Have you ever heard the old hfi 580s, how would you say the pure's compare to those? Second question, how is the clamping force on the pure's? The 580s were so so tight
I don't have enough experience with the 580s to give a proper assertion. The clamping force isn't bad, it's actually way easier on the head than the HD series. Also, the pads here are very soft, so that helps with mitigating any discomfort as well. :)
@@EarFidelity Thanks for getting back to me, info on these is pretty rare. I ordered them and first impressions are a bit weird for me. The hfi 580s highs are extremely clear, at moments its a bit too much and gets exhausting, but i found the highs and mids sounding a bit muffled on the pure. Hard to describe. It's like I'm missing some clarity the same way you would when listening through some kind of mesh. I probably just need to get used to them. Ill use these as long session as they are much easier to listen to and the 580s will get an overhaul and become my dedicated music cans. Btw, the clamping is not nearly as bad as the 580s were when i just got them. Also, I tried some other earpads on them as well (more recessed oval suede memory foam pads from brainwavz) I noticed better highs but less pronounced lows. So I am betting that some (p)leather pads could make them even bassier (like they do with the 580) if anyone is into that stuff :D Unfortunately I don't have any intact (p)leather pads to test.

How would you compare the PURE to the newer DT X PRO 900?
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to make a direct comparison between those two. If that happens, I'll get back to you. :)
