Live at Royal Albert Hall 1984 is my favourite live album: Heaven up Here, No Dark Things, Never Stop, With a Hip... are all bangers. Ian's one of the best vocalists of any era, and so fun live with all of their medley's working in a bit of Velvet Underground, Beatles, Doors... and his banter with the audience!

Man, I love the Psychedelic Furs. They’re usually a love them or hate them band, because of the singers voice. They’re underrated imo, because they have several ear candy songs. Here’s they’re best to listen to for the first time: Ghost in You, Heartbreak Beat, Pretty in Pink, and Sometimes.

This is one of the Furs two best songs….probably their 2nd best. This sounds so modern and sophisticated. It may be No. 2 BUT this song is TOTALLY AWESOME!! Their best song happens to be, “THE GHOST IN YOU”, and it’s kind of the theme song for the hit series, “Stranger Things”. But, man….this song is one of my 80s favorites!! ❤

Their song Pretty In Pink was very Meta. The movie was inspired by and named after the song, and the band rerecording a new version of the song for the movie, which put the band on the map in the US.

The Furs were huge in the clubs… and managed to standout among all the others… like Tears, the Church, Culture Club.
These guys needed a hit, and in walked all-around musical all-star Todd Rundgren who brought in the shearing synths and the marimba sound! Great band!

Saw these guys in Sydney earlier this year (or was it last year?) nearly 40 years since I last saw them; same lineup, sounded great and Richard Butler still had the voice (mostly!). What I found amazing was the amount of 20-somethings front and centre trying to get Butler’s attention. It only occurred to me then that the 80’s music culture revival is actually drawing the old bands back to touring, it’s not for us old farts in the wings...

The Furs have been touring since their beginning. I've seen them 6 times since 1981, I believe. Richard Butler used to sing with a cigarette in hand (like Brian Ferry of Roxy Music) until sometime mid to late 80s. I've seen the Furs twice this millenia, and I hear a clearer and improved voice. My last concert seeing them in 2018, the band was great, his voice was the best, and Richard Butler was very entertaining as always.
I prefer their early tunes like India and Into You Like a Train. However, every album was a new sound, and you can't go wrong with President Gas, Heaven, Alice's House, and Ghost in You.
