  • Join Carla in the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen as she makes a salted caramel-chocolate tart! You can use a 9" or 10" tart pan, but the layers will be thinner in the larger pan. We also found that Morton kosher salt won’t dissolve completely in the caramel filling, so use Diamond Crystal for the best results for this tart recipe. Then, a generous sprinkling of flaky sea salt before serving brings out the flavor of the chocolate and tempers the sweetness of the caramel.

    Shout out to BA for becoming hands down the best online repository of cooking videos. Not only are all the recipes solid and on point, but everyone you've chosen to feature has great personality and their own style. Also, Vinny doesn't get enough love for making these videos fun to watch. Editors never the respect they are due. You do great work man.

      @@delson007. He's both. He does the shooting and the editing for a lot of videos, which is why the It's Alive with Brad videos are edited differently than other videos. Brad alludes to it a lot in his videos too ("cut that out vinny," "make sure to include this one vinny," "edit x in here vinny," etc.). Also, at 7:57 of this video (and in many parts of other videos), there are frequently editor's notes. I doubt the editor was standing around with Carla waiting for the caramel.

    if the pie weight is metal instead of like, dried beans, does that affect the cooking time? Since metal is conducting heat and the beans are not...?

    • @tarawasserstein6161
      @tarawasserstein6161 5 років тому +2

      Agnes Gröndahl beans do conduct heat, just maybe not as much as metal.

    • @creefer6670
      @creefer6670 5 років тому +2

      I think it doesn’t change the cooking time as the metal doesn’t get hotter than the surrounding temp in the oven.

    • @agnesgrondahl1117
      @agnesgrondahl1117 5 років тому

      Tomer Hirschler some recipes say to adjust the time if it’s metal or beans so I’m just confused I think 😅😅

    • @creefer6670
      @creefer6670 5 років тому +1

      Agnes Gröndahl oh lol maybe because the metal while not getting hotter than the oven, the metal does heat quicker. I’m no chef so I don’t want to lead you wrong haha. But I guess experimenting is what needs to be done in cooking/baking sometimes

    • @CaliMeatWagon
      @CaliMeatWagon 5 років тому +8

      It would the same as watching them enjoy a normal smoothie. CBD doesn't get you high like her loser stoner shtick suggests.

      London1869 cbd does relax you however; it gives a body high, thc gives the mental high

    • @CaliMeatWagon
      @CaliMeatWagon 5 років тому

      @@meganrowan-7581 No, it doesn't. CBD directly blocks CB receptors, actually preventing you from getting high.
      What provides a body high vs mind high is if it is Indica vs Sativa.
