(I'm sure you know this) but, as I learn more and use ONR, a lot of people not necessarily misuse ONR (or other rinse less washes) but don't use them to their full potential. Yvan himself said in some newer videos (post optimum employment) that pre-spraying with a 256:1 and THEN pre rinsing after the polymers do their thing is the proper way to use ONR. I think optimum tries to advertise it as a way to Clean without *any* rinsing but in reality it is a "soap" of sorts, in the sense that if you think its the golden nectar to a perfect wash with almost no effort think again. Also, different environmental conditions matter so much. Where I am pre-rinsing pretty much all year that it isn't 32ºF is a viable option.
Love the effort and the time you put into this! Also the picture quality is high enough. I think it's a good test, but also, I think this is an unfair test. ONR is not designed to stay on the panel to dry. As you know already, the intent is to dry it afterwards (Using a drying aid.). I would like to see what the results were when used as intented. Thanks!
I did not dry it off because I just wanted to see the contaminant removal properties. I do not believe that drying it off would increase the removal of contaminants and did not want to remove things with a drying towel potentially.
i believe even if you use soap, using the technique you used in the video, soap will have same result. Have you ever tried washing your dirty dishes with dish detergent. Try doing that one wipe technique you use from north to south. Then wipe your paper towel on that plate, even after rinsing the soap. Tell me what your result is.
A good test. I think it very much debunks the notion that ONR is a better cleaning mechanism than traditional wash soaps with surfactants. To be fair to optimum I believe they do recommend for heavily soiled cars to use power clean as a pretreat. Potentially that would help break down the dirt before ONR mops up.

ONR Actually works very well for this type of stuff, you just have to actually wash instead of very gently wiping.

Pre Rinse and do S pattern and buff off.

Yes I have seen that as well, but just wanted to see if ONR could do it.
