for interfacing, Fusible fleece or sf101 type? Any way came together fine. Very challenging. Great video and tips from you. Thank you.
Oh I'm so glad the video was helpful!! :) I used Fusible Fleece for my bag, but you can definitely use a thinner interfacing if you prefer. Here's what I used, I bought a bolt awhile back and so I'm just using it for everything until it's gone LOL! amzn.to/4coGxSG
